+humanyoda Just a guess because I'm not who you are questioning, but I'd say a decrease in libido would be hugely beneficial for men because we do some really stupid things and make some really terrible decisions based on attraction. We settle for the wrong woman, we quit great careers to move to be with someone who isn't right for us. The list is pretty extensive. Watch the whole video or another Ted talk about porn. It is pornography that has this effect not masturbation. Why do you think such a large majority of men watch porn? Because... Simple masturbation isn't enough we want a woman. Porn becomes the substitution not jacking off. You're essentially knocking something because most people do it wrong.

I guess the porn sites have send their agents... there are other pseudo-psychologists who say that masturbation to porn doesnt do nothing to the brain. This is such a wonderful speech on a very serious topic within current society with intelligent humors, and it contains a lot of facts as well. I am a big believer in communication and trust are key to successfully relationships (particularly sexuality part of the relationship) , and masturbation can really help in those two areas, because if you don't know your own body, your own sexual pleasure, then how would you expect anyone else to know better than yourself. Only when you know yourself well enough, you can guide your partners and communicate clearly with your partner to allow him/her to give you pleasure, and trust in him/her to allow you to receive great pleasure.

I dont like where this is going..

She is right about some things but I believe it DOES teach me instant gratification which makes my life feel harder than it is.. I get more distracted because I tend to search for a stimulus that gives me similar feeling more often.. I did experience worse performance at a gym after doing it (I'm talking day or two before).. I'm not sure about immunity improvement, I only notice brief improvement when I'm sick and then I feel even more tired and overall worse.. I don't tell anyone what to do but for me it seems helpful. I don't have religious reasons, I'm not ashamed of it and I don't care about going against mainstream.. Maybe it helps only certain types of people, who knows, I'm probably one of them.. For anyone who looks down on this, I encourage you to stay open minded.. give it try for several days.. If then you decide It's utter nonsense, it's ok..

I'm not trying to suggest there's an inherent correlation between the practice of nofap and intrusive thoughts but I just wanted to get your perspective on that particular subject. Do you think there's any demographic that might be more susceptible to suffering adverse effects while on nofap?

That's the point she's making! It destroys your self-esteem because of the unhealthy societal attitude towards it. If it was accepted as a norm, there wouldn't be a stigma around it and people wouldn't feel ashamed of themselves for engaging in this activity.
