It looks great! I think your solution with the belt is perfect, but if it really bugs you, you could always cut the bottom off and knit back down. If you belt it or tuck it in then it will be absolutely fine 👍👍

Emily, the jumper is still gorgeous!!! Even with the alterations you should be proud of your accomplishments. Like I have told you in the past I'm also planning to knit this same jumper but with sleeves to the elbow. I also have to add a lot of inches to the jumper because I'm no where near 34" bust so I will probably need loads of alterations and hope my calculations work.( I'm also using squidknits calculations) I love the idea of the provisional cast on for the new jumper. I was just watching a KZread post on this last night. So I think this is a great idea 💡 can't wait to see the new jumper in the making. I hope we get to see it as it progresses. ♥

Thank you 😊😊 I'm really happy it's wearable 😅 just a couple of tweaks and it'll be just right I think. I can't believe my gauge changed so much in plain stockinette! All those calculations were destroyed haha I'd love to see your version when it's done.. all this talk of it makes me excited to see it 😆 Yes I'll record my progress.. and hope it works out as I have in my head 😆

Tension, the right name for it! One time I was struggling with long needles and swopped to shorter ones of the same size. These produced 1 more stitch over 4” and the change was visible! I have knitted swatches to the right tension and the pieces were way too big. I have concluded swatches do not work. Knitting a 4” square is just not the same as knitting a piece many inches wider. How can it be? You are handling all the extra stitches and weight as the piece grows and this must have an impact. Far better to start the garment and check the tension after a few rows. I now frequently measure the piece as I go along even if it means offloading the stitches to do so. I use measurements taken from a sweater that fits properly! I also check the pattern to see if the number of stitches and tension will produce the final measurements. The last one worked out at 2” more which is baffling. Was this supposed to be ease? If so what exactly were the finished measurements supposed to represent

Life is too short for swatching ;) mine also changes so much depending on where I am or what mood I'm in so, it's useless really haha Team measure as you go here, too :)
