One problem with that argument is that not all white people are oppressors. Also, what other effective way is there to fight hate other than by spreading love? There is a difference between being "Pro Black" and "Afrocentric". Pro Black is about EVERYTHING possible being black/African/etc. Afrocentric is being concerned with and acting on black/African issues. So when you are Pro Black you are rooted in your Afrocentricity and Afrocentric is not pro black but does not mean they don't have a concern about things that affect people that look like them. You can't be PRO BLACK and date outside of your race but you can be Afrocentric.

I did not see Black Panther and support any of these celebrities with my money. The problem that I have with people who say you can't be pro-black and date white is that their actions say something else. Yes, blacks can date whoever they want, as long as they are happy; everybody doesn't have to like or support it. Queen, i have an all "nubian" daughter from a nubian female that left her on my doorstep at the of age 3. I've been in my baby's life from day one and all i ever wanted to be was a great dad and give her the FAMILY i really never had for myself...her mom on the other hand, couldn't keep her legs closed from anyone!!! I found out years later that her mom came home early one day and caught her with two dudes in the backyard and i still don't even know where my daughter was at that moment within her care, Needless to say, i gave the mom a second chance a year and a half later only to endure the same slutty behavior, since then i've moved away with my daughter. She is currently an honors student in one of the most prestigious business colleges in America and one of the best International business programs in the world. Set to graduate this upcoming December. The bulk of her time were spent with me or my Mom, but i were a male single parent raising a female. I didn't let one bad apple taint the whole bunch BUT, at the same time i met a young lady. I needed patience and a life reset, she needed better direction and and someone she could trust to love without fear. Yes, she is white in appearance , but only in appearance. Recently, the culmination of years researching her family, we found out where her lips, high cheek bones, and wide hips actually originate. We discovered that her initial Euro family that came here were indeed Mulatto on her grandad's side. Truth is in my study, we are the oldest race on this planet, subsequently, we are the progenitors of whites, latins, asians and all in between. So your comment is 100% right is the main idea of this elongated reply, lol!

Yes you can... 100%.. we gotta stop saying “Pro Black” = “Woke”... not everyone who is pro black is woke, not everyone whos woke, is actually in these streets making a problack impact.. Youre born black.. if youre actively making an impact to the black community when you are able to...youre problack...(IMO) People are always going to have an opinion about your via your significant other, even if he/she is the same race.. you cant please everyone, so why be concerned about pleasing anybody but yourself? Its your life.. not the neighborhoods or the city’s or the world’s You can be in an interracial relationship and be problack.. 100%.. But its probably alot harder to be in one but claim to be “woke”.. so you gotta weigh whats more important, be woke or be in love in a relationship (one of many that could work) that might actually work This argument is mostly a tool to steal peoples happiness.. just like “you aint black if youre mixed”... “you aint black if you didnt grow up in the hood”... why are we trying to kick people down so much? Thats a better question You are woke or problack if you choose to do so.. dating/marrying someone shouldnt make you any less decorated

Ppl be making it seem like if a black person dates a white person then they must be a MAGA hat wearing sell out. Why are there so many standards to being black?? If that person makes the other person happy and makes them a better person, why does it matter?? Damn chill tf out. Stop worrying about who other ppl are fucking. Worry about your own shit. It's hard because a relationship at it's foundation is so personal and you don't want to go around telling people who to love. However, in the black community who you marry has a ripple effect. People need to understand that in order for the black community to grow and be strong we have to unify from within. Growing stable, successful black families and passing on generations of wealth to our black children. I find it very hard to take people who've gone outside their race for love seriously on matters concerning Pro Blackness. There's a disconnect that happens.

I don't think you can be pro-black and date outside the race because your attention will always be divided. Even if you find love and acceptance outside your race, there's still the issue of dealing with the family and friends who may not feel the same way. You will find yourself always having to consider their background, their culture, their issues first and integrating yours into the mix will always tend to feel uncomfortable, like you're forcing it. I've got two friends now who are dealing with IR relationship situations. One is a friend of a friend, whose ex told her TO HER FACE that he would always be better than her because he's white. Since that time she's consulted family and friends, has done some soul-searching and changed her policy on IR dating, but is also dealing with a nightmare of issues because children are involved and the ex is purposely making things difficult. The other friend is from high school, recently married and still enjoying the newlywed life. When I see her post pics with her new husband on fb, seeing how happy she is---as much as I wanna be happy for her, I can't help but count the days until she posts about something this guy says or does to her she simply can't ignore that not only ruins the marriage but destroys her notion that most black ppl grew up with before being aware, about how 'love conquers all'---the idea that you can find love outside your race because love is truly this transcendent ideal and ideally, it is. In a world where black people can't afford not to be aware of what's going on around them at all times, and where white people continually show us what they really think of us, being pro-black and pursuing IR relationships are like oil and water. It's probable, but not consistently possible. More vivid on paper than reality.

Why would anybody want to be Pro Black? What are the benefits? Is there a life changing payoff involved? The black community has always been and always will be behind in the world. Yeah sure there are a few who have some overwhelming success, but even those few can’t compare to other races and what they’ve done.Being Pro Black appears to be a war that black people will never win no matter what lifetime we live in. It’s too exhausting of a fight and, ultimately is counterproductive and simply not worth it. Black people complain about the very problems they perpetuate and always are crying for change. But repeat the same behaviors. It’s pure insanity. It’s a huge lack of accountability on a lot of levels. We have always been our own worst enemies. So on that note why would any logical, rational person want to date within that community? It just doesn’t make sense. So interracial dating seems like the more feasible option. Why stay in a community where you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t? I totally get why black people seek love elsewhere. Whether male or female. Get away from the hypocrisy and ignorance. So don’t let the overrated idea of being “pro black” stop you from interracial dating. Move on and simply be happy.

I don't see how you leverage the dichotomy.

While i do believe that love is something you cant control, for myself I know that a non black woman, no matter how hard she tries, would never have the same connection or understanding of my culture, which is something that i deem very important. Also in my claim of being pro black I find black women as the most attractive because they are me. I don't know how you could be fully committed or connected to your community when you don't even have the foundation, which is the black family. You can be socially conscious but if a non black woman (or man) is on your arm, there are certain conversations where your opinion holds no weight.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. 1. Pro black doesn't mean anti white, and it seems a lot of you don't know the actual definition of what pro black means. 2. We can date whomever we want. 3. Y'all are so "pro black families" yet let's not ignore the fact that there is a bunch of single mother households. Out of all the women in my family, only 2 of us are currently married on my mom's side , which is beyond sad. How about y'all encourage our people to not have so many different baby mommas/daddies because kids need to see a healthy 2 parent household. I wish I got that growing up, so I made sure I would be married before I had kids. I'm a wife, not a baby mother (and we don't have kids yet anyway because I don't want them right now). Yes my husband is non black, but that didn't stop him from teaching BLACK, poor children in Grenada. That didn't stop him from working in a lower income area and try to create a positive outlet for minority children. His skin color doesn't stop him from seeing the Injustices people of color face, and getting so angry about it. His skin color doesn't stop him from loving my natural hair and getting sad when I consider straightening it. How many of you "pro black" people married the mother of your children, put money into our communities/ black owned businesses, and how many of you educate our youth? I go to so many schools in lower income neighborhoods and it saddens me that students have to share torn up textbooks. Why don't yalla invest in those schools? I had a student who didn't know subtraction in 3rd grade so I made sure I spent as much time as needed teaching him because I didn't want him to become another "black kid who is bad at math statistic" . My point is, my husband and I actually do stuff for my community, but you all would say I'm not pro black because my husband is white, even though he does so much for my community? Ok. Well keep trying to exhile those who don't fit your cookie cutter definition of what being black entails and Just understand that y'all's anti white agenda is exactly what the KKK believed in, they are just on the other side of the fence.

I'm going to ask this 2 questions for people to answer. 1) If Colin Kaepernick marries or dates a white woman is he pro black with all his sacrifice for his community. Or is he classified as not black because he is bi racial 2) If Lebron James dates or marries a white woman is he pro black or not after his contributions to his communities. For me their actions speaks louder than whomever they date or marry. As long as she isn't against black people. So if the white lady puts her effort into the black community and fight for injustice against black people their spouses still aren't pro black? For me that's a narrow minded definition of being pro black.

I think anytime we’re focused on other people’s relationships, it’s a sign that there’s something internal we need to look at. In this regard, I find it interesting that black and white people are the racial groups most scrutinized and least likely to engage in interracial dating whereas Latinos and Asians are those that are most likely. My theory is that it has to do with the way we define ourselves. See, Latinos and Asians are likely to know exactly what country their ancestors are from, speak their traditional languages or practice their traditional religion and customs. So their kids, as long as they speak to them in Spanish and take them to Puerto Rico from time to time for example, will be Puerto Rican. On the other hand, black and white are not cultures...they’re colors. So there is a genuine fear surrounding dilution of the colors themselves. Is that plausible?

Im a 40 yr old white woman. I have never dated a white man in my life. I grew up in a very racist area, the grand dragon of the kkk lived a mile from me. At 14 I met my kids father and i was looked at as a traitor to my race. I was kidnapped and beaten and left in a graveyard way out in the country, bleeding and cold. 2 years later kkk did a drive by and shot my friends. My family, to this day dont speak to me. As early as 5 yrs old, I could see that the way my family talked about black ppl when we were at home, was wrong, and I was going to think for myself. There are many more instances where I felt the racism from a perspective most whites never do. Now I'm very pro black even tho I'm white. Im use to being the only white person around and thats my normal. Ppl think I'm weird bc I love Farrakhan and even listen to pan africanism. They speak truth and right is right, wrong is wrong so I don't care how white ppl think of me, now having said all of this, I like to be with a man who is on the same page as me mentally, common beliefs are great, the problem with that is, I dont think I will meet a pro black man who will date(seriously) or marry a white woman. Im curious what other ppl think bc im getting old but I can't be with a white man, its too awkward to me

You can not say you support everything black and then stop at the black family, wherein you don’t seek to create and build a legacy of black love and black family, that continue to reinforce what is means to be black within your own boarders and within a world that has consistently sought to destroy us as black men and women. For me, marrying and dating outside your race is fulfilling something I read in a book in the 90s. And what I read stated that the new black would not be the original black man and woman, but the children of mixed race. For me that is scary. There has always been ideals that sought to erase us as a people, I think this is no different! Many of us look upon ourselves as a stain on society, and within our own families. The reality is that if we continue in this mindset, this along with the numerous murders of black men and women-by police, coupled with black on black crime, and the incarceration of such people. Black people may one day be just a memory. EXTINCTION OF BLACK! And is this a possibility? There is an annihilation taking place, and we keep going along with the plan set by them. Are we that naïve to believe that these same people that are pro police when a black man or woman is murdered by police, somehow change of heart takes place interchangeable to create the ILLUSION of being all for us one minute, and the next their not? NO THEIR HATRED TOWARD US IS REAL! Sorry that sounds like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. What they’ve displayed thus far hasn’t been enough for to say yes let me try this dating outside my race thing. If they are so for us why do we not see massive amounts of them standing with us? If they are so for us why are they so against black woman, the woman who gave birth to humanity. I ask; how does one find it slightly possible to love black men, yet hate the black women? It is black women and black men that give life to black babies-hence black man. When you display hate to a black woman to a black man, you are saying in truth you also hate that man, because he comes from black woman. You can not love a black man and not the one from whom he’s birthed. If it were not for the black woman there would be no black man to love. SO can you be pro black and marry or date white or other-NOT in these eyes. For others maybe.
