Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If you're into being off-grid and boondocking or doing dispersed camping whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations and 12v refrigeration.

The adhesive method looks like a good idea on your cargo trailer but I would be concerned gluing a panel to an RV with a membrane roof.
Pass for me. I'm of the keep it simple way of going.
Try northeast Michigan !! Lots of dark skies !!
It works for this man but pellets will NOT work in most wood burning stoves. Most wood stoves do NOT have a grate, and won't let enough air in for pellets.
I've been a fan for YEARS and I ran across this "older" video today. I have to say - you guys are soo... CUTE! I love the way you interact with each other and it really shows what a great relationship you have. I'm single and love it, but then I see YOU GUYS! 💖 THANKS for all your work with your channel. It's not always easy, I know. Responding to comments takes HOURS. Right?? So - great job shooting, editing, audio... and throw in the RELATIONSHIP stuff. Remodel! 😅Love it. Fan forever, and thanks again. 👍
That’s really dumb. No reason anyone should waste any money on that garbage. A 10 dollar clamp does the same thing, to ANY hitch.
You missed holes for ventilation
I wrap some electrical tape on the slide in.. doesn’t rattle…
It was The Great Northern Railway, not Burlington Northern. It was the furthest north railroad and that's why it was called the highline, not because it rose to the mountains.
A bolt through the receiver tightens the hitch to stop rattle, pretty standard here in Oz and a padlock can be used on the retaining pin if you don't want to pay for a locking pin. So all up $10 max.
I watch this when it first came out but I had to watch again today I sure miss hobo shoestring
Looking good Linda, looking good.
I dress like you all the time. I have never in my entire live worn shorts. I'm 74 years old.
Linda is amazing!
She's a keeper, for sure!
I don't know if I would trust the mechanism that moves the 2 pin halves. I think I would prefer to trust the single solid pin that runs all the way through the receiver.
I didn't learn anything, I didn't already know!
That's great!
Boy, you guys do make some strange sounds when you scurry around packing up...just sayin'. 😉
Uh huh.
What about tourists who do not have access to guns?
i was buying zero water filters for a year before i figured out that my fishes get better water than me they even have uv light step inbetween ha
The Sioux ran the Assinboine out of the Great Lakes region. The Iroquois Confederacy as a police action ran the Sioux out of the Great Lakes to the Plains. The Sioux and Assinboine end up on the same reservation. Fort Peck. That's karma.
Nice glasses, Linda. Love the frame color. Safe traveling, guys.
Thanks, Dee!
Every study shows bear spray is more effective than guns at preventing unwanted behavior from bears. Although, they usually lack nuance and fail to understand the wide varied behaviors of bears. The studies generally look at the situation and environment exclusively while ignore the context of the individual bears in each case. Just as police go, you need a non-lethal and lethal option. If all you have is a gun, then you're going to have to kill when you could've had an option that would not have. And when the time where lethal is the only option, you'll regret only having bear spray. Grizzlies went extinct in California due to them being on bounty and hunted with guns. Too many people went killing bears frivolously. With the lack of shooting bears, the increase of them being around and the need to have a gun to defend yourself. Lots of forestry workers and rangers work a lot and spend lots of money keeping track of their bears and making sure they're population is being sustained. When people go out killing bears when they didn't need to be killed (shooting a black bear during a false charge) it's a bit unfair to the people spending so much effort keeping them alive. Yet, if that's your mindset why you didn't kill a bear to save your own life, then you're delusional. Every situation is different and varied. Carry both, know what to use. Then, how to behave when you don't have time for either. Situational awareness is key.
My wife and I joke about how I could be walking alone in a snow-covered 10,000 acre field, and someone would bump in to me. But, I've had many campsites and have yet to have something stolen or tampered with. It's the moral codes of camping: Ask permission to enter a campsite; and, leave stuff alone. It's disappointing that someone intruded. I'd've moved, too.
The north shore of Hawaii (laie) for the very first time and there on after (9yrs) was so breathtaking and mind blowing with the absolute darkest skies full of stars more than ever.
Just outstanding video, clean, straight forward and no fluff. I will be using as my guide... thanks...
Cool. I wanna see in that trailer though. 😳
Sadly, the more you make these places known, the sooner they will be gone.
I see what you're saying but Granite ghost town is a Montana State Park and already well known.
When you hook up your safety chains, the rule of Thumb is "Hook Up". Turn your hooks around so that you don't just drop them on to your receiver.
About time someone thought out of the box and invented something like this. Thanks for the review.
wonderful video! Linda looks great in those new glasses, love the color! Stay safe and cool
Growing up around San Diego, headquarters of the 11th Naval District, I can recommend Point Loma as an excellent place to watch the ‘Submarine Races’ off the coast .
Loved the tiny big foot house and your videos are always top notch. Safe travels Rick and Linda. Brian from Colorado🌠
Thanks 👍
That’s a cool drone! I have lost a couple of cheap ones or I don’t have the skills to fly one! What kind is it? I’m glad you all are safe and no issues!
It's a DJI Mini 4 Pro.
@@gonagain thank you!
@@gonagain thank you. I’ll check them out.
I'm watching from Deadwood, SD 🤠
Hello!
I don't like how when you use it in the rise position that the anti-rattle device is pushing the hitch down ahead of the pin causing the ball to raise and the tongue weight is not bearing on the pins and anti-rattle device. In the drop position, you have the opposite. The tongue load reversal causing rattle is relatively low compared to the tongue weight. My point in saying this is that with time, I suspect you will see wear in the reciever pin bores. I think I still prefer the u-bolt device even if it requires a wrench.
Once that anti rattle lug beds into the receiver no more anti rattle and a wear spot in one place of the receiver….. No thanks.
How much is the total weight? I am sure it’s wayyy over and you aren’t even finished. Don’t think you’ll be able to use for an ATV hauler, not with all the heavy metals you used. There is a max.
Snow in your boots! Better than “there’s a snake in my boot!”
You're right about that!
Beautiful country! Such fun pictures.
Excellent one again xx nice glasses Linda xx
Camouflage your game cameras. Buy artificial greenery and glue it to your camera. Do whatever it takes to protect your camera.
Thank you both for this video, such a blessing! I am new to living out of a minivan (3 inch clearance). Thank you for letting us know clearance levels ❌⭕, Iris and Little One 👋🐾 PS, Linda you look radiant 😍🙏❣️
Thank you Iris!
Rick thank you for Sharing Linda and your adventures always peaceful interesting stuff . The government here above you ruined my retirement plans !!! I'm at a Loss now , just discovered I'm a Diabetis candidate along with my other faults ! Oh well Life goes on ....Take care U 2 , always enjoy your journeys ! Take care .
We hope you get to retire as you wanted. Life is getting tougher as we get older it seems.
Wow! I really like Linda's glasses. 🙂 The rest of the video was great, thank you for sharing.
Another great adventure away from the hustle & bustle! I wonder if a person could setup a doorbell camera to watch over the camp site? Then you could activate the speaker and tell someone to get off your front porch! Carry on and enjoy the adventure. 🤙
Wouldn't that be great?
We really enjoy your videos! It reminds me when we would boodock back in the 1960's with my Aunt & Uncle. We had a pop-up camper, and my Uncle fabricated a pickup camper with a pop-up top. We would go from Michigan to above Lake Superior (Canada) and only camp down 2 tracks to trout fish. Very exciting for a 10 year old!
One trip on wet highway and it will never work properly again 😅
We've used this hitch on the last 4000 mile trip, on rough dusty 4x4 dirt roads, through water and rain and inclines. So far it is still working great.
Thank you for mentioning that the Forest Service in Montana is quietly closing roads. I just returned from a week in western Montana and I had that feeling. With BLM closing roads in Utah, and new National Monuments grabbing a million acres here and a million acres there, I’m seeing a trend to keep the public off our land. I don’t like it.
they could be checking, if everyone was ok..
When we were hiking away from our camp and up the stream, we passed them and they saw us. They knew we were far away from our camp, too far to do anything if someone broke into our car.
@@gonagain I c..glad all is well..
