After cleaning our closet my husband made an amazing suggestion on how he could move shelves in the bedroom closet to make it easier for me to reach! I just about keeled over but took him up on his offer and now we are both happy with a clean usable closet.

I don't have a car, and have most of my groceries delivered, so I only need bags to get my groceries from the front door to the kitchen. Why do I need about 15 bags, then? I am now down to 5, plus an old fashioned shopping bag for nipping to the local shop for milk and bread. NB, I fold my bags and store them upright in a wire filing tray (that I discovered, unused, in a craft room cupboard), so that they are visible, easily accessible, and transportable.

I’ve been using my foldable beach cart. I leave it at the door. I leave a message for the groceries to be left at the door, then I wheel it all in and then fold up the cart and put it back in the garage. 🤣

Great job, Steph - the new house is really coming along! Re all your grocery bags, you might want to keep a couple of the ones you don't like in your garage/storage room/bottom of your wardrobe/kids' closet so that anytime you find donations they can be put right into the "giveaway" bag. Really speeds up the process! Love to the family and give your Mum a big hug, as always! 😍💖

So fun to watch as you ask yourself “why?” when you come across things. Or simply saying to put the items where you’ll need them most. For example, we have various Christmas books, movies, and music that I started keeping with the Christmas decor. It’s fun to pull them out during that season rather than having them available all year long. Thanks for the motivation to keep going!

I definitely keep the reusable bags in my trunk! I have 3 closets that are really small because I am in an older house. Amazing how much you can fit in one! I keep everything as organized as possible. One is for extra linens and cleaning supplies. I also keep extra household items in it. One is for empty totes for if/when I need to move. The last one is for my children's/grandchildren's things. If/when they visit or spend the night they'll have a small assortment of clothes on hand. No packing required. I recently had to check some sizes.😂Children definitely grow! Sometimes by leaps and bounds!

I've been tackling our master closet, getting rid of boxes of clothes. It's amazing the things I've held on to that are over the road. Some goes in the donate box and some goes in the trash. Every time I add an item to the donate box, I say, "Be blessed!" - it helps me part with items that I've been hanging onto.

This challenge is already having a positive effect on my house. I cleaned out the painting tools and gave them a home. My tools are in a closet sized space and I am constantly tripping over them. Now that the paints and supplies are sorted and put away in a permanent place I was so pleased with the progress that I even managed to find prettier homes for some random nuts and bolts.

When we bought this house I was so happy with the closet space and it was great while the kids lived at home. Now, I look at those closets as clutter gatherers. Finally sat down with my husband and designated one spare closet for his seasonal clothes and one for mine (not to be comingled) Also split coats and jackets by season. Decuttered as we went along so guests still have closet space while visiting. Life is much easier now.

I do keep my reusable grocery bags in the trunk of my car. I live in FL and it gets very hot here in the summer, so I have 5 insulated reusable bags for bringing home meats, dairy, and fresh fruits and vegetables. I also have two bags with reinforced bottoms for canned goods and other heavier items. And a few cloth bags for boxed items like cereal, crackers, etc. As I shop, I load the appropriate bag, and at the register I put a bag on the belt, and unload all the items onto the belt behind it with the items that should go on the bottom closest to the bag, working out to thr items I want placed on top. Then I do the same for the next bag, and the next, etc. The grocery clerks then repack each bag with just the items I want in it as they ring up my groceries. When I get home, I put the "pantry" bags on the floor in front of the pantry. And I take all the insulated bags to the fridge and unload those directly into the fridge. Then I put away all the pantry items, and repack the empty insulated bags and the other bags into my largest "pantry" bag, and put it back into the trunk of my car. So, yes, I agree with keeping the bags in the car. Best place for them!

I have a large Trader Joe's insulated bag, & in it I put my sturdy fabric grocery bags. When I come home, I empty out the bags, put them back in the insulated bag, put all by the front door, & next time I go to the car, the bags are put in the car. That's where they live! It was really hard, but I've thrown out extra bags & only keep what I need for one day of running around doing errands.

Done! I live in Florida in a relatively new house (19 years). There are no coat closets in Florida! Which makes sense because we don't wear a lot of coats, but like there's no place to keep brooms, vacuums, etc.... So I did clean out my closet in the master bedroom. Have two garbage bags full of clothes to donate. I recently sorted thru my shoes and got some new shoe racks, so it's looking organized and even cleaner. Thanks for doing this challenge.

I gave about half my reusable bags to the thrift store and put the rest in the car. It’s amazing how those bags accumulate!

Fortunately, we just went through all of our closets during our Christmas time off. But I still found four things to get rid of when I looked through my closet again today. We have two cars and I try to keep one or two reusable bags in each of them for spontaneous „coming back from work, what’s for dinner? Do we need anything?“-Trips. For our normal grocery shopping we have two insulated bags, one big backpack and some clothes shopping bags (non-reusable bags were more or less banned years ago in Germany and I‘ve used my clothes bags 99.9% of the time before that anyway - for the last… 25 years or so, ever since I was a teenager).

I am loving this motivation and challenge. With two under two I only have small chunks of time to work and this is keeping me going! Let’s all keep going!

I had 3 in 3 years and then 4 1/2 years later had one more. It’s such a blessing but so busy! You’re doing great, momma. Mine are now 8,6,5 and 1

I just recently reorganized our back door closet. My daughter likes to instantly take off her socks when she take off her shoes. So I placed a fabric zipper bag on her coat hook to wrangle her dirty socks. We also place her clean socks by the door too.

Did my mom's linen closet for today's challenge. It was my first project using labels and unified bins. I'm in love.

Looked at the space between my desk & the wall this morning, all piled up with “stuff.” Spent maybe 5 minutes & have 3 items to donate & now looks great. Thank you for your wonderful & practical info & encouragement!

While decluttering I found my Christmas gift I have been looking for. Amazing what shows up in places you never see to look in, until you declutter.

I just did my bedroom closet and my coat closet over the weekend for the change of seasons. It feels good to put the heavy winter things away and make sure my spring and summer things are easy to find.

Did our daughters closet. She got new clothes because of a growth spurt. Emptied it all out, changed the shelving so the dresses have space to hang properly (she is a dress fanatic). All nice and tidy now!
