Disaster Detail Tar Removal! ZL1 Camaro dirtiest Car EVER

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I have never seen so much tar on a car in my life! This ZL1 Camaro drove on fresh tar and oil in a rain storm! The result.... a satisfying detail video! This video will talk about how to safely remove tar and fresh oil from a cars paint. The main product we used was Gyeon tar. The car needed paint correction too and I shot some insane before and after paint correction photos!!

Anyone that has ever had to clean tar off of their car before can appreciate the work that went into restoring this cars paint. Great Job! Wow!

Lol this car is used routinely in Chicago! But status detail has him covered! Whatever happens I can fix. But if it's much worse than this ... I might not be able to fix next time lol

Good result. I'm sure the Gyeon Tar is a very good product, but it's also pricey. In cases like this where it's more of a fine layer of tar instead of globs, you could get a similar result for much less money just using odorless mineral spirits. A gallon can be had for under $20 at any hardware store.

In my line of work using something that works fast, efficiently and safely is worth every penny. But other ways to remove it can work. Just not what id recommend

Hey Evan very cool to see this Zl1 back. I can’t get enough of your videos. I’m going to pick up some Gyeon tar and Ultracut. Also, when you did the polish you would have to reapply ceramic corrrect? Also when will carpros new products be added to your website. I’m looking forward to CarPro InnerQD and ReTyer

The car was ceramic coated again after all the work. The paint correction step was pretty abrasive. In general after a light polish, tar removal or water spot removal I'd recommend a topper be applied again. Like exo. I'm excited for the new carpro and Gyeon stuff!!! I'll do a fast test on them when I can get them in. They should end up on the store asap. Likely Dec or January.

So in general how often are you throwing out your wiping towels? I think i saw in a video before that you throw away certain cleaning towels everytime. Was just curious if I have to throw out my towels each time.

Ceramic towels are one time use but saved for random stuff that's not for sensitive surfaces. Basically they are down graded until it's a tire wet applicator then trash. My drying towels and edgeless towels are pretty dedicated and clean and washed and reused

So getting your car ceramic coating want help keep this from happening?

  • @STATUSDETAIL

Not exactly. This is a insane and extreme example. If this happens and you literally go get it detailed same day and use lots of tar remover it may wash off. If it sets in for days or weeks as this did then it's much harder to get off. Something similar happened to a bmw i4 recently. If this happens it just sucks all around lol. Avoid fresh oil and fresh tar in the rain. Especially if it's on a highway for many miles.
