    Santa Cruz Skateboards is the oldest continuously running skateboard company in skateboarding. Somewhere around 1973 or 74, Richard Novak, Doug Haut, and Jay Sherman founded the business, NHS is an acronym from their initials; Novak, Haut, and Sherman. Sherman was bought out early on, then Haut sold his share to Novak. And Haut went on to start his own surfing line business. This is all directly from my dad who knows them and went to Santa Cruz High with them.

  • @floreschris5574

    It cam get bouncy with a flick of a switch. When you want to go fast, you make the suspension stiff, so your peddling power isn't absorbed by the suspension . When you want to go downhill, you just flick the switch, and you have traditional tremendous suspension.

    No it's actually the same idea behind the helmet design it looks like. Helmets crack after absorbing the hit instead of bouncing. The bounce is the counter effect of the hit and at high speed collision you don't want a bounce back. I guess same idea behind the no bounce on this bike

  • @lucky7s94

    @lucky7s94

    15 күн бұрын

    Just because it is stiff does not mean throwing 180lbs on it will make it necessarily bouncy or ride terrible. Spring rate and absorption rate are two different things but go hand in hand if the combo is right. It's more or less stiff because of dampening stiffness... not spring pressure. Seems pretty dialed in to me.

    This is my main downhill bike and I can tell you it rides like a dream and feels like a Cadillac going down any type of terrain whatsoever. The thing with the V10 is that you have to ride it like you stole it. It takes a lot of effort to wake up the bike and get it performing to its maximum capabilities…

    Woo. This makes me miss my old bike that was stolen in Boulder. Last time I pay thousands for a bike…no I take it back. Once you ride one of these, you’ll never want to ride a “normal” bike again.

    It's not because of the bike itself but because of the suspension. If you set the air pressure or rebound too high it will bounce.

    Man those clipless shoes and pedals it makes my soul squirm 😂 i tried them out at a bmx track for the first time and went to jump a table top with a big dip right after. Front tire hit the ground and i fell to the lowest part of the track on my face with bike still clipped to my shoes. Ended up with a concussion, was forgetting my name and passing out after getting up multiple times. Chipped my tooth and got 12 stitches in my lip. My lip got ripped in half and now i have a funny bump and a numb spot on my lip 😂

    How did that feel jumping or riding up curbs? Usually I lift my front wheel then back as it’s about to hit so stop impact but surely you’d have to be extremely strong to do it with that or it’s smooth?
