it's amazing how something so destructive like a bad storm can make the water and the sky look absolutely STUNNING. I can't believe how far out the waves were forming and how huge they were too!

Hi Sharon, I agree with you! I had to get out there and record this for all to see! It was truly awesome being out there in that wind surrounded by the furious waves and the pier swaying and shaking!

Oh how I would have loved to be standing right there beside you! I would love the fury and strength of it. But I only like watching it, I would not like being in it even on the calmest of days! Thank you for sharing this with us, and am glad everyone is safe.

That definitely was a cool moment, shaky pier, terrible winds and surrounded by all those waves! You would have loved it!

Oh MY!!! Never seen the ocean so angry in this area. You were mighty brave to even stand on the pier to even get this video. Amazing how powerful the ocean is and how vulnerable you are to it. Stay safe my friend!

Yes, it was definitely an angry ocean! If the waves were any higher I probably would not have gone on that pier!

You could not have paid me enough to step 1 foot on that pier. You have nerves of steel. Hope the storm brings you great finds.......Christie

Thank you Clinton. The Oregon coast is beautiful and you get some big waves there on your ocean. The Atlantic is pretty calm unless there is a storm like in this video!

Yikes, hate this winter just won't go away this year for you! Not sure how detecting will be because the island is south facing and the wind was blowing from west to east....

Yes, terrible wind and angry ocean and I was the only human out there. No waves were crashing on the pier so I didn't have to high-tail out of there and was able to go on the observation deck. That pier was shaking under my feet....

Thank you, staying safe here! We had tornadoes in central NC but at the beach just bad wind and rain overnight!

My wife calls that "angry waters", she grew up in Florida and lived there several years. You should have some great detecting when it calms down.

As little as you are, I hope you were anchored down with some weights, ha ha. Very angry ocean, not the calm effect I usually get when I see your ocean videos. Scary to say the least :-O

Yes, these storms are really nasty! We had tornadoes touch down and destroy homes in central NC but just winds & rain along the coast! Happy Hunting when you get out there!

Hi, let's hope so but this island is south facing and the wind was blowing west to east, water and sand, so not looking promising, I guess we'll see. It's always better when the wind comes from the south and pushes those angry waves on the beach......

A little bit of advice. No matter how big, strong or skilled you are, ALWAYS RESPECT MOTHER NATURE. Enjoy it, but respect it. It's amazing how quickly it can bite you when you challenge or underestimate it.

When I go tomorrow, the day after is probably going to be a little windy and rainy

It look's kinda scary and I can almost feel that wind.

Only a person can appreciate and feel the fury of the ocean. Birds and other marine and land animals can also do this. But they can only do this at the level of simple feelings, which they received at birth from nature. They may be frightened by this and fly away or swim to depth. And only a person can write vivid, full-bodied verses about the fury of the ocean. And others can read these verses and, not seeing this ocean, feel how it really was .... ))

That's the same storm that went up the coast toward New England and brought ice, sleet, snow & cold!

That ocean was not happy. Found that Aurora, NC as a spot to find megalodon teeth. Have you ever found any. My 7 year old grandson is on a shark kick.
