Lady Diana Spencer was the daughter of an Earl and was hand picked at 19 to become the bride of heir to the throne, Charles, Prince of Wales. But he was already in love with another woman and the fairytale marriage soon devolved into a messy divorce splashed across the tabloids. Though she would never get to be Queen, Diana’s glamor, likability and compassionate charity work made her the Queen of Hearts. In 1997 she died tragically in a car crash while being chased by paparazzi.

Diana kept up contact with the family over the years and would meet them for tea. Imagine living in London and your babysitter turning out to be Princess Diana! They attended the wedding and the mother of the family returned for Diana's funeral as well.

That poor girl. Still a teenager herself and she was treated like a brood mare by the Royal Family, all because they wouldn't let the heir to the throne marry the woman he actually loved. Both Diana and Charles were treated unfairly, but Diana more so, since she was given no guidance, no training, no support whatsoever. Just expected to pump out kids and keep quiet. Camilla didn’t want to marry him, she liked Charles but was in love with Andrew Parker-Bowles. Even if she had, Charles dragged his feet, and debs of her generation and social milieu had to get married fairly young or miss their chance. Many more debs coming along each year. It is said that she did not want to divorce her husband, despite his many affairs, or marry Charles when she did. She wanted to keep living a private married life and stay as Charles’s mistress. Oh, the mores and machinations of the British aristocracy! Charles did grow a spine when they actually married. He told the family that him marrying her was “non-negotiable”, as his parents were not keen on it but he has to get permission from the Queen. Charles would never do anything to remove himself from the line of succession (you can only abdicate if you are the monarch), as eventually becoming King is the whole point of his life. He would not exile himself from the family firm. Camilla wasn’t approved of because she had a “history”. Meaning she had been round the block a few times. In those days it was thought that the mother of future monarchs had to be “pure”. There couldn’t be other men around who had slept with the future Queen consort. Hence them focussing on Diana. In the book, she said that from a young age, she knew she had to, as she phrased it, “keep herself tidy” because she felt she had a destiny.

She hated Edward and Wallis for being true to their love and yet helped her grandson who was heir to the throne cheat on his wife?Camilla was in love with Andrew. Charles left for 8 months duty and she became engaged to Andrew and married him? They used Diana as a brood mare and if Camilla had an ounce of dignity she would have walked away. I never thought I would say it but when Australia has it's next referendum to get rid of the monarchy..THIS time I will vote yes. Every time I see a new documentary or read another book, I hated Charles and Camilla a little more. My mum says that whenever she saw Diana on TV and stuff she just radiated the warmest aura. She truly became The People's Princess and the way she was treated by the Royal Family, by Charles and by the press is actually atrocious and what's even worse is the feel no guilt or shame or remorse for it. I am so pleased the William and Harry keep her memory alive and keep the press at arms length. and honestly the more and more I find out about how disgustingly Diana was treated I understand more and more why Harry and Meghan left. Harry has literally said it himself he saw history repeating itself and didn't what what happened to his mother happening to his wife. A black hole was created in the world the day Diana died. My mum always says that Diana's death was so impactful that people were asked for ages where they were when they news broke. Mum mum says she was at home. And I was just existing as an entity as Diana's death occurred around the same time my mum found out she was pregnant with me. I am legitimately surprised I didn't end up with the middle name Diana.

Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth (the present Queen's mother) had their children before becoming Queen. don't know as Diana would have had the title, as she was divorced from the man who would be King. I have no doubt that William WILL return the HRH title to Diana when he becomes King.

It's so sad that she died so young. She was a person that brought attention to people with aids, that these people could have someone touch them. They needed the support and love, just like everyone else. Also taking a chance of walking on a lined mine. Diana had such a great heart , it was too bad that Charles didn't love her like he should have. Saving his love for Camilla and not Diana. The rest of the immediate family showed little love for her either. Covering up Charles's tryst with Camilla. Diana's only true happiness was her love and returned love of her Sons. Charles was so jealous of Diana's popularity that she had and he didn't. RIP to a wonderful princess that was gone too soon.

Diana was NOT rushed to the hospital. If she had been, she might have lived. We will never know.

She could’ve been brain dead. We don’t know all the details concerning her injuries.
