Also with my upper radiator hose and lower main hose I had no issues taking those out now the smaller hose under the main bottom radiator coolant hose that one gave me soooo many issues. I had to fight it to pop it out. And then I had to fight it sooo hard for 2-3 days to put it back on then I realized I had to sand down my radiator inlet in order for the hose to fit on there I still struggled (which meant it wasn’t loose so thank god) to out it on but got it on there nice and tight after a good fight

Thanks for sharing and good instructions. Reviewing to do this again. The replacement Mahle Behr Radiator just failed after 2 years /20k miles. South African POS.........I also found that hole for 25T Screw to mount transmission cooler hose was smaller than original German Behr Radiator on our 08 328it than the replacement SA. The hole should be the same diameter using the 25T self tapping screws. In all fairness I tried the Nissens first when I replaced it 2 years ago and "valving" leaked. Unfortunately, this, along turbos, more recycled plastic and poor quality control, end of the Naturally Aspirated In Line 6, is why I will not be buying any more BMWs - unless I look at vintage ones such as pre-2006 - BMWs are not what they used to be. Thanks again for sharing

Great video man! My 2009 with 145K has had a small leak at the upper hose attachment for a few months now. Finally bit the bullet & am changing it out. My original had the blue drain plug. The Behr on I got looks to be the exact same one you have but looks like it is sealed instead of having a place to attach that blue screw in plug, is that correct? EDIT: Never mind that question, I'm an idiot and just realized that the blue drain screw is only used on the original BMW radiators. The Behr have a thick black screw. Will just drain it at lower hose anyway when the times comes since all those seem to crack. Again, thanks for the awesome video!

Thank you so much for another helpful video man. I needed valve cover gasket replaced and I followed your DIY video on that as well, thankfully you were working on a SULEV version which is what I have. While I was trying to be careful, in the end I unfortunately did break that little expansion tank hose trying to get the valve cover out. And as I was replacing that little hose I also broke that plastic part on Upper Radiator hose where one connects to another. It basically just fell off on it's own the second I touched it (gently, I swear 😄) And of course when trying to replace upper radiator hose I broke the radiator right there in that weak spot as you are showing here. So here I am watching the radiator video now! My car is 2007 328i, 130k miles and seems like these are all original parts, so I would probably needed to replace all of this soon anyway. I do have a question: since there are 130k miles on my car, Is it a good idea to replace all the hoses during this job as well? My upper hose seems pretty dirty on the inside. So, upper and lower hoses, and also oil cooler to radiator hose (this last one you said is okay to leave as is, but with 130k is that still the case?). And thanks again for taking your time to explain all the little details in your videos, you have the best BMW DIYs on KZread by far!

Thanks for watching, well i’d say go ahead and replace upper and lower radiator hoses along with transmission cooler hose, i would also recommend to replace one heater hose that goes to upper radiator hose other than that you should be fine on everything else. As for upper radiator hose breaking it’s normal those are always replaced in pairs with expansion tank to upper radiator hose so i’d say not your fault😉

Mine has it but I am in Florida so don't have yearly inspections so I disconnected the sensor & bought the $200 BEHR from FCP Euro. Toying with possibly using my cutting wheel to slice out the old sensor from my old radiator and zip tying it in the engine bay to get rid of check engine light, which I have heard some people have done.

WHEN i turn the ac on, that is the ONLY time i hear my radiator fan runnning..I dont show any codes nor am I overheating or i think it would throw a code? The test some guy told me on youtube was to disconnect the harness plug to the coolant temp sensor, and if the fan came on, then the coolant temp sensor was NO GOOD (near oil filter housing)...when i disconnected my old coolant SENSOR, the fan came on really fast and loud like never before, so i replaced the coolant sensor.. Nothing changed after replacing the coolant temp sensor...can anyone tell me what is wrong?? I live and Florida and its really hot and I would think the radiator fan would turn on after I shut car off..it read 200 degrees with my infrared thermometer. I know there is a relay black under passenger fender and another small square one somewhere..would these cause the fan NOT to activate..As I said the fan works, but only with ac on..I would think if fuse or a relay was bad that the fan wouldnt work at all.. So great video just FYI w/o that ozone sensor installed and functioning you may not renew your registration NO STICKER! there is a hack that you plug in separately 150 $ and the oem version of the radiator is just as much a piece of shit as the 100$ Usually I would always say go fo OEM however in this case get the cheap one be cause you can but three for an oem version and you're are going to rip the hose off with the gram cracker crust plastic radiator so it 100 dollar 4oo dollar gram cracker...
