It's definitely super impressive. I have a follow up video I'm working on with it on the streets getting hammered and putting it through the paces and testing how it does in real world conditions.

Great video and appreciate you taking the time to do a back to back comparison. Looking forward to your next video. I have been waiting to see results like this as I need to make the upgrade. A VMP unit will be one of my future upgrades.

Yeah I bet it is. Those 2.2s are known for their heat. This Whipple spun really hard is no slouch either at making some heat lol. It's a great test for what kind of heat it'll dissipate.

You're welcome and Eatons put out a ton of heat so not a bad way to go at all.

Those are impressive results. I’ve been thinking of getting that for mine. I already have an Afco Pro heat exchanger on it

That would be a good combo. I have a video coming soon of installing a GT500 sized AFCO in these cars and what it takes to make all that happen.

Heck yea. Great to see the improvement over the modded stock. I have the vmp core to go on my kb2.2. Also have a Department Of Boost super single and their powa pump. Should move some serious water.

I appreciate the kind words and glad you're enjoying the content :) I don't have a patronage and likely won't right now as I don't feel right taking donations. However I'm thinking about getting a t-shirt guy to design some cool designs based on the cars on the channel and then guys who want to support what I'm doing and help it grow and get some merch in the process. I'd be a lot more comfortable with something like that.

Great video series you put together. I'm actually in the process of installing the VMP Gen3R along with their I/C and 1" manifold in the Cobra. It took several months to get both the I/C and manifold as both were on backorder. I was wondering if it was actually going to be a significant improvement in flow and you just showed that it is. Great work. I also plan on doing the Gt500 or DoB super single h/e along with the EMP pump and full 1" conversion as well so I'm looking forward to your next video on that. Will you be installing the MAF tubular crash bar as well?

Thanks Tony. Glad the video helped :) and yes the parts delays are very real across all products right now. This car already has a tubular crash bar in it but I’ll show what’s needed.

Did you ever have to remove the blower & install the support rails for the vmp IC? I know people that are running high boost were having issues with the ic flexing and cracking.

I did, as soon as I heard about them I called VMP and got a set sent out my way. Luckly my IC was not cracked when I pulled the blower.

Is there a how-to on wiring up the EMP WP32 pump to the Cobras? I am guessing it takes a bit of rewiring to get this to fit since they're not mustang specific, right?

It's certainly a bit of custom wiring yes. They have a heavy current wire that goes to a battery source and then a lower current trigger wire to make it turn on.

I have a 2003 cobra that I want to get a new tune on. I’ve seen you tune a lot of cobras trying to find out how to get a tune from you. Thanks

Curious if you were able to get the full 1 inch manifold transfer tubes installed and if there was a noticeable improvement in flow vs the original tapered tubes in the video?

Not yet. I’ve been working on other issues and projects. However I will be coming back to the supercharger cooling system in the future, including those intercooler tubes. I’m more concerned with that current manifold leaking past the orings more than anything else.

@@guevoncito6265 I appreciate the feedback and also really like getting data on everything because all the opinions out there and hype are sometimes so wrong. I don't expect huge gains swapping out that 3/4" manifold as it's one tiny pinch point in the whole system which was all 1" lines. I find that the cores themselves will only flow so much and you reach a point of where inlets and outlets are not a big issue anymore. If you saw my heat exchanger upgrade video I increased the barbs on it from 3/4" to 1" and gained 1.2 GPM. It's still something but nothing even close to all the hype that surrounded that mod.

Would you say the Cobra Engineering manifold would be a better choice to go with the VMP intercooler?

Since I haven’t actually gotten my hands on one yet it’s hard to answer. Hopefully I will in the future and have an answer then.

How do you feel about modded stock cores? Found one for a good price and I’m debating if it would be worth it. Plan on using it with 1” lines and a dc150 pump in the stock location and a dob super single

Well they do flow a little more than a bone stock core so that is some improvement. I tested that many years ago. The VMP core is way better but it's also very expensive. A stock modded core would be a good budget option for sure.

@07:05 my 2.3 whipple didn’t have does caps when I received it and put it back together I think that’s why I’m ready 16 1/2 lbs of vacuum at idle instead of 20

It's definitely a small vacuum leak. My idle went rich after plugging those holes and fixing the injector o-rings.

@@MalcolmV8 I think I found the plug online, it’s called the base plate bolt of I’m not mistaken. Was it hard to install? Or just pull the whipple out and hammer the bolt in there? Sorry for the dumb question

@@modlist6129 it's a plug or cap looking item. I purchased directly from Whipple. I actually made a little tech tip video on how to remove and install them that'll be ready for upload in a few days. But yes essentially hammer down with a square and dead blow. It's possible to knock them in too far and then you have a leak all the same and need to drill them out and try again.
