Happy New Year!! Part of the reason I never uploaded this DIY is because of how hard it is to actually capture everything. I hope this tutorial helps anyone that needs to address their E9x cooling system (should be every e9x owner at this point lol). Let's try to hit some big milestones this year on KZread, if my content has helped any of y'all please try to share it and don't forget to subscribe. Hope the best for everyone this year, lets get it!

Looking at picking up a 2006 e90 330i this weekend. Your E9x content is invaluable for showing me what my future holds. 😁
I just had to replace my upper radiator hose and expansion hose because it wa so brittle and it snapped and the nipple on the other end snapped off. Your video gave me SOOOO much convenience, I KNOW this video will help thousands upon thousands of people like it helped me. Thank you
I'm a BMW mechanic and that was one of the best videos on the internet explaining how the cooling system on the E9x chassis works and can be worked on. Bravo dude! Have my sub. I'm also tackling almost all of this on my 135k F87 :D
The best most comprehensive DIYs on KZread. Happy New Year, guys. Wishing a prosperous 2023.

Thanks Rich 🙏 Hope the same for you!
Great video as always, Jason! I refreshed my entire cooling system (less the heater core and radiator) in my 2008 e92 328xi at 220k miles last year. The "only" reason I did it was because I decided to replace all the front end thrust arms, control arms and tie rods. However, once I removed all the front end suspension, I realized I was very close to being able to support the engine and drop the front subframe and repair the slow leaking oil pan gasket I was putting off for the last 70k miles, 😆. It was literally at that point I realized this was the perfect time to access a the WP, t-stat, clamps & hoses, etc. I was shocked to see that the Date Codes on the parts were originals back to 2008. I also replaced the OFHG and went with the upgraded "Mickey Mouse" fitting on the OFH. I'll be doing all of this again on my wife's 2011 328i xdrive this spring! I think I enjoy working on my e9X chassis cars than my e46/e46M cars!

Thanks Craig! The “while you are in there” will get you lol. One time I was doing an oil change and noticed a minor leak, turned into a whole engine out reseal and refurbish 😂
You make the best diy videos available. All the insights and tips make you stand out from the rest. Keep up the good work!
Damn son I don’t even wanna think about when the time comes for me to do all this in my E92 😢😢😢😢

My e92 at 150k is leaking on the driver side. I already replaced all the top stiff and the lower heater hose. I'm wondering what it will be when I get the bottom panel off?
The best clean explanation with all the things you really need to know
Outstanding video as usual! Thank you very much for the effort!
Great video and awesome info. Subscribed. Thanks!
Great video - well worth the time to update the cooling system for reliability.
Great video! Super helpful when replacing the cooling system on my 2009 128i. I wasn't hearing the "audible click" when I connected the quick connect hoses. Bu the clip was down & the connection was good. Toward the end you mentioned putting the hoses on with the clip down. A ha! I tried that on the last few & sure enough, an audible click! Thanks again!
This is the most helpful video Ive ever seen, thank you
Great video! Thanks.

Thanks a lot. I had a look under my E92 Coupe, after nosing the front onto a car space kerb, I broke the joint in the lower hard plastic recovery hose and dumped all my coolant. Your video will make replacing the hose easier.

@@ShopLifeTV 😅 I know quality videos like this take a long time to make!
Thanks so much! So now I know what the heck that adapter is (mickey mouse!)
I only needed to replace the "mickey mouse" hose from the engine to the thermostat, my coolant expansion tank hose to the upper ended up breaking, I also could not disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator no matter how much penetrant I applied, ended up breaking the plastic connection off the radiator so now i'm doing the radiator too... Well this is ending up pretty much like the video (which is super helpful) Thanks!
What's the part number of the hose that's not available? Very informative. Thanks
Awesome work, awesome video ❤ Now my question is, if this overhaul is done on a 150,000 miles BMW, how many more miles do you think I could get out of the Bimmer without heating hassles?
More constant uploads on the e46 please!!!!

New video brother I had a question did u replace the bottom expansion tank hose also?
Great DIY brother and sister! And also great, you used a complete metal water pump, probably one from INA? Unfortunately, my 335i had the pump replaced just before I bought the car. It's a Continental again, with the plastic pump housing. Thanks for sharing. Dutch regards Nico.

Thanks Nico! This was a Bavarian Auto upgraded water pump, first time using it but ECS has it as part of their level 3 kit, which usually means it’s a good quality part.

@@ShopLifeTV okay also great stuff. Here in the EU people buy the INA pumps for the n53 and n54. It's a oem German BMW brand, you probably know.
Hey brother I’m gonna be replacing my radiator soon is it necessary to replace all the hoses too or just the o rings ? I have a 2012 335i coupe base automatic with 118k
I can't find a video ANYWHERE on how to remove & replace the heater hose. Every video seems to skip over that.

Can you please explain how you were able to reconnect the inlet pipe? Its such a small area and theres no angle or room to reach to get the torx bolts to thread back on? You mentioned a few extensions with a 1/4 inch drive. I tried every extension and the bolt is almost impossible to align it straight on, the swivel socket i used to remove them keeps sliding off and i dont know how to thread them back on.
Great Video Thanks and I just subscribed to see more, I love your videos. I am looking for the video or the heater core that you are talking about (can you please point me to it) , also. I have the same car and replaced almost everything except the plastic hose that connect the expansion tank with the termostat, transmission and heater. i have the hose that I was not able to disconnected from the heater side and don't want to damaged it as I didn't ordered the heater hose and the return hose from heater. My question is: Looks like the plastic coolant recovery hose and the 2 for the heater are OK, I never use the heater because am in Florida and I think the is not to much circulation on the heater , the car is a 2010 with 135K. What you think about it ?. Thanks
38:47 I’m having a leak on this hose, I’m trying to figure out if I can just buy the little plastic connecting part or if I need the whole hose and where I can find it and how to remove it and install it back
Could've used this a bit ago lmao. Great guide, there isn't much info out there for many of the hoses.

Better late than never lol yea there isn’t since it’s hard to get the right angles for the shots. We scrapped a good amount of footage
Does the heater hose have an O ring? The hose connecting to the bottom of the upper radiator hose
hey buddy when you have a chance, can you do the bmw x6 xdrive35i n55 e71 oil pan gasket replacement thanks
What’s the hose at 5:12 called under the lower radiator hose on passenger side I bought new hose kit but only came with the two big ones and the water rez one I replaced my radiator because upper part cracked and now it is leaking out the lower small hose
So for that whole hose line 13:32 is the 328i hose the same as a 335i hose??
Where can I find the heater cord video ? For the hose
What type of lubricant did you say for the hoses for the radiator hoses to spray on there
Whats the hard plastic line mounted to subframe called?
how close is this to the N54 33i? We have an '08.
I have been watching your videos for a long time and I saw where you moved to the Carolinas. I am in NC and my daughter drives a 2004 bmw 330i. But it overheated and blew the head gasket. She can’t find anyone around here trustworthy to fix it, several mechanics gave her a price but couldn’t guarantee the work. Most suggested another engine. Her engine has about 145k miles and was well maintained until the hard plastic heater hose cracked, lost coolant and overheated. I don’t know what to do with her car now. Do you work on other people’s cars, or do you know any reliable mechanics around here? Thank you.
Does this also apply to a 2014 328i?
I paid a shop to do the complete cooling system replacement on my 2009 E90 with 6 speed manual. The only thing not replaced was the water pump inlet pipe . Apparently the metal and rubber part of the inlet pipe (which I was told is a single order code) are not stocked by BMW Australia.
@ShopLifeTV
Жыл бұрын
They make a repair kit now, not sure if it’s available in Australia though
what hose is being removed in 5:13 ? asking for a friend 😂
I installed a mosselman thermostat so my car runs 30 degrees cooler than stock. even at 270kmh on the autobahn i am far below stock temps. You can also open the engine bay with M3 cowls & set the fan speed to sport for another 10degree reduction. For turbo BMWs, this is probably the best mod to benefit longevity & all engine/coolant components.
@luckgrip252

Couldn't there be a thing that it is less efficient when it's cooler than operating temp is? Something that came across my mind
can someone confirm if the coolant expansion tank from E90 breaks often like E46's? thanks in advance...

How much would this cost too get done at a shop?
Hello I’ve been watching your videos for a little while and I’ve learned a lot. I have a 2010 528I that I recently service the transmission to include solenoids and seals. You read. My. Mind.
I didn't have silicone spray, so I just dipped my fingertip in synthetic engine oil to lubricate the hose ends and O-rings.
Hey Jason, this comment is more generic if you don't mind? Would you ever recommend going non-OEM, or is it a principle that should be maintained for All BMW models? I'm looking to change an E90 oil level sensor and the price difference between OEM and aftermarket seems unnecessary, what are your thoughts?
@ShopLifeTV

Hey! I usually stick to OE manufacturers mainly for fitment reasons. There are times where upgrades are good, mainly for suspension and when you start modifying cars. Sensors stick with OE for sure
Well I'm going all out on my N52 bema all new hoses seals sensors gaskets ignition coils plugs filters the full monty I ant leaving anything out because I don't want to be visiting the engine bay anytime to soon buddy 😊

Dude….. I did my heater core hose , it sucked. Definitely not for the faint of heart, really gotta know what your doing
I ripped everything off at the front to take out the engine not knowing wtf I was doing 😂😂 now I don’t remember where everything goes 😭
My lower radiator hose one stay on
I've replaced every coolant hose, the water pump thermostat radiator coolant tank and there's still a leak somewhere, I can't see or feel any on the hoses but I see drips on the trans cooler lines coming from somewhere up above, I haven't pressure tested it yet, I'm at a loss as to where it's coming from. There also still oil leaking from somewhere, I've replaced the oil pan gasket, the oil filter housing gasket the vamos hose which was leaking really bad the valve cover gasket and still there's oil leaking, it's not the work I did, it's not dripping on the ground like it was before, but you can smell it coming through the vents and see it on the drivers side of the block right below the intake manifold it also has a p0171 and 174 plus a p01083, the engine runs great with only 93,000 miles on it, I can't pass inspection because none of the monitors will set.
