I'm an Ethiopian man and my wife is African American. We have two beautiful children and we recently came back from a 2 month vacation to Ethiopia. We own a home there too. Both of our children are tri-lingual. We both are high income earners and enjoy our life. Expand your options.

K1ngK0bra Black people that think they’ve hit the jackpot by dating outside their race don’t understand the history of interracial marriages. Because this show only tackles surface level issues I won’t bother getting too deep because I’ll just be deemed as crazy. But as black men we ultimately caused this new-aged liberal minded black woman that’s causing the flood gates of black women to date “whatever”. I would never date a black woman with that type of mentality because it’s lack of racial self-worth and carelessness about preserving culture and history. We’ve given up enough of ourselves as black people and now we’ve been taught the lie that we are all the same and everybody’s falling for it! American isn’t a race it’s a giant social experiment to erase black history and knowledge from our understanding. We already have European slave names and take part in European culture and now we don’t even want to be “black” anymore. Last black history month was downplayed by the media and these new-aged black people probably didn’t even notice. By next year (2019) February you might be lucky to see any and if you do it’s the same old MLK, Rosa Parks, Thurgoode Marshall (“good” Christians) broken record followed by a commercial with an interracial couple. Now every commercial and advertisement is focused on presenting interracial couples as the new family image. Fine, but what’s happening in those relationships? Are the children learning about African history or just more European culture disguised as all-inclusiveness? See, I’m going too deep....! Lol.

It's important to support our good black men, but you do NOT have any reason to feel like you have to save a man with your love. You should only offer your love to a man can reciprocate it, regardless of what his race is. Allow a man to truly appreciate your beautiful brown skin.

@Kriss "the West Indian immigrant has played a significant role in AfroAmerican life since the 18th century. For example, in 1775 Prince Hall, a native of Barbados living in Boston, established the first Negro Masonic Order in the American colonies.' During the American Revolution, George Lick left Savannah, Georgia and settled in Jamaica where he Lecture presented at Five College Black Studies Seminar, Hampshire College, October28, 1981. 1 established the first black Baptist church. 2 In the period immediately following the American Revolution, North and South Carolina found it undesirable to have liberty-conscious blacks from the West Indies inheir midst. 3 It is indeed noteworthy that of the first two AfroAmericans to gain a college education in 1826, one, John Brown Russwurm, was from Jamaica. It was Russwurm who co-founded the first Afro-American newspaper, Freedom's Journal, in 1827, a year after his graduation from Bowdoin College. Less known but certainly as important as Russwurm is Robert Brown Elliot, born of West Indian parents in Boston in 1842 and educated in Jamaica and England. Elected to the South Carolina Legislature in 1868, he rose to Attorney General of that state in 1876. A distinguished lawyer and gifted speaker, he served two terms in the U.S. Congress during Reconstruction. 4 The importance of Edward Wilmot Blyden is not well understood either. Although he lived in the United States only a few months in 1850, his influence on black Americans was more than minimal. In 1862, he visited the United States as a "Back to Africa" ambassador, and his exhortations had a direct effect on the Back to Africa efforts of Bishop Henry McNeal Turner between 1880 and 1915." I ..... just .... these comments 😑. We are doomed.... Me being an afro american married to a Jamaican man would never make me compare or put down my black american men. They are my brothers, uncles, fathers, ect. I'm aware of our history and the hardships we face in this country. We aren't all raised the same but all I hear and see is generalizing. It's plenty of men out here .. choose wisely regardless where you are in the black world .

I thought this was going to be about interracial dating for black women, a wise option that most black women seem to ignore, but no for some reason they made the assumption that a black woman would only be dating a black man. Black women should ignore race completely and go for the men with the most to offer them. Or... keep being impoverished baby mamas. Your choice.

Most cultures prefer their own, why can't we? I think the part we miss in black culture is...hmm can I say class? Most aim to date above their dating class, uh no...it doesn't work like that. Choose a partner who compliments you, resembles your upbringing/family values and you love for reasons other than his/her physical beauty. I prefer black men, similar to my personality/upbringing...never experienced troubles/shortage of dating, now married. I've also dated nice white guys in my younger days, they're cool but the black man shares my heart beat, he just does.

I don't get pressured to date exclusively black American men, because I don't associate myself with black men or women that would pressure me. Black men and women can date and marry whomever we wish regardless of race. Black men and black women that date and marry exclusively black that's fine too.

Glad that these ladies are still keeping it in the black community. We need each other and I’m talking about all of us! However, this shows the state of the Black American culture. Sad to see Black women telling each other that Black American men should be looked at as a choice on a restaurant menu. That’s the first step in breaking up a community. Would love to see putting the community first on both sides but unfortunately most of us are not taught to do that.

We definitely have work to do. Airing our laundry online gives "others" ammunition to demean us as well, not a good look. We love one another to the end. Sorry, dating out leaves me/most unfulfilled.

Jamilla Dobson well think about this, most black men live in predominantly black areas with black partners. And you can’t just look at marriage because a lot of us aren’t married.
