It's content like this that makes it all worthwhile. Surprising how clear the coat hanger can indicate against the wheel.

Do you have to degree the cams as well on stock 04 cobra cams or only if you using 96-98 cobra cams???

I like to do it no matter the cams. Because timing can be different from one side to the other.

So you do all your degreeing first, and then make adjustments where needed after so you’re not repeatedly taking gears off to grind them down either way if necessary?

This video was more about the process. But because I didn’t have a cam card with a target centerline I was more concerned with the banks being the same than what the number was. If I had a target centerline I would have adjusted each one as I measured. I did get them to within 1/2*.

@@cobraengineering thanks for clarifying! Decided I’m gonna try and tackle degreeing my cams and having everything right, so just looking for the best practices lol. Thanks again.

Great information. Besides adjusting the cams to get both sides close to even, say I wanted to advance the intake and retard the exhaust would there be a performance gain? I was thinking intake installed on 108 and exhaust at 120.

I’m not really sure about that. I wouldn’t consider myself a expert on cam placement. But that is a big move.
