DnD Player Roleplays Disgusting Acts | r/rpghorrorstories

Ойын-сауық

In today's episode of RPG Horror Stories with DnD Doge, we have a tale about a player that tries to make every female NPC into his girlfriend to shocking degrees. A story about one of the smelliest, nastiest players I've read about, that also happens to be unstable. And speaking of unstable, our third story involves a player that shocks the party by flipping out and wanting to roleplay some unacceptable actions.

    I see the cleric in that last story is a complete and utter hypocrite. When he originally said he wasn't okay with sexual assault, he meant sexual assault performed ON HIM. But he's clearly more than happy to do it himself when the chances arises. Rules for thee, but not for me.

    A former friend of mine had a similar degree of stench to Nurgle (at least from how I'd imagine Nurgle's degree of stench from the description) and claimed that "no one could smell it after the first week." No, dude. I think you just couldn't smell it anymore. He also had shoes that reeked so horribly that we had to keep them outside even if he had actually been convinced to shower. And the thought that rain counted as a shower. Personally, I can't stand it if I don't shower as soon as I wake up, so this was completely baffling to me.

    What the heck was that guy even going on about with the "Lawful Good" bit? I could understand the line of thinking where he thought punishing them for being prostitutes was Lawful because it's illegal (even when it's probably not in universe), but to say he needs to engage in evil acts to balance things out was just weird.

  • @BlueTressym

    @BlueTressym

    Even punishing is not Lawful because he's not a law enforcement officer. Vigilanteeism is usually illegal too. I find that a huge number of 'Lawful Good' PCs' players (and paladins' players) act as if they think they are somehow allowed to personally 'punish' anything they see fit. The Lawful thing to do - IF prostitution was actually illegal - would be to report them to the authorities.

Both were wearing clothes that probably havent been washed for weeks as there was a stong hint of stinky underwear, both looked super greasy like they havent showered any time recently, both had horrid breath and yellow teeth with the guy having smokers breath with that, and on top of all of that was a strong hint of cat piss. Fortunately i was finishing up my purchase as they walked in and booked it out of there. It looked like a mini tourney was about to take place and i felt bad for the people who were left behind with them. I remember playing with guy warlock that use his powers to flirted with everyone, too young, monsters and the undead. All the other players were visible annoyed of his antics but didn't know how to deal with it but the Ranger though of a way. Making sure he was behind the problem player while messing with his loaded crossbow and willing himself to fail a weapons check and he did. Shooting the guy in the back of his head which made his really mad at the Ranger who later said wasn't actively trying to kill him just envying the opportunity for things to go wrong, which "luckily" they did. When rolling off the damage again faith had plans and giving him a critical hit and now needed one of us to help stabilize him. The Druid and Cleric were the girls at the table who really didn't like the warlock cause of some inappropriate things he did earlier, so when he beg them to help them they just silently did nothing. Then he turned to me the only other healer a paladin, I was a bit hastened myself looking my other team mates who looking back at me to see what I was gonna do. So reluctantly helped cause as a Rose Knight of Sune wasn't sure if it would work on him but I tried and got a 20. Yet the GM said it didn't work, making the warlock really frustrated. The reminded the warlock that I was a paladins of the Firehair Lady and we sought to defend beauty and destroy those evil beings of Faerûn that were exceptionally repulsive in their deeds, which he put himself in the ladder. After that he said his body lights on fire leaving nothing left of him but ashes. After the warlock left the table, me and the rest were a bit take back by what the DM pulled just then but relieved that it did as well.

    So that last story pretty much describes a guy I had in my D&D campaign he even played a Warforged Forge Cleric. I wonder if he is the same guy. I also had problems with him and he did some creepy stuff. I didn't kick him because I was a fairly new DM and pretty non-confrontational. We had scheduling problems (because of a different player) and the campaign fizzled out. A couple months later we started a new campaign and I just didn't invite him to the new campaign.

    I just feel awful for this Nurgle person. He clearly had problems and needed help, and all he got was "eew, eeeew, eeeeew, what a loser, eeeeeeeeew." He didn't actually seem to do anything, and yet OP felt it necessary to, thirty years later, write a disturbingly long post about how bad the guy smelled.... a post so exaggerated that I doubt its credibilty. I hope I never end up gaming with OP... they'd probably go "eeeew, eeew, eeeeew, look at the fatty" and then after a couple of decades write a post about how they once had to suffer through a game session with "Blobbetta" who was so fat she rolled everywhere.

    Out of context that flirting with the Nos lady could be massively funny, but the rest of the player's action ruin it. The cleric's excuse sounds more like something I'd get from a neutral-stupid druid. I've heard the occasional half-wit assume that balance = attack everyone in a fight scene regardless of side or threat then expect all the survivors to be chill with them once the battle has died down.

    In a campaign that I'm in, there was a full blown argument between a co-gm and another player because the character the co-gm called "dibs" on looks 15 from the series she is from and it sparked an argument about pedophilia, to which the gm said that wouldn't be happening because that is messed up, but the co-gm is apparently from the Philippines and says that adulthood and consent is at the age of 15 there. I eventually got fed up with the other player because our gm said that pedophilia won't be allowed, the co-gm stopped talking about it but he just didn't want to let it go for whatever reason, like it was some vital life line, and I basically told him to shut up in the kindest way possible because I wanted to enjoy the campaign instead of having to discuss that. Pedophilia is gross, but when people want to drop a subject like that, it should be clear that you should too and move on because we are there to enjoy a make believe campaign, not do arguments about laws and such.

    7:56 "I feel all sorts of scuzzy if I miss even one day of showering." Dude! Do *not* shower every single day! Your skin produces certain natural oils that keep it healthy, and recent science has shown that if you shower every single day, your skin isn't able to replenish enough of those oils to keep itself healthy. You shower every single day, you're gonna' give yourself a skin condition! Experts actually recommend every *other* day. This is still often enough that you stay nice and hygienic, while still allowing your skin enough time to recover from each shower, that it remains nice and healthy.

    The vampire stuff is tame, honestly. World of Darkness stuff is supposed to be disturbing and explore what losing your humanity is like. I've had players play serial killers who taxidermied a family for themselves out of their victims and had Giovanni characters who intentionally inflicted unbelievable amounts of emotional trauma on npcs in order to get them to commit suicide or to turn into a wraith when they died so that they could enslave their ghost. And that is just vampire. Try playing with Freak Legion or Pentex material. Also has anyone heard of HOL? Stands for Human Occupied Landfill.

    The RPG freak show was a good one today. Sometimes, I wonder if there is something wrong with me. It is the stories involving disturbed, creepy, and disgusting players that I enjoy the most. Of course, I never want to encounter these people in person. Observing them from a safe distance is entertaining, but interacting with them is a different matter entirely, and I certainly feel bad for the innocent people who have the misfortune to get into games with these cretins. One type of person that I find truly perplexing is the stinky neckbeard. How can anyone stand to go through life with hygiene practices so terrible that other people are driven away? Do they become nose blind to their own stench? Do they enjoy being encased in a layer of grease, sweat, and poop? I suppose some teenagers go through a phase like this, but the vast majority grow out of it quickly.

    As a person who has at various times in my younger days been forced by circumstance (camping/ ruffing it for days on end, in the arctic with no hot water for over a month in winter, etc.) you never notice your own stench all that much. And quickly become nose blind to it altogether. And in those environments those around you soon become mostly nose blind too. Back in the Navy we would get submarine crews every now and them in port that would comment on how the fresh air smelled funny to them. That's because they had gone nose blind to the odors trapped in the sub with them for weeks and months. To the point where when they were no longer around those odors, their noses would give the signal to their brains that something was off. As for enjoying being encased in layers of muck. I doubt they think about it one way or the other. If done long enough your body just sees it as normal. And for hundreds of thousands of years it was. As I understand it bathing was started by religion. An act of purifying one self before entering into a holy place. And even until recently in some parts of the world, bathing is not a common thing. Look back at the old Bugs Bunny cartoons from even the 50's. They have references in them of only taking a bath on Saturday night. That is still a thing in some parts of Europe and the rest of the world. It only really caught on in Western Culture due to the saying "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." becoming popular. And that was only in the last couple hundred years.

    This is gonna sound controversial-but cutting ties over that in the first story seems excesive-especially over a game. Would you cut ties with someone for reading Game of Thrones given what Khal Drogo did to Danerys at a similar age to this character? Fiction is fiction. If it makes you feel uncomfortable-at least have a talk with the guy. I read WAY too many of these horror stories where people react with the moral outrage as if the players are actually committing the horrible acts that their characters are. Same goes for the third one.
