Just love you two people's adventures! That's my kind of traveling! Exploring. watching you build stuff, fixing up your trailer, driving where you do - taking chances - I would go with you two anywhere and feel totally comfortable! You are definately 'self reliant' and trustworthy. I realize 'things' could happen but I would feel confident you would always figure it out! I especially loved the part where you were driving the road into "Valley of the Gods".....the scenery, the music....it was SO beautiful. Thanks for taking us along.

The white flowers are Datura, called "night shade"theyy are poisinous, but the ancient people used them in ceremonies.

That is a harsh environment that those early inhabitants chose to live in. Survival was finding something to eat each and every day. Those people were absolutely amazing!

The surface artifacts that are found in the southwest go back at least 10,000 years to the days of the wooley mammoth. At least in the more recent times, like a thousand years ago, they were farmers in that hot dry area. Amazing.

Your scenic segments with music in some of your videos are really good. I enjoy just watching and listening to them.

The road to Lake Powell you were talking about is not for the faint hearted. Wash board dirt,switchbacks galore and no garden rail. It goes up a wall. Butiful views, can see forever. Enjoy.

I believe that the petroglyph at (3:03) was done at or about 1063 BCE. Someone afterwards destroyed it by by adding the / to the bottom right side of the O. It's incredible that the person whom scratched in the original "1063" had the foresight that we would go to a BC-AD system in distant future. Not to worry-5 hundred years from now people will see it "1963" and say wow that petroglyph is over 5 hundred years old and like it just the same.

Hi Rick and Linda, I was in Mexican Hat May 31- June 3 of this year. I must say the RV Park there is the arm pit on the South West. LOL I did film a lot when I was there. Yes it was 100 while I was there. Don

Stayed there once at the RV park and the only thing that was memorable was the heavy rain we got at that time. All the washes came alive!

Yup, Another Cool Episode. They keep on coming and you are delivering some Super Groovy Places. I Knew I made the 'Right Choice' some 33-34 years ago to move & live in Utah. The Diversity is Unreal. I came for the Best Snow, and then wind up a Desert Dweller. Rick, you Sure do it Good. All the surrounding states are just Perfect Aswell, making for the 'Best in the West' for Exploring and Spiritual Diversity. You and Linda have the Calm & Coolest attitude of anyone On-the-Quest for Adventure. NICE. btw, your Theme Music is Tops. Have Always wanted to say that. Is it Hawaii an in origin??? Hello Vincenzo, I got that theme music from some Windows freeware a long time ago and it stuck. Utah it's a special place and we never can get enough of it. We're currently doing something different, travel wise, and we hope it works out so we get some interesting videos for you. I guess we'll see!

@@gonagain ........ My quarter allowance paid admission to theater, box of popcorn and coke. I watched a raffle for a free bike but never won. It was fun watching the stagecoaches run by the same place three or more times. But nobody cared. They were being chased by indians or bad guys. Our little theater was about 500 seats and everyone had a screaming kid on Saturday morning.

Just went through there this past Wednesday and stayed the night at Goosenecks State park . Maybe we'll go back in the fall and stop by Sand Island campground. Thanks for the video.

@@gonagain I thought I replied back to this last night I'm not sure why it isn't here. I still have trouble doing this on my phone but one day I'll get it figured out I hope. If you want rain you should see my last video I posted. We got over 7 inches in about an hour and the power was out again and raining to hard to start the Generator but again I had my 2 Bluetti's to hold me over until the rain let off. I can Travel just not as far in a day as I use to go. I can't do all the walking I want to do but I can still enjoy seeing what's close by.

Man, you sure go to some way out there places, but if I were there I would do that also. It is always better when you have it to yourself. Nothing like having room to breathe. Did you notice the spiral petroglyph, that is a portal to who knows where. My friend got pictures of one opening up in Colorado on the horizon near some petroglyphs. I would send you the pictures if I knew where to send them to. Take care my friend and stay cool.

Yes, they must have used ladders. In some other places you can see where the rock has fallen, but not here.

if flowers are them they close at about 5 pm

My regular route in spring and fall shoulder seasons....not so much from memorial day to labor day!

Beautiful area.Thanks for sharing. I wonder if those rocks with Spnge Bob, is a Geocache site?? I was wondering if this was faily current...I'd like to try that area in the Fall/Spring. That last scene reminded me of being a kid, the little towns we would build for playing with Hot Wheels.

Won’t be towing this trip, just comfortable in less space using my Hybrid RAV4 that I’ve converted with a full sized bed and 2000 watt inverter (I mentioned this earlier). This upload was so well filmed & edited! Your others are, too, but this just seemed even better.

That "Angel Trumpet" is the legendary Old West's "Loco Weed". It's real name is Jimsonweed (Datura stramonium) and is also known by other names: Jamison-weed, Jamestown-weed, Jamestown lily, thorn-apple, stink-wort, stinkweed, mad-apple, trumpet plant, loco weed, angel’s trumpet, devil’s, fireweed, etc. and yes it is poisonous to humans at least, In the olden times whenever a horse would eat it, the horse was destroyed because he would become addicted and would not want to do anything. He would travel for miles looking for it. In 1995 in El Paso, Texas two high school boys made up a "brew" of boiled Jimsomweed root and mixed it with liquor and both died.

The land was much higher back then some areas were cleared for roads some erosion

Hello Rick and Linda, thank you for sharing..! Do you use your home-made water filter system to process the water before you use it..?? I thought that video was really good...! BTW, although it appears your set-up is on bare rock (I notice piles of large rocks in the foreground impression at 13:50) , which has it's own challenges. When on desert ground, do you prep in and around your camp-site area by raking away any smaller rocks and/or debris for a more comfort under foot..??

Hello PJF! We never do prep a site except for picking up any trash we happen to see. The water filter we take along on our trips is the Sawyer filter with the one gallon bag because it fold up so small. We've never actually used it yet because we manage to get water from reliable sources. The filter we do use frequently is the carbon RV filter that removes bad taste because so many places have bad tasting water! That's the filter you can buy at Walmart that attaches to a hose. You'll find it in their RV section.

I imagine they just built ladders to do those petroglyphs, maybe up high to be seen from far off or they had the foresight to know what vandals the white man would become..lol.
