One thing I noticed about the mask is that the bottom has no ventilation. Not sure what look the guy wanted, but that thing would get pretty toasty in a convention center or costume party especially with that thicker foam...

I've been wanting to make one of these masks for Halloween. I'm kind of a history buff, and reading about the Bubonic Plague is very Fascinating to me. The level of creepiness these masks have are at max level to me.

Great tutorial. One thing that I would do different is to add the tacks/rivets after it was painted. it's just my personal preference, but I think the brass hardware would make the glasses pop.

I think before cutting the v slits you shloud make registration marks so it would be easier to line them up when you glue the foam pices

So I got foam from a local everything store and it has a really strong odor...I have some ventilation but it’s been out in the house for a few days now and it still smells... from the inside... maybe I’ll make more ventilation... maybe some slits... ??? It isn’t the right thickness, but with some re-enforcement it still seems to be holding up it’s shape.

Two 5 mm craft foam sheets 12X18 inches 1.29$ at Hobby Lobby. Contact Cement 4$. One 3 mm Craft foam sheet 12X18 inches 99 cents at Hobby Lobby. Mod Podge, 5.99$. Black paint? Varies depending on what you use. The Plastic I used for the lenses was from a Pokemon package, I scavenged it. Polypro strapping 1.50$ at Wal-Mart. Velcro 1.99$ at Hobby Lobby. You will have a lot of Velcro, Mod Podge, Contact cement and poly pro strapping left over. Tacks like I used you can find cheap around 2 bucks. Took me two evenings to do this, pretty quick compared to most of my projects on this channel. The Punisher vest took a week for example. The star lord mask took 3 weeks.
