That crab was so funny, repeatedly flipping over backwards! Good that you found that knife that way - that nobody found it by foot or worse. Congrats on the great number of targets! A whole spade! That big hook with a lead head is called a "jig," by the way. 316 quarters for the year! Almost $80! Very pretty silver rings! Great finds! Gold luck to you, and happy hunting!

Thank you so much Charles! Yes, that crab was a runner for sure but had no chance of getting up that steep sand cut. Many fishermen out there, tis the fishing season on the beaches here. No surprise to find hooks, lures, knives, pliers, scissors or even that shovel. Glad I got that knife before someone stepped on that rusty blade! Have a great day!

That strange looking fishing thingy is my third one so far. Apparently these drag at the bottom and take an appearance of food some fish like.

Thank you Heather! I really didn't know what that first dark ring with green stone was, didn't look too good. Imagine my surprise when it cleaned up so nicely and showed 925! The other ring looked pretty good, not tarnished yet, may have been a recent loss. Have a great Sunday!

Hi, thank you! That crab didn't have a chance getting up that steep cut in the sand! In this hobby you don't know what you will find so I was definitely in my element in this area. There were so many targets! So, I have 10 rings for the year and all the change!

Beautiful beach and to find those rings is just a bonus! Averaging well over a quarter a day all year long is impressive! Not to mention all the other coins and goodies you've found. That's a lot of scoopin! Great job with still 2 months to go.

Yes, a really good honey spot! Seeing this on the island here and there but there are many detectorists out there daily. A nice high tide keeps delivering the goods and I timed it just right and chose this area as the people driving on the beach can't drive there, too steep and the low tide doesn't go down much! I found this spot, observed it and then hit it at just the right time. Happy Hunting

Yes, definitely a fun hunt! Lots of targets for me to dig and no one to share this spot with, yeah! No telling how long the coins and other targets were in the ocean, some of the coins are fairly new but it doesn't take long for them to turn dark. Have a great Sunday!

Hi Kate. I don't know why there were so many dead monarch butterflies dead on the beach. That made me sad and it was first time ever to see this. The hunt was amazing, so many targets to dig and the 2 rings made it just perfect!

This hobby is very exciting, it's the thrill of the hunt! My husband got me the detector in 2014 and told me "oh, you will love it". Little did he know how true that turned out to be! Rings are the "going" treasures for beach detecting. So, it's always exciting to find a ring, even if it's not silver or gold. Picking up stuff & trash is just the right thing to do.

Always great vids and 16 quarters for just an hour and a half, incredible! So how long do you think those coins have been buried? Have you been there when people have been in that area? And did anyone ever come out or did you have the beach to yourself the whole time? You may have found an undetected area or at least one that hasn't been detected in years. That would be so cool and no telling what in all you would find. Only 184 to go!

Hi Kathy, yes, people came out to walk and fish on the beach. Pretty sure all these targets washed up in the high tide as the water rushed in and slammed that sand. Many of the coins were fairly new but they turn dark very quickly in that salty water and sand. The sand cuts are showing up here and there on island, the water comes in and takes the sand and dumps it in other areas. Have a great Sunday!

Two hours before low tide through peak low tide and two hours after is best time to hunt (closer to bedrock where gold resides) I use tide apps for android.

Hi Basia - What do you do to keep your nails so long and hard? Remember I told you I was growing my nails because I love yours so much and mine were starting to look nice well they all broke off that bread all again and peeled. I did notice they broke off after our use nail polish on them. Maybe I was taking the nail polish off too soon. What do you do when yours chips do you just paint over the chips?So I was just wondering what you use on your fingernails to keep them so nice.

Hi, I always wear gloves for washing dishes and cleaning as well as in the garden. Also, use a lot of hand cream on my hands. Have always been able to grow nails. When any chip I always file it back a little so it doesn't snag on anything and break off. I remove old polish once per week and apply fresh. That's all, no big secret here at all.

Basia Today Mine break bumping something. I will try the one week polish. I have to get them to grow again. I am going to,start back on my calcium plus D again. Maybe it will help my knee which is preventing me from even going to the store. I have to ride a cart as I can’t walk very far. Hoping to see chiropractor for cookies (shoes inserts) for my shoes . I also have scoliosis and it causes my left side to step down harder as it is shorter from scoliosis pulling that side up. I can’t wear my sandals in the winter and I think I need a thicker cookie. Inserts for my shoes. Keep these wonderful videos coming.

How bad do coins have to be before the bank won't accept them?

Really bad! You can scrape all that sand and corrosion off the coins (especially the zinc pennies) then soak them separately from dimes, quarters and nickels. Some people roll them and take them to the bank. I just use them to pay when I am paying with cash.
