BMW 3 Series Radiator Replacement
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This video is for replacing a radiator on a 328I sedan 2008 model year non-turbo without an EAC sensor. This should be the same for all 2006 through 2010 BMW 3 Series cars.
NOTE: Some models come with manganese oxide-coated radiators with an EAC sensor. Make sure you get the correct radiator for your application.

Thanks to your video and concise instruction, I successfully swapped out my radiator. So far, no leaks and no low coolant warning. Thank you!
I am a certified professional BMW gangsta and I can add: when you connect hoses back on, it's easier to push the clip in the hose and then the hose to the fitting, it will click and you will know it's secure

Removing the fan is not too bad. I had a rusty bolt on my driver's side. (Transmission cooler hose to the radiator). If you use a zip disk or hacksaw, you can save the hose if you're careful. Also, for anyone attempting this... be EXTREMELY careful with your dismantling and install. The fittings can be very brittle. Replace them if you can!!!!
Thanks man so much for this video, put a new radiator in my 2006 bmw 325i. took me nearly a full week because I only had like 30 minutes to work on it a day, and plus ran into a lot of problems along the way. just jacking up such a low profile vehicle was litte challenge with itself. made a litte ramp out of barbell weight plates to get the vehicle high enough to get the jack under. plastic drain plug on the radiator broke off first thing and had to drill it out to get the fluid to drain. had hell trying to get the lower passenger side radiator hose off, finally had to use a large pry bar to leverage it off. had to replace the temp sensor which was like another $35 and so on and so forth. Well not to go on and on but you made everything look so easy and that fan removal was a pain in the ass. Thanks so much for your guideance, would have been so much harder without your help Sir.

I agree with replacing radiator hoses ESPECIALLY upper. There is a small nipple on it that will break over time. When it does break it will shoot hot coolant directly in your face/eyes. Ask me how I know. Lol
Great video! Only thing I would suggest is don't leave the hose clamps up when reattaching them. You want them down and press until they click. that is the safest way to know they have sealed correctly. You actually need them down to form the best seal.

awesome videos thank you for sharing your knowledge, im having a problem with my 07 328i, i have oil in the overflow tank. there is no water (coolant) in the oil! but oil in the water. i was hoping you could point me towards the solution. i did notice a big dent on the bottom of the radiator and thinking that maybe an oil cooling line cracked and thats how the oil is going into the coolant? is not a lot of oil and it seems to just be in the reservoir tank. i disconnected and removed the hoses to check inside for oil but they seem clean. i wish i could post a picture for you to see.

A shop in St. Peter's MO wants to charge us $1800 to replace the same radiator. It's crazy.
I have discovered that all the hoses with the quick connect plastic ends should be replaced. The plastic in these parts is made of something like a mix of plastic and cardboard. Working on a friend's 06 325i E90 I have found all these parts degraded. I am replacing the radiator because the plastic has degraded and cracked. She got the car used, maybe the antifreeze but this appears to happen to allot of these cars. Be safe replace them all even if the hose looks good. Funny the Chinese replacement radiator and parts are all made with high quality fiber glass reinforced Dupont plastic. I know this stuff. If used OE none of these parts or radiator would have to be replaced.

Hello & thnx for this video. I’m working on my 2007 BMW 328i. I don’t need to replace the radiator just the upper hose & that’s what my question is about. Can I just replace the rubber hose part or do I need to replace the metal attachments on the ends of the hose as well? Like, do I have to buy a whole upper hose with the metal attachments that connect to the radiator on one end & the engine on the other end? Or can I just take the upper hose off & replace the rubber in between the metal attachments? I’m thinking I can just replace the rubber hose part? My next question is: since the coolant was dripping onto the engine belt & whatever else is below the leak, do I need to replace the engine belt, pulleys, etc? Also, because this leak was going on, my engine had a squeal to it. Is that why my engine was squealing? Because the coolant was leaking onto my engine belt? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!!

thanks. 14:33 radiator is in the middle of the front-grill. bmw's front-grill does not have logo blocking air coming to the radiator, but bmw's front-grill has thin pillar in the middle of front-grill, that thin-pillar could block air coming to the radiator. addition --- but not having logo on front-grill, maybe affect crash-rating-score addition --- maybe because logo on front-grill, is a crumple-zone

So I changed my radiator that was leaking, but now when the fan turns on, it won't shut off. I've used Torque and a bluetooth OBD reader, and I can track the radiator temperature. It's obvious the fan cools it down and keeps the temperature down, but it should turn off. What could be the problem?

Are you talking about the upper radiator hose right? The small hose is attached by metal clamps that have to be cut off if you are just looking to replace the small hose that goes to the reservoir tank. Just use a pair of side cutters to remove the clamps. Then just replace with regular hose clamps. One more thing, the small hose is attached to the reservoir tank with a small clip just like the radiator hose.

Whoever does it for you?😁 The labor is about two hours + parts.
People... Let me tell you something. If you are doing an automatic transmission e90 or e92 this job is much harder than you see here. Just getting the large bottom radiator hose off should have been the toughest part. But no!!! You have remove your intercooler and then the little hoses at the bottom on each side. At first you think you have to unscrew the little hoses from the radiator (because you can't pull it out without them off) but they do have the little wire clips and they'll come right off. But you're still not done! You have to remove the charge pipe connection on the driver side or you'll be battling to get it out. I've had to remove the electric fan before so I knew what I was in for but going in and out might cause you to pull your hair out even if you've done it before. My Behr replacement radiator fit perfect but getting that in was a blast too. Reconnecting all of the hoses was not a problem. Just make sure they are on firm. I just finished mine and was shocked at what a POS the intercooler was. Watch for lots of dirt and debris coming out with it. Good luck!
