Hi Lena, thanks for the content. If I live and have an LLC in California, but also work and do transactions deals in other states such as New York, Florida, Ohio, Texas and Kansas. Does that mean I need to get an LLC for each of those states as well, a total of 5 more LLC. Or will my California LLC suffice for those 5 states I just mentioned?
As I am just going to be starting my business and definitely don't have the kind of money to maintain an LLC, I think a DBA is the way to go for now. It seems a lot simpler and a lot cheaper. Thanks for the clear and concise video!
Should I get an LLC before I start my business. I have purchased a 360 photo booth machine but i haven't done any event yet. When is the right time to apply? Now or after getting more business?
Hi Lena, my son and I have a registered LLC partnership in Michigan. The primary business function is party supply rentals (tents, tables, chairs). We want to individually form DBA's underneath the single EIN number, rather than creating multiple LLC's. These DBA's would do business in different industries (video production, home remodeling, laundromat, etc) and we would not necessarily be involved with each other's DBA's. Would we use guaranteed payments to pay the partner who performs the specific duties associated with the DBA? Meaning, if created a Video Production DBA, and only I would be performing duties related to the video production business, the expectation would be that only I would be compensated. And is that compensation accounted for in my schedule K? Correct to assume that my son would not have to include that dollar amount on his individual tax form?
Hi Lena. Is it possible to register an LLC and then use DBA's using the LLC as proprietor? That way I only spend money registering one LLC vs having to register for the ones being used as DBA.

LLC you have to pay $800 a year in California.
So with an LLC you can screw everyone over and not have to take any reasonability.. Sounds ethical LOL
