Confidence and joy are the keys to a great sex life | Emily Nagoski | TEDxUniversityofNevada

Author of the NY Times bestselling book, 'Come as You Are: The Surprising New Science that Will Transform Your Sex Life,' Dr. Emily Nagoski presents the research behind two keys to sexual well-being -- confidence and joy.
Emily Nagoski is Wellness Education Director, Lecturer, and campus favorite at Smith College, where she teaches Women’s Sexuality. She has a PhD in Health Behavior with a doctoral concentration in human sexuality from Indiana University, and a master’s degree (also from IU) in counseling, with a clinical internship at the Kinsey Institute Sexual Health Clinic. She has taught graduate and undergraduate classes in human sexuality, relationships and communication, stress management, and sex education. She is the author of three guides for Ian Kerner’s GoodInBed.com, including the Guide to Female Orgasm, and she writes the popular sex blog, TheDirtyNormal.com.

Anyone here (and anyone period!), will greatly benefit from reading "Come As You Are". Deeply moving, highly enlightening, and so very inspirational. Words literally can't describe how this book has changed my life and rewired my brain and perspective. If you haven't read it, go read it!! 😀😄😁

Me and my wife had heard about this book somewhere and ordered it tonight along with companion workbook. Her libido is much higher than what I provide so I’m curious what this book says on this. We have a great communication but she deserves to be happy and confident. I’d prefer to be there as her support as opposed to roadblock. Hoping we find advice and answers with this book.

"normal" is not what people need or really even want. It has been used as a tool of social conformity and dominance. We want respect for who we are in all our abnormality. Normality as a gateway drug to being liked and accepted is a fallacy. Authenticity--being who we truly are--is what we're all hungry for. Self acceptance rather than seeking approval from outside is a much deeper ground to rest on.
