I don't really think there's much argument lol. Especially with its 8hp footprint; 12hp with MIDI Breakout. Crazy how much it can do.

I have a few Disting MK3s and a Disting Mk4 and they are wonderful. considering this beast. My favorite thing is the Mk3 that I have set to record full time every time I press play. I never miss a sound on my modular.

@@vertigev I have the outs from my modular out doubled to the Disting mk3 and then it is set to the Audio Recorder program and triggered by the main clock every time it starts up. (Pamela's has an "on" mode.) I also have an SD to microSD converter hooked to the back with a ribbon cable so that I can easily access the files without removing the Disting mk3. I have to dump files every time I hit about 512 files I think? I have a REALLY fast 32gb SD card in there. I think I could get away with an 8gb but none of those are as fast. The speed is needed or you get short files as it records and then gives out.

Played this in the background whilst doing yoga this morning. Perfect!! So after I get my Happy Nerding 4x St Mixer and Joranalogue - Link 2 I'll have an 8hp hole left. Space is very limited in my case (107hp) and I do not want to expand or buy any other units. I want a single dedicated synth where each module has been carefully thought through (and preferably has multiple functions). Was gonna leave this for a micro O&C module. Originally I wanted two Disting EX's but after buying one I decided not to since the screen was too small for my eyes. Well actually it turned out there' nothing wrong with the screen but with my glasses!!! I can see the EX OLED screen better without them so looks like I need to take a trip to the opticians for a new prescription!! That has now put me back on track into getting another Disting EX. With these constant updates and sheer brilliance of what we already have, it seems like a no brainer! Mmmm... I wonder if there will ever be an algorithm to take line level audio to CV and vice versa? That would really make me sell one of my kidneys! Got some saving to do ;-)

Hey ES, quick question! If I want to efficiently run MIDI thru from controller --> FH-2 --> Disting EX, what would be the most efficient way to do that? Could I get away with it using the ES Midi Breakout? Lovely wavetable btw, I definitely will want to put it on my EX.

  • @ExpertSleepersLtd

What do you mean by 'efficient' here? You can directly connect the FH-2 and disting EX via their breakout headers.
