Create Rope or Wire Trailing Behind A Moving Object | Application Of Cloth Physics In Blender
In this tutorial, we have discussed an easy technique in Blender on how to create a trailing wire or a trailing rope using cloth physics. We have taken a test scene where a microphone is attached to a wire and it is moving on a stage. The wire will trail behind the microphone as it moves. Please watch the video for the complete tutorial. If you have any question on this tutorial, please leave your comment below.

Hi thank you for sharing the knowledge... and I tried it but the problem is when I hook with the cube and applied cloth to cable and even after the hook applied the cable doesn't with the box

That's weird. I hope you did not miss anything. Can you please share your blend file to 5minblender@gmail.com so that we can verify it?
Thank you! Another terrific tutorial. I have a question, is there an easier and more precise way of placing the cord into the mic, I can't seem to get it centred and moving it around can create some awkward distortions.
@5MinutesBlender
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
If you need to do it perfectly: 1) Snap the 3D cursor to the center of the top end of the wire 2) Move the origin point of the mic to the center of its bottom surface 3) Snap the mic to the 3D cursor. Now the wire will be attached to the center of the bottom surface of the mic. If you do not know how to do any of these steps described above, please let me know.

@@5MinutesBlender Thank you for the informative reply. I'm trying to give it a go but it's all a bit confusing having not done these operations before.
@5MinutesBlender
ะัะป ะฑาฑััะฝ
@@bobdobs8855 Here you go. 1) Select the wire and go to the Edit mode. Select the vertices at the top end. Under Mesh menu, under Snap, select the option Cursor to Selected. 2) Select the mic in the Object mode. Under Object menu, under Snap, select the option Selection to Cursor. (In case you need to move the origin point, select the object and go to the Edit mode. Now select the face where you want to move the origin point, then under Mesh menu, under Snap, select Cursor to Selected. Now back to the Edit mode, under Object menu, under Set Origin, select the option Origin to 3D cursor).

Hi Jeet, How to connect two rigid body cubes with one rope such that if pull one cube the second one move along with the rope without stretching of rope.

7 ะฐะน ะฑาฑััะฝ
No, I searched but did not find it, I think in Blender it is not possible but not sure because I am new in the animation field and started learning Blender juse one year back, Jeet will light on this and I believe Jeet will find solution and make tuitorial on this @@narroric
When you set the bevel distance to create a 'CABLE' from the spline, the next parameter was the spline resolution, using this instead of the Catmul-Clark subdivision would be a way way faster and more elegant way of doing it. Currently, each polygon is 64 polygons and the 36 division circumference of the cable is now 288 - its geometry you do not need, its wastefull of memory, processing and eats into render time. i.e. Its not professional.

Is it possible to export this to use as an object in Unity?
@5MinutesBlender

Yes you can export it. I am not sure how far the materials can be exported because the export function is limited when it comes to materials, but the basic object can be exported.
