I've owned my Eventide H9 for a few years, but I've never really dug into it. Let's check it out a bit more by making a track. All tracks were recorded exclusively with the Eventide H9 with very minimal reverb, EQ and Compression.

for the momment discovering the H9 ..HARPEGIATOR one of my fav , i'm not guitarist for the moment it is patched on the mixing desk and i use it to mix dub music , it rocks well on drums and piano lines. by the way great video , inspiring , i'll give it a try with a guitar or synth , i start to see that playing and rec with the H9 directly brings new ideas ... different ideas than when used at the mixing stage. Thanks

@@JIDEHHIGHELEMENTS the harpeggiator is a lot of fun! The buddy that bought my original H9 core is a huge fan of the Harpeggiator and he's made some really cool tracks with it

I really like the synth setting there. Do you have any experience with the Boss SY-1? I picked one up recently and have ben very impressed with it's tracking and the sounds it can get.

Very nice sounds - I'd have a hard time not trying an HX Stomp at that price point though.

The HX Stomp does a lot these days too huh. Maybe better than the H9, seems like an improvement with a lot of the stuff I have issues with on this pedal.

for a new channel, you sure got your channel well set up. very organised. now just add that content and some Sm marketing. Im willing to bet this channel will grow incredibly once you "break through" the algorythm.

Do you feel there is signal degradation when running through the H9? Spending a lot of time on getting dry sound (clean and OD) right, ideally I would like to have the effects added to that sound and not altered. Love your channel!

Hey thanks so much Bart! At risk of angering some of the Eventide H9 fans, yes I do think there is noticeable signal degradation just in the sheer fact that all signal that passes through the H9 gets converted to digital. I keep mine on passive loops on my pedalboard switcher, so I don't always have signal running through it. But when I used it as my volume pedal I did notice a bit of tone loss.

good question man! I've asked that to myself many times, and I ended up using the "stereo" functionality of the h9 to have loops in 2 places--the first is right at the beginning for things like octavers, synthy stuff, other filter things, and then the 2nd is right before the delay and reverb but after all the gain stages (also after the volume pedal) for things like modulation, maybe the occasional additional delay or reverb, even some EQ sometimes. Its all set up with my switcher that controls it with midi too, so its a little complex

@@DanMmusic whoa, very clever. i guess that means the h9 can be configured to dual mono instead of true stereo for that to work properly without it sending half of the signal to the individual loops. think i'll put mine post-drives and before my fake amp iridium and wet effects. i appreciate the info!

I completely agree it sounds incredible, but I just don’t love mine. I hate the mobile interface, and the limited to one effect thing is tough for me, especially with how much it cost.
