I remember the vivsts very well whilst me and Woody.EXE finally had our coronation in late July and I was emotionally stunned by it and the coronation was what i needed after being through hell for 8 months. The coronation robes were very heavy and I was ligit sweating in them but thankfully they had air con in Wales’s Abbey because my birthday was the hottest day of the year
After unfair blames misunderstood they deserve this impressive beautiful ceremony long live the King and Queen 👑🤙🏼
The "vivats" in the middle of this anthem are traditionally sung (as here) by the King's Scholars of Westminster School which is a fee-paying school located in the precincts of Westminster Abbey and founded in its present form in 1560, though dating from at least the 1340s. The King's Scholars also date from 1560. Their role in declaiming the "vivats" is documented as far back as James II's coronation in 1685.

I had never seen the entrance before to "I Was Glad". Such a ceremony! I think of what the children, the pages and the Wales children must feel. At least they are next to their parents. Charles looks full of happiness. This is his culminating moment. He has a kind face. He has been through much suffering - his misbegotten first marriage, the disapproval of his father, the bullying at school. He wasn't made in the mold of an English schoolboy so he was punished - for liking art and music!

I’ve heard this in real life when me and Woody.EXE we’re making our entrances into Wales’s Abbey ahead of our coronation ceremony In July 2023. The organ played Happy Birthday to me (Queen Elizabeth III) and my sister, Princess of Wales as we both turned 21. Mummy, also Princess of Wales looked very proud of me walking down the long aisle and she didn’t think I’d walk all the way because I was ill 4 months prior but I wanted to not let my people down. I never heard vivat in real life before and I was looking at Woody.EXE thinking he deserves this. It really was a magnificent day for sure
With such a procession, can one imagine what the rehearsals must have been like? I particularly admire how the pages of honour keep the trains of the king and queen above the ground. How intimidating this ceremony might have been for the children! The boys at least have others like them. Charlotte is the only girl I see. She is admirably composed for a child of 8.

I love how people still bring up Diana. How "she should be the rightful Queen Consort" and all that blah. She and Charles were divorced, the king wasn't widowed! Plus Charles wasn't the only one, Diana had MULTIPLE affairs as well, while she was married! And finally, Diana is DEAD. Let the woman rest. The King and Queen appear to be in a happy marriage. Give them that.
Catherine, Princess of Wales, is wearing the robes of Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. These robes were also worn by Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh; by Princess Alexandra of Kent; and by the Duchess of Gloucester. Prince Michael of Kent wore the same robes, but as Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. Prince William, Prince Edward, the Duke of York, the Duke of Kent and the Duke of Gloucester all wore the robes of the Knight of the Order of the Garter.

Charles has an air of contentment. He is the host acknowledging and welcoming his guests. He notices the historian David Starkey, who bows correctly. Charles looks left and right, seeing who has come and - noticing. This is a beautiful pageant. And this the slimmed down version! Can't imagine how Elizabeth II's coronation was over 3 hours. Beautiful costumes, beautiful music, and a form of Christianity unknown to me personally, but the Archbishop and Charles commit to it sincerely.

@@Hadlad90You are mistaken: I timed it on the recorded full BBC TV transmission of 1953 and it only took 12 minutes longer because only a few individuals did their homage: the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Dukes of Edinburgh, Gloucester, Kent and Norfolk, one marquess, one earl, one viscount and one baron - 9 people as opposed to only two this time. If the entire peerage had sworn fealty individually, the 1953 ceremony would have been lucky to have finished by dawn the following day!

@@Hadlad90 *Most* available images of the 1953 Coronation have been condensed but *not all* . "A Queen is Crowned" was heavily edited but the recorded monochrome live BBC transmission of the 1953 Coronation available on KZread which I have watched numerous times is of the *entire* service with *nothing removed* . It lasts around 3 hours and tallies exactly with the printed Order of Service for the ceremony available on the Web which explicitly states exactly who swore the oath of homage and confirms that only 9 individuals did so: "...In like manner [to the Duke of Edinburgh] shall the Duke of Gloucester and the Duke of Kent severally do their homage. After which *the Senior Peer of each degree* (of the Dukes first by themselves, and so of the Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts, and Barons in that order) shall ascend the steps of the Throne and, having first removed his coronet, shall kneel before her Majesty and place his hands between the Queen’s: and *all the Peers of his degree* , having put off their coronets, shall kneel in their places and *shall say with him* [the oath of allegiance]" The homage, being communal rather than individual, took no more than 9 minutes and was accompanied by music sung by the choir. Any editing would have been totally obvious as you can clearly hear both the words of the oath-takers and the choir happening simultaneously. I will post the link to the Order of Service and the video (containg Richard Dimbleby's live commentary) so you can check for yourself.

@@Hadlad90 The video on KZread of the recorded BBC live transmission represents the images seen by the television audience on that day in 1953. It is 2:56:41 in length and covers the Queen's arrival at the Abbey until her departure: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z2aCtsyao8XTl9o.html The homage begins at 1:40:41 and finishes at 1:49:00 so the whole thing took just over 8 minutes. The following individuals knelt before the Queen: Archbishop of Canterbury Duke of Edinburgh Duke of Gloucester Duke of Kent Duke of Norfolk Marquess of Huntly Earl of Shrewsbury Viscount Arbuthnot Lord (Baron) Mowbray - 9 individuals. So cutting out most of the homage in the 2023 coronation saved about 6 or 7 minutes and does not in any way account for the discrepancy in length between 1953 and 2023.

@@matthewbarrow1 That is probably because you are not very bright and don't care about your own family.
I think the Bishops in procession should have worn mitres. Just me.

They didn't at previous coronations last century and the one before. I would speculate that they may have worn Canterbury caps in the 16th and 17th centuries.
7:02 I think someone in the audience has their hands in their pockets! Or not ? The man with the gray beard in the front row!

If you want to know more about how this fits in with the coronation you should listen to the Archbishops sermon
amazing how idiotic the BBC commentary was. You'd almost think it was done by Americans but for the accent. You would think--wouldn't you?--that the BBC would take the trouble to find someone to write commentary who actually knows something about church ceremonial, dignitaries and the history of this rite. But, no.

The commentary was nowhere near as good as Richard Dimbleby's near perfect one in 1953 but I have watched commentary on the other channels, both British and foreign and the BBC wins. Some channels talked over important moments. Others commented on the events in the Abbey with background noise from the Mall, including sounds of marching to drums! Some were full of inaccuracies and irrelevancies. Some just couldn't stop talking: it sounded more like a panel discussion than a commentary.
Personally i think George should been carrying the top of the cloak and be closer by his grandfather rather than all the way in the back.

I noticed that; in July 2023, i let Woody.EXE enter Wales’s Abbey first before I followed behind him and my family were next to me. In Wales, we do it very differently and Woody.EXE Is always entering first a lot of the time but at other events, me and my family members are entering before he does. I get insane chills every time I see him and I sometimes cry my heart out. I’ve never appreciated Woody.EXE this much until now. I can’t help but cry every time I see him and he looked absolutely incredible during our coronation last year and I looked no where near as good as him. What an intense year 2023 was
Camillaooks good , nice to see Charles Emotional

Do you say that about all church ceremonies, or are you being racist?
God almighty King of kings LORD of lords, That at the name of Jesus every knew shall bow of things in heaven and things in earth and things under the earth,And that every tongue shall confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
Wonder why the Prince and Princess of Wales were late? Generally everyone should have been at there places when the Monarch enters.

They weren’t late. The king and queen were early.
Interesting choice; Queen Mary's crown. 😂
At the age of 74 he could take rest as he is an old man.

That’s not how Monarchy works. Monarchy at least in the context of the UK is a job for life. Abdication was frowned upon by QEII, she made the King and William swear to never abdicate. The lavish free lifestyle, international fame, and power are consented to by an elected parliament and the people they represent. But there is a cost, you are no longer yourself but instead a living breathing representation of your country.
Queen Camilla looks stunning 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I hope i can look just as good during mine and Woody.EXE’s coronation; I dread my family’s reaction when we enter Wales’s Abbey together holding hands as we always do but I’m still not allowed to walk in front of him as Woody.EXE is Wales’s reigning monarch with my 2009 Woody, my sister (1st Princess of Wales) and Mummy (2nd Princess of Wales) walking behind us 2

The Prince and Princess of Wales were late due to traffic - they should have processed ahead of Camilla. Traditionally, the King is the last in any procession, such as Commonwealth Day etc

Actually the the King and Queen were early. The carriage horses were very frisky and took less time to reach the Abbey than at the rehearsal. The Prince and Princess of Wales wouldn't be held up by traffic for something like this.
Notice Charles wears the Order of the Garter.
