Personal opinion but disgaea 6 is the bad one. However it has some things to make up for it but the renoved features ruins the game. Still kinda fun but it boggles my mind how someone thought that was a good idea.

@@powerrangerblue8566 Yeah Disgaea 6 is definitely the worst in the series now. I'd say Disgaea 4 and 2 are the best overall. Story-wise, I'd say Disgaea 1,2, and 4 are the best ones. Gameplay-wise, probably Disgaea 2, 4,and 5. I can give Disgaea 3 one thing, and that is while it's kind of a regression story-wise, it nonetheless retains and makes some improvements from Disgaea 2. Also, it's anime opening is pretty solid as well.

"ooh it's gonna keep me from buttonmashing like crazy, ooh i'm busy with work/college and real life stuff", if you're busy you shouldn't be playing games. specially disgaea games, makes ZERO sense. "oh but u can turn it off", it's like saying in Street Fighter you can now activate a button that auto comboes for you. you register comboes, press one button in the battle and baam, does the hardest combo ever. would u turn it off? what for, then? the challenge? because it does make one player distinct from one another. the one who practices to get good and the one who sucks and is ashamed to admit it. and in disgaea, getting to max stats is supposed to be a task of patience, not lazyness.

Bro, Champloo was no joke my favourite character, every scene with him was gold. Mao was a close second.

Personally I like Disgaea 3 a lot, my least favorite Disgaea game would have to be 5. The game itself is fine, the characters just don’t have as much charm, impact, or whatever for me IMO when compared to characters we’ve gotten in the past.

Ya I got 5 last year and the characters are a little off. 1 through 4 or uhhh i mean 2,3 and 4. I actually have not played any of the other ones

I see a deep, endless game full of insanity and endless possibilities. It’s a great game. You may not like it, but it’s a fantastic game.

Huh? The worst? What make you say that?

Disgaea 3 was the last in the series with the Majin class that looked like Super Saiyans. The fire demons and amount of DLC characters for it was also amazing. I respect the story is very zany, and not as enthralling compared to others in the series, but D3 is still my fave, very closely followed by D4.

I remember clearly that I didn't want to play Disgaea 3, because of the razor sharp reviews it received, and in the end, I spent more than 200h in it. Loved the story after redoing it a second time, loved testing all DLC on Vita and exclusive story of Rutile, and so on. Disgaea 4 fed me up with its Pirates and its dialogues, so after one run, I couldn't finish a second one and postgame was subpar. Anyway, Disgaea 3 made something many games can't brag about. They tried. They actually tried to improve the recipe. With the square Geoblocks, with the W attacks (what you showed is from Disgaea 5 and it's not the same thing), with the Forte Weapon, with Magichange and Clubs. They tried to change the game. Maybe they didn't do it right the first time, but they tried again with Disgaea 4, and they kept only the best for D2 and 5, which are brilliant as far as game system is concerned. And if you ask me what's the worst game in the franchise, it's the 6, no doubt. Everything they tried to build was burnt to the ground, so that hellish Auto-Attack mode can deal everything. What a letdown, for me at least.

I'm with you. I have real hate for D6 and now D7. D7 is actually not that bad, the auto is a "skip phase" thing, so it doesn't matter if you use it or not, because everyone should use it. it feels like a feature and doesn't ruin the gameplay for me, but yea, I wish we could stay with the old formula. get in stage, kill everything, lvl up to 9999, reincarnate, get in stage, kill everything, enjoy powercreep. I've done that so many times in D1 while listening to music or watching youtube, it's the most fun I've had in disgaea games. and when I got bored of leveling, I would go through Item World. D2 IW is super fun, D1 is very simple but not bad with accelerators.Yaa, I wish they would stick with these simple formulas.

This entire video becomes useless when you realize 2/3 of the video is a dude talking about how Disgaea 3 is bad because a game in the same series released after it and its VN spin off had the same stuff. Its like saying that Super Mario Bros for the NES is bad because New Super Mario Bros has the same stuff but its better.

Its actually my favorite one hater. And usually when you play an rpg its half storyline. Mao is awesome. Yep geo blocks suck

Disgaea 3 is actually my favorite right next to Disgaea 1, its Disgaea 2 that I didnt like the most out of the 4, to me the order of favorite to least is 1, 3, 4, 2. one cause of the cast(nostalgia maybe but I like that trio), with 3 it was the funniest game by far and had the most relatable MC, 4 was out right goofy and fun but I didnt vibe with the whole vampire werewolf angel romance triad thing, and 2.. I have nothing positive to say about 2. Edit: the rest after 4, I pretend they dont exist until ill get to see what 6 is all about, 5 was edge lord cringe and 6 had too many toilet jokes.

Lol, personally 2 has always been my favourite. Huge improvement over the first in every way except maybe the story. Even then, I still prefer it's story to the first. It also introduced us to Axel, who's probably my favourite character in the series next to Adel himself. I think the two of them work great together.

@@AizakkuAnalysis Well if you mean Disgaea 2 Dark hero days than ya, system wise its better than Disgaea 3, but I personally think its an unfair comparison, its basically just a Disgaea 2 DLC standalone while Disgaea 3 is well a game that didnt receive the same favoritism as to get a game/DLC that that would implement newer systems as a standalone to put it on par with Disgaea 2 Dark hero days(not Disgaea 2 vanilla).

@@user-ze7hp2jf5x I didn't even say dark hero days. I think either version of Disgaea 2 is better than what Disgaea 3 offers. I consider Disgaea 3 to be a cheap dlc before an actual HD Disgaea game was made with D2 and 4. Adding on to that, I think the Disgaea 3 cast being added as dlc to dark hero days is a better way to experience those characters. The only reason I'd play 3 is to listen to the story for the first time. Also, didn't 3 literally get the same treatment with the vita version that added all the dlc and new end game scenarios?

@@AizakkuAnalysis in terms of what D2 offers in comparison to D3, thats a no brainer to say that D3 offers much much more: the system skill development(evilities), 3D Geoblocks system, Item world improvements and a duplicate of that in the form of a new character world(?), a monster combination system, special attacks and items combination system, homeroom shifting ability bonuses system just to name a few. btw this is where the main issue with D3 comes for players, adding new systems doesnt inherently mean that those systems are good which is why in Disgaea D2 most of them were removed. so saying D3 is a cheap dlc is like saying that D3 didnt push the envelop on what they added to the game(again just because they added a bunch of things doesnt mean that they are good for the overall gameplay experience or game). as far as the vita D3 dlc... well given that they implemented so many bad systems made the dlc basically the same, unlike DHD which sought to implement and improve existing systems while taking user experience of D3 into account. basically with DHD they knew what works and what doesnt and given it was a bare bone system in comparison as in the base they didnt need to rework the entire game just to get rid of the systems that players disliked.

To be fair... fuck geoblocks... otherwise everything in my opinion is pretty good.

Best Disgaea story ever. People who do not like the story of Disgaea 3 do not understand it. They do not understand that Mao is in fact the most complex Disgaea character. He has many thick layers of personality traits. In addition, the story is super complex, with references and symbolism all over the place. But the viewer must be smart to catch them.

I strongly agree with you. I made a video about it (but it's in French, I should put English subtitles). Mao and Almaz are truly the most complex protagonists of Disgaea, they have a whole topic of "Eros and Thanatos". But there are so much dialogues, random events and "trope" characters, it may be hard to be deeply interested in the story. Took me a second run to actually begin to find its quality, and the Raspberyl DLC to be truly convinced.

Those were fair arguments I had actually forgotten a lot of the bad in disgaea but it's still a good game.

You misspoke. PS4 was not when this game dropped. Disgaea stop being tactical the minute you million states. Im pretty sure Diagaea 2 and 6 are the worst.

The ps4 wasn't out. disgaea D2 came out 5 years after disgaea 3, not 2. the disgaea 3 cast was, for the most part, not dlc in dark hero days save for almaz and saphire. Everyone else was unlocked in post game for free. Finally, you said you'd spend 20 minutes talking about it and only made a five minute video. Just 4 errors with this video by the time I'm one-fourth in. Lots of misinformation, I hope your other content is better because this isn't what I expect from analysis.

Nah disgaea 3 isn't a bad game! The game did a great job in making the characters impactful The one that have crappy writing is disgaea 5.

By no means is this the worst in the series. I would say that goes to D2 or DD2. However this one is an acquired taste! If you hate the school setting, like my high school dropout friend then yeah you'll probably hate it. If you dislike Mao's eccentric nature, then you might dislike it. However I for one like Mao and Almaz over Laharl's constant griping. It's a decent cast, but one place it does fall short admittedly is the sound track. It's definitely the worst sound track. I was also a bit salty they were using the old ps2 sprites on the brand spanking new PS3, I expected Disgaea 3 to come out with graphics that looked like Disgaea 4, which is the best style they've ever done. I place Disgaea 3 solidly in the middle of the pack. 1 is better 4 is better and 5 is debatably better, but it's close. I wouldn't rank 2 or D2 over it though. That said Disgaea 3 does re-tread some of the same steps Disgaea 1 does but the emotional resonance is not as potent. I can't judge D6 or 7 but I'm VERY negative on those because the 3d models make me want to gouge my eyes out.

What I could extract from the video: Disgaea 3 is the worst Disgaea, because it's the worst Disgaea.
