This is an AMAZING performance.
I’m pretty much a punk, rockabilly and honky tonk guy but it’s hard to beat a perfect pop song. It’s gets into your head and refuses to vacate.
I love this performance because it really showcases Nick's bass work. Superb!
Great song, Great Band

yep!..GREAT SONGWRITING!!
On this day in 1987 {May 16th} Crowded House performed "Something So Strong" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program 'American Bandstand'... At the time the song was at position #52 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; nine weeks later it would peak at #7 {for 1 week} and it spent 21 weeks on the Top 100... Between 1986 and 1991 the group had five Top 100 records; with two reaching the Top 10, their other Top 10 record was "Don't Dream It's Over", it peaked at #2* {for 1 week} on April 19th, 1987... * The week that "Don't Dream It's Over" was at #2, the record that kept it out of the top spot was "I Knew You Were Waiting for Me" by Aretha Franklin & George Michael...

Jim Capaldi did a song with the same title, not so cheerful. Appreciated it though.
