Alas, i look at Lagarde and sigh in disbelief. V.d.Leyen is accused of violating "EU transparency laws", when she deleted some SMS'es, she should have made public. And the Food shortage will hit hard in Switzerland, as the prices for Rice for example went up by up to 100% already. And that's on top of what prices are in switzerland (+25% of what you pay in Neighbouring EU countries). I guess, the WEF will wine and dine in other countries (soonTM).

Your analysis is incomplete. Not only is Russia the source of fertiliser, it is also the source of the major inputs in the production of fertiliser, viz. ammonia and nitrogen. The idea of being able to sanction Russia without suffering massive blowback was always lunatic and false.

It is a concerted effort by the investor class to wring every ounce of blood from working people who have no chance of getting ahead. They pushed energy prices up so that people think that paying $3.70 per gallon of gas is normal. Then they boosted housing costs sky high and bought up entire blocks of single family homes forcing already stressed families to pay exorbitant rents while owning nothing. Now they have a lock on the food supply with a government that does nothing to limit the predatory gouging. At some point people will have had enough and then it will get violent.

Almost impossible to fed yourself from a garden. It's a good idea, but a better investment in both money and effort is to stock up on cheap (while they are still cheap) staples (flour, rice, beans, corn) and learn to cook. You can get by very nicely for under $500/person/year. Cheaper with more people

To be fair and bringing some light in the darkness, China has mechanized it’s farming and made new areas available so their production is steadily rising. They could have replaced other sources but unfortunately the west is getting increasingly aggressive to them also, hindering imports.
