Wise? He is in the entertainment business, and raking in millions via all these KZread videos through the money he gets from the advertising. Sad really. He could move to a more honest site, but that would mean a "digit detox" for his income.

I have been on methadone n benzodiazepines. Since I was 12 . It stops me from moving forward I got into drugs after the death of my sister she drowned. I feel that was the start of it all . However I found childhood very challenging. When I started using Opiates it made me feel like I had come home so to speak . I see know just how wrong I was . The need to be able to feel and be at peace in my own presence. ❤

100%! Separating individuals from the dependency on their mobile phone/device is vital before any further meaningful understanding of any condition can begin. I see it at the hospital where I offer emotional support to the patients, however the fundamental awareness of this fact is still not built in to the hospital's recovery program. It needs to be as soon as possible. Thank you Eckhart x

I am so very grateful for technology because without it I couldn't see or talk to my brother and his family who lives thousands of miles away. Plus, I would not of met my beautiful girlfriend if it were not for this channel, and she also lives thousands of miles away. But because of technology me and my girlfriend are able to talk to one another everyday and are now in the process of planning our future together. So I agree, technology if it's used in the right way is a wonderful thing. Thank you so much for giving us a brilliant explaination and trustworthy advice on this topic Eckhart.

Hi Stephen the Internet is like all other human inventions, it holds the potential for so much good and sadly so much harm. 3D printers enable vital medical equipment to be downloaded and transferred from one side of the globe to the other in under an hour, unfortunately they also hold the potential for guns be downloaded equally as quickly. It's how we humans choose to use our inventions, for either good or bad that really matters and says most about us 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Still we are forced to take in moving digital images because its a survival reaction of nature, if we spot a movement we have to look at it and identify. Thats the first reaction. And yeah ok if the human mind comes in, which is social, it will be a subjective avalanche of meaning thats added to the initial reflex. Another thing that keeps us hooked is the artificial light especially when using devices in the dark in bad. We have artificial light, daylight and the light of being born, when we literally reach the end of the birth canal for the first time.

its not the smartphone technology that brought you this insight. If the badguy is compulsive thinking that was there before the tech, its also the one that gave birth to the tech you hold so dear. So insight must be the memory of the now that always rebelled against externalization. It means the now is not subjected to desire and the world. Then its like a sun that cannot even explode or die.

This is not a reaction, simply an objective response. Firstly, if no one is wrong, then everyone is right... right? How blasé, superficial. When people make erroneous statements, they ought to be directly challenged and given the opportunity to challenge their own stance. Kind of like, when the Zen Master will strike a practitioner when they are nodding off. It's a wake up call, nothing more. Terming it “unconscious” or “ego” is just not on, that in itself is a put down. That is saying “do not question me”, “I have no interest in your point of view”, “I am not open to dialogue”, "you do not know as much as me", etc, etc, etc. So again, Eckhart, not actually understanding human psychology very deeply makes himself out to be a hypocrite. So full of contradiction, that it is just sad that so many sit there hearing with gullible ears and not actually listening to a word. There is the part where he's promoting apps for meditation. However, if we look at these, what do they do? Any process that the mentality follows will simply stupefy. Why, as it is encouraging the mentality to be Master in the most insidious way. Do you get what that means? I'll give a hint, comparison. It made me laugh when Eckhart said “young people who are totally un-centered”, then immediately follows “they have no space-ness within”. Well what does that mean? An un-centered mind has space, that's for sure. Whereas a centered mind is one that is a construct of thought, narrowed down to conform to whatever state is desired. So again, Eckhart is off the mark here. The mind in its natural being has no center, so I wouldn't go looking for one. As for the communication aspect. The only issue I have with folks always on their phones is they are missing the greater aspect of direct communication. All the gestures, the intonations, etc. The written word is a poor means to convey one's meaning. Yes, most apps are purposely designed to boost the ego, (how many pressed the like button?), and that is due to ego's writing the progams to extract as much cash as possible. It's the same with business. All business is about ego, yes, even so-called non-profits. Money is the ultimate delusion. So maybe, if Eckhart is a “spiritual teacher”, he ought to get an understanding of just how grossly harmful money is to all and steer folks in a way beyond that murky messy business which has corrupted almost every human for the past few thousand years. There is a simply way too.

Hey, as you wrote a comment maybe you will be happy about an answer. First of I would assume that you feel right about many things that are "wrong teachings", first it would be important to find out why its so important for you to have the right answer. The teachings neither sell or do call people to actions that could cause harm, still you have so much motivation to tell everybody how about your critic about them. That itself is actually something that has potential to understand how the teachings failed. First of terms like "this made me laugh" feel like you are not really interested in understanding the teachings. You are rather upset and all these people who benefit from them are just stupid. That behaviour is not something to work with, considering this teaching or any teaching about mental health. Its okay if you do not like this topic, but please be aware that this is just something inside of you that wants to be right. Myself included there are many people who dont feel like they have control of what is going on in their life or the world. But there is nothing gained from accusing others. I think you have some great points and you are right in some ways, but this is about how to deal with these feelings. I dont say you are wrong, there is much potential in the topics you argue about and some things you wrote are really on the spot. But I feel like you are facing your frustration towards the wrong people. We are not "blind" and we all have been in different positions in different environments, but there is so much love here and its not because we are all following wrong believes, I believe we all have bad feelings inside, but this is about letting them go, because life is just to short to be angry. You are also very important and in the end its all about changing others lives or the life of people in need.
