@@malotonga4957 Funny thing about Damon was Eddie Kendricks wasn't there when Damon audition. Eddie left the group. Why would he be allow to comeback to somebodies else audition? You people just love to make shit up. In reality Damon audition for Dennis Edwards, Richard Street, and Melvin Franklin first and then later on for Otis Williams.

I remember my dad had a collection of Temptations albums released from about mid 60’s to mid 70’s. When I noticed Richard Street and Damon Harris on the cover of “Solid Rock”. I was about 6 years old. Now I appreciate their tremendous contribution. I thought Richard had the coolest look Afro, sideburns. Soul patch. As a kid I’d just stare at the album cover wanting that look. Thanks for posting.
My big bro (R.I.P.) was a big fan of the psychedelic era Temptations. Definitely their best period imo.

After all these years, I realize that this song has done tremendous damage to the image of Black men in America. Men described in the song are the rule in the minds of many women. Not the rare exception that they are. Most average men are lucky to get 1 woman, let alone half a dozen or more....
