Queen Elizabeth II, 1926-2022
Queen Elizabeth II of the UK and common wealth realms has died after a reign of 70 years, 214 days. Her majesty passed away at her Balmoral estate in Scotland on the afternoon of September 8th, 2022. She was 96 years old. Because of the deterioration of her health, her family had been called to her bedside and she was surrounded by them when she died. Her son, Charles is now King and his wife, Camilla has officially been called Queen Consort by the Palace. They will remain at Balmoral tonight and return to London in the morning where the ascension council will declare him king and announce what his regnal name will be.
Elizabeth was the longest reigning monarch in British history and lived near center of many of the significant events of the last century. Her life has spanned a world war, the end of the British Empire, 14 British Prime ministers, countless social, political and technological changes and royal family upheavals. 4 out of 5 Britons were not alive before Elizabeth was Queen.
Let's take a look at her remarkable life...

@@dglynch222 My guess is that only the intro (up until 1:18) was recorded recently. Due to the change in audio quality at that very point, I assume the later part of the video (the one that recaps her life) was pre-recorded and probably already pre-rendered. The number of british PMs was probably a mistake.
It's so interesting to see some of the drastic changes throughout her life. She ultimately became queen because her uncle couldn't marry a divorced woman and keep his crown and now her son, that married a divorced woman, is king. It will be interesting to see how the next generation will continue to uphold and/or change traditional ideas moving forward. It's also amazing to me that my grandmother's generation saw the last coronation.

To be strictly accurate, Elizabeth would have become Queen eventually anyway if her uncle hadn’t abdicated as he never had any children. It just would have happened several years later, giving her a shorter reign.
When Philip died, we all knew this wasn't far away. My own grandfather, who was presented his OBE by the Queen in 1992, is currently on his deathbed. We aren't going to tell him about the Queen, as he is very traditional. He just turned 90, and was a Cambridgian history Professor Emeritus, specialising in the pacific theatre of war in ww2.

After 70 years on the British throne, Queen Elizabeth II died in her beloved Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022. She lived a long life and is considered a walking history. I hope Charlotte becomes Queen if her brother can’t bear children or if he does I hope its a daughter so we can have a Queen again (and to say again there is a law in 2013 where they disbanded male primogeniture in the succession where a son overtaking sisters for the throne and so if george bears a daughter as the eldest she will be the heir even if she has younger brothers. The Crown sucession act of 2013 determines the age of the heir than the gender ) 😊

@@juanchoresultay2704 Sorry but why does it matter if we have kings or queens that people are hoping George dies childless just so his sister gets the throne? Yes, if he has a daughter first, she would get the the throne. But how does anyone actually lose if he has a son first and we have all kings? We don't benefit more from the gender of the monarch. Plus we had a Queen for 70 plus years.

She was indeed like a grandma you've and your parents saw all ours life. It will take time to be used to the king Charles.
This woman is simply an icon, completely unreplaceable, never to be copied, or forgotten. HM Queen Elizabeth II reigned most successfully, admirably, and aptly. The vow of lifelong service she made to her people in a radio speech early on in her life was most successfully kept, which in itself is remarkable. However, to me, my favourite image of the late queen was the pictures of her in her military uniform, during her time of service as a mechanic and jeep driver. God bless the Queen, and God save the King.

We waited for hours & eventually the Queen & Prince Phillip arrived & we all waved our flags & they walked around & greeted a few people ((not me! Devastated). We have lived through much uncertainty in recent times and the Queen was a steadfast presence. She served her country with grace, fortitude and dedication. Thank-you for your service- your Majesty.
You did very well to put this video together so quickly
Thank you for sharing this tribute on the life of queen elizabeth the second.. We will miss queen elizabeth. R.I.P. 😔😪
I sat my boys down to watch this after school was very nice. Thank you for putting it out so quickly 🖤❤️🖤
Thorough, informative and compelling as always.
Thank you for this, its amazing!
6:12 “Young Elizabeth thus became the heir presumptive.” On being told by her sister that their father had become king: “Princess Margaret said, ‘Does that mean you'll be Queen?’ “And she [Princess Elizabeth] said, ‘Yes, someday.’ Princess Margaret said ‘Poor you.’” -Elizabeth Pakenham, Countess of Longford
Thank you 😊
Thank you for this wonderful video and the video from yesterday.👍❤️ Both did a fabulous job of expressing Queen Elizabeth the Second's life.🌹 You did it with wonderful sensitivity and dignity.🌹 Bravo!!!👏👏👏 And God bless the Queen as she is in heaven!👸🕊️🌹🙏
Nicely done informative tribute. My condolences to the queen’s family, and to Great Britain. It’s a time of transition and upheaval but may her own steadiness, steady you all. 🙏
Thanks for this video and others. I'm interested in English and European royalty and these videos have been very helpful. There were a lots of things that I didn't know about.
What an eventful life she led! Thank you for this wonderful summary video.
My condolences to the royal family she was a woman of principal I so admired her strength and tenacity may God hold each of her family in his hands rest in peace Majesty QUEEN Elizabeth
This was wonderful! As always. I realize you probably put this together quite quickly, but I did notice that you accidentally slipped into the present-tense a few times - e.g. "she receives daily red boxes," etc. Not meant to be a criticism, it's going to be hard for us all to amend our language regarding both HER and His Majesty King Charles III after most of us ONLY ever living under/during Her reign.
I've been looking out for you, Lindsey. I knew you'd have something out quickly. God bless the queen and I hope she's in a better place now (hopefully reunited with her husband)
I was waiting for this
I just watched your video on what happens after she passes last week. I didn't expect it to happen immediately but it's interesting to see things play out as they happen
You always do a great job with these mini European docs👍
This was very detailed video to be put out so quick
