My Cobra needs this. Right now I'm running the massaged OEM crossover to clear my VMP Gen3R. Also want to pick up your head cooling mod. These will be winter projects for the Cobra for this off season.
This is one kick ass mod. Thanks for creating this mod sir. Cant wait to get my Terminator so I can do this mod.
Great video as always James !
Awesome video. I definitely am thinking about this for the future.
Can you fill the system through the burp cap. I got rid of the expansion tank and just have a overflow tank.
🔥🔥
Hey my car made the video!! 4:33 thanks james
Does this work for the 1st Gen Mark VIii 4.6 motors? If not do you know whose mod does? Interested in the Thermostat relocation too

No I need to make different head fittings for B heads like that has.
Awesome, I’ve order the kit, where do you purchase your hoses from? I know there’s many out there most are too cheap to be good

I got those from Summit. Really any AN hose setup is good for this. Looks are more important. They only see maybe 20psi.
Nice video, 99-01 Cobra Turbo with alternator mounted in stock location (MIDDLE) will this fit?

Yes
I’m new to the terminator I known about the cooling mode in back for heads on right. But what is this for are they related. I’m sorry don’t know this stuff

Never bad questions. This is just to eliminate the solid crossover tube that gets in the way of some blowers and turbos. Also it simplifies the cooling system. But is not necessarily better than the oem setup if it’s working for you.
That is a beautiful piece! Dumb question, is there a reason to relocate the thermostat to that new location rather than keeping it stock?
@cobraengineering
Жыл бұрын
No such thing as a dumb question. Mostly just cleaning up the cooling system. The factory setup is made for emissions not power and racing.

@@cobraengineering adding one these to my list. Do you have a video explaining the different head cooling mods for the cobras. I see your head cooling mod uses the driver side freeze plug at the top of the head rather than the freeze plug on the back of head like mmr's. Is one location better than the other?
@cobraengineering

@@racequad9 the one on my car has been there for 15 years and I just have never pulled the transmission to install the proper one. So yes the one I sell that goes in the back of the heads is the proper way to do it.

The head fittings won't work with the B heads on that engine. But I am going to be making a set that will. Watch Cobra Engineering's Facebook or Instagram pages.

Can I run this crossover delete, keep my stock oil cooler and just cap off the hose that comes down from the stock cross over and just remove the thermostat at the stock location and run just the one in the new close over kit?

Yes. Many have done this very thing.

The warm up time should be the same?
@cobraengineering

@@adipperales9902 No. that is why Ford uses the bypass setup. In emissions it helps to get the engine up to temp quickly.

Last question, if I order your oil cooler delete kit, can I just run it with the oil filter relocation kit, and not run an aftermarket marker radiator cooler/radiator?

what fitting is that 90 degree going into for the head cooling mod?

The thermostat housing has a 1/2NPT port. That’s a very simple 90* hose barb fitting.

@@cobraengineering it's a shame it doesn't. I recently went through hell trying to make another company's kit fit my b head teskid block car. We don't have that super easy to reach bolt holt like you do so I had to trim the actual intake manifold to expose the 2 holes I did have. Sure it works but could be better. Granted b head builds just aren't in demand so I can't fault anyone for limited support either.
