I installed an aftermarket radiator with out knowing I had a EAC 328i! As such, that radiator didn't have the adapter space... it worked, but I quickly found out about the CHECK ENGINE light. Although I just replaced the radiator, I ordered the one from your link, and followed your instructions. IT WORKED! Although I went through 2 radiators, it was still cheaper than the BMW OEM ($600)! Hi there so I was at bmw for a diagnosis on different issue and they said I need a new EAC sensor and I then got my registration due letter right after and I need smog. So super happy to come across your vid and hope this works. I just want to ask do you know will it work on my car? 2009 328i. I looked under the hood and it says california sulev so I’m guessing it will but I wanted to check before I order the part. Thanks so much!!

Yes the radiator has to space for the sensor so if you’re replacing the sensor for the first time there should be another empty spot there for you to buy the new sensor do the re-wiring and insert it

can this be adapted to any radiator? I bought an N51 but the guy said he changed the radiator hence the code... little did I know that I think it has to be an special kind of radiator and I have my suspicions that he replaced it with the regular kind and not theone that comes with the n51s... So if I have a non N51 radiator, can I install this sensor and make it work or do I have to get another radiator? Also I just happen to have another bmw exact year (2009) and model (328 i) the only difference is the chassis (e90 vs e92), would it work if I exchange the radiator? I need this one to pass smog... thanks!

No, because there’s no sensor port on those other radiators There are some little holes that the sensor has to go into so you have to replace the radiator again

What kind of Mercedes is that sensor for? I’m trying to find it because it’s all out of stock but have no idea what’s model Mercedes

do you know if the manual trans piece for drain is crucial to using this radiator with a manual? i used the same one and used the shorter piece, maybe i broke it, but it is spewing coolant out of the little hole on bottom driver side. please help as i have no connection that needs to go there for my car

If you’re running a manual transmission, you need to use the manual drain plug inside the radiator it is critical when the plugs go in there’s certain channels inside the rod that it blocks off if you noticed one plug is longer than one automatic transmission requires more cooling than manual, so yes, it’s very critical

@@colerobinson1187 I feel you with that one BMW is a car If you’re going to do some work in a specific area and you might think other things need to be taken care of just do it at the same time when I replace the radiator sensor. And the radiator I did the water pump thermostat. Vanos gasket. Everything that needed to be taken care of in the front. I change the hose, change the belt and just call it a day. Right now I need to do the oil catch pan gasket and I’m gonna buy the engine mounts to the replace them at the same time. Because I’m going to drop the sub frame.

I bought my 328i this week and the guy sold me saying that he took to the dealer cause it had some lights on the dash, so they said that he has a bad catalytic converter. So me and my friend were checking with a computer and we find out that they replaced the radiator for another one with no sensor. My question is, while the ECA is a environmental catalytic thing, could that be the reason for the catalytic converter lights? Or you think it might be the bad catalytic converters bad? “My has 196k miles thanks

If your car is a sulev mode you will need to replace the radiator get the one with the sensor the way you can tell is there’s a sticker on the hood if your car is sulev then you definitely have a bad catalyst converter, but it would say something at lean in bank, 1&2

If you bought the exact radiator that I have in the description, it’s a perfect fit there’s two plastic pieces you have to remove from the old radiator to put on the new one for the radiator fan to sit properly and if you try to install both at the same time, it’s going to be a tight fit. You should install one at a time. Sometime oil cooler lines block it from sitting down properly, so you might need to shift that out the way from the bottom. Make sure you install the correct drain plug. Also, one is for manual one is for automatic.

Excellent video brother. You should be a college professor. I found a radiator leak on my sisters 2007 328i today and I just learned it's a SULEV because FCP EURO wants $640 for a genuine radiator. I did my research and found out why it had to be a genuine radiator, the sensor. Now that I've ran into your video, can I purchase a CSF radiator with the mounting holes like the one you got and reuse the sensor from the old one so I will be able to pass smog? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Well, yes, use the glue that I listed in the description because you don’t want it to fall out and that’s the recommended glue to use so the sensor is able to read through the glue we don’t want the glue to block signals. I didn’t even know that was a thing glue can block signals. So everything is in the description with the links for everything you need.

There should be a second sensor hole there so you should be able to just buy a new sensor and put it in the second hole because once you remove the sensor it’s gonna break off so you should have one more hole there

My man roy I bought the radiator that you said to get now I can’t put my fan back in I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, but the fan is very tight to get back in there

Sure, you can do only problem with that is I’m not sure if the lifespan of the radiator you could still get probably five years out of a used one

You put the new sensor into radiator incorrectly. You pushed the far side clip into the radiator fins. It would probably still work, but each clip has a home on the radiator port.

The tank you install does not have the sensor. That’s why you’re having a problem you need to replace the tank. If you check the link in my bio, you will see the original tank it’s you’ll also see the off the market so you know which one to buy based on price once you replace the tank and get the sensor you’re good you can’t reuse the oil sensor it has to be replaced also

I got it in the mail and I did the quick switch I guess I'm supposed to erase my check engine light cuz when I stuck it in it stayed on but when I remove the check engine light hopefully everything works out fine I also had to change out a battery had to register a die-hard battery 70 ah I had it off my E46 with a warranty so you said I shouldn't have no problem correct thank you

this is for code p2570 and 2ada correct?

For 2ada I normally get that code when the coolant level is low p2570 means of sensor is going bad is your radiator leaking? Also, did you check if the sensor was disconnected? Check if the Sproat of the air sensor is broken off

@@PistonPlay I have the same code and the radiator is leaking on the 2007 n51 sulev. Got this Volvo Radiator Anti-Tamper Device - Genuine Volvo 31321504 from FCP Euro for $72.00 It's the same part as the Mercedes with a different connector.

As you can see from the comments, the problems got solved from my video but make sure to do a diagnostic check even though you scanned and it tells you the error code to check if things are unplugged check if your radiator is leaking
