Disting EX Multisample piano driven by Subsequence

Yesterday I updated my Teletype/Grid sequencer, Subsequence, with a button to toggle the chord output between triads and 7th chords. Works for Disting, Just Friends, and i2c2midi. Here's a weird demo banging out all 7th chords on Disting via i2c.
I also had the idea to send the harmonizer output from Subsequence (driven by Marbles) to Disting's CV/trigger ins and it seems to work okay but I'm not really sure how it's handling note stealing (Subsequence kills previous notes with every new chord and I'm not yet sure how that interacts with notes triggered via analog ins).
One thing I'll have to show in a different video is how the Disting EX Multisample variant of Subsequence it set up to alternate between voices with every chord so you can set the release value on Disting and let the chords overlap a bit. Sounds real nice on strings and samples with a long tail, but I was getting some pops and crackles the I set the release too long here. I have seen some improvements with pops and crackles since replacing the garbage card Disting came with, but maybe I still haven't found The One. HMU with any suggestions.

this is really well done, I have Teletype and Disting EX, do I need i2C to run this ?

Not necessarily. The sequencer outputs CV and i2c (and in their example I’m using both at the same time). If you went to play chords, you just need an i2c jumper cable between the modules. The harmonizer (notes that fill in between the chords) are just CV from the front panel of Teletype. TT is also outputting chord triads over CV so if you have something like a sequential switch you can use that to switch between the notes and make a strumming type thing happen.

@@ModularBeat I ordered an i2C cable, specifically for bringing TT, JF, EX together. Very impressed. it sounds like you can use TT to run multitimbral, on JF, or EX. break down your setups, this is killer ( I forked your sequencer on GitHub) ... very impressive.

@@ModularBeat This sounds great, can you walk us through your chords and sequences setups ? Monome is having a workshop in Delhi, NY coming up (Sept 24,25). You should consider going, and presenting. You are crushing it on TT :)

@@Emily.risney Aw thanks so much. The workshop sounds amazing (I'm just getting into Norns and am dabbling with field recording) but I'm not going to be able to make it this year. I definitely don't *feel* qualified to teach anyone about Teletype, but am happy to share what I have learned if you have any questions or topics I can address. The core of these scripts is pretty much just using N.CS to create chords and most of the complicated stuff is trying to cram in all of the Grid stuff.
Can you recommend where I can buy an I2c cable?

Search for "Dupont Wire Female to Female" and look for ones where the black plastic connectors on the end are separated from one another so they can work for various pin configurations. You just peel off 3 of those cables in one chunk and use them like a 3x1 pin cable. You'll likely end up with more than you need but extras can be used for things like connecting to an Intellijel case's MIDI/USB ports so it's nice to have spares.
