Growth costs money. Disney+ went into the red to maximize subscriber growth. They have 150 million subscribers after less than 5 years. When Disney+ was lauched, their most optimistic projection estimated that they wouldn't reach 150 million subscribers until 2025. Now they can reduce expenses to focus on retaining subscribers.

In the UK Disney Plus is massive value for money because for £9 you get Disney all the Disney content all old and new Disney shows and films, all Marvel content that has ever existed in film and TV except the old Spider-Man films, all Star Wars content old and new, but you also get all Hulu, FX, ABC and National Geographic context and the entire catalogue of 20th Century and Search Light studio movie, plus some BBC and ITV dramas and even some Japanese anime and Korean dramas, for no extra cost. UK Disney Plus has more quality content than any other streaming service with that much content and would be the last if the streaming service I would get rid of due to this.

You missed a very big source for turning a profit that did more then the password sharing crackdown did and that's turning upcoming shows into movies. Besides canceling shows outright they would have taken hundreds of millions off of Disney+'s accounts by turning projects into movies and putting that money on Disney films books or Lucasfilms books, etc.

I was just at Disneyland and I gotta say, their Ms Marvel meet and greet in Avengers Campus was one of the best character interactions I've ever had there. The performer had the PERFECT energy for the character and as far as characters are concerned, that was the highlight of the trip. I don't think they would still have the character in the park regularly if they weren't seeing how popular she is with the fans. Shuri is also very popular.

Must not be too popular her show on Disney+ is one of the lowest viewed shows out of the Marvel shows and her last movie lost hundreds of millions of dollars. People were expecting it and Black Panther(a much better movie comparatively speaking) to be pivotal to the plot. No one expected Ant man and the Wasp to be the most important of those three movies, but it absolutely was.
