ohmygosh. Ben became the sock. I really thought Cristine was going to get uncomfortable expressing herself and there was no hoodie to hide in, but it was Ben who was squirming. They're like two different socks lost in the same dryer of life.

I love how awkward he gets when you start complimenting him! Just let her appreciate you, Ben!!! Just because you scored low on words of affirmation doesn’t mean you don’t need/shouldn’t have some recognition. (Have used the 5 love languages for years. Very helpful learning how to make the people I love feel loved.)

It is both. You perceive love in the way you understand (quality time/service) and you DISPLAY love in your way too. The trick is understanding what your partner wants.

Mine is also quality time but the percentages were all really close together. I think most valuable to me are a combination of quality time and physical touch. For example talking to each other while cuddling. I'm not the most sexual person in the world so it doesn't have to be intimate but just snuggling together is really good

My husband is all abt that quality time while I prefer words of affirmation.

I remember taking this quiz same got 40% for act of service and the lowest was 3% with words of affirmation. 🤣

Same almost. I was 35% physical touch, 32% quality time, 19% act of service. then words of affirmation was 10% and receiving gifts was 3%. could not be more true. I hate receiving gifts and I hate compliments. Also, @Blue Hour look up "love language quiz" it should be the first one by 5lovelanguages

I started the quiz. Didn't even finish it but I think I might be weird. Do people actually like being touched? Cause like I don't at all. And I know that's not super common to the degree that I dislike being touched but like do people actually LIKE it cause that would shock me. I feel like this would be pretty obvious if you just think about it. Ben wants a vacation. Cristine wants to be brought tea when she's trying to do all of the work.

It is, me and my bf are always holding hands when we're out and hug and cuddle multiple times a day, it really helps recharging our batteries during a stressful day

i dislike being touched most of the time and by most people, i find it awkward and uncomfortable. but i've found that especially when i'm in a relationship or a select few very close friendship, i do find it enjoyable in some situation. hugs are a big no-no for me with pretty much anyone, but with my ex i would seek a hug out after a bad day. or my ex-roommate and extremely close friend who i was perfectly comfortable cuddling with. sometimes people with an aversion to touch just find the exceptions to their rules!

ooohh so that's why ben is always asking for a vacation 😆

Not at all! The gift one is very misunderstood - it's not about being materialistic, it's about tangible proof that they were thinking of you when you weren't there. Thinking to grab a coffee for you while they're getting their own, caring enough to search out a gift that actually means something to you rather than just grabbing something random they found while dinking around online, even vacation postcards. It also generally means you are fabulous at GIVING gifts.

Some of my favourite memories of my dad from when I was a child was the little thoughtful gifts that he got me, of the iceblocks or lollies that he brought home. to me the gifts signify that you were on this person's mind through out the day.

I think the idea of love languages can be useful, but I'm not a huge fan of it because I think its given a lot of people an "excuse" to be lazy in relationships. You should be giving your partner all 5 types of love, not just the two that each of you value most.
