I know its easy but i always find myself having a difficult time so just wanted to prepare. My pcm is tuned where if i turn the key it turns the pump on. And all it does is knock amd not whirl then dies lol. I believe we just have a different bracket but it all seems do able. Ima use clamps to reduce the amount of coolant from hitting my face. I think the reason the new pump came with a rubber mount was to protect the electric motor from jarring motions and vibrations. Looks like the pump mount that you left in is solid metal bolted to the frame which is going to put way more vibration into that motor. If it has brushes, thats going to wear the pump down faster I believe.

    Cody Gammon You are right. They sell this pump but it’s actually for the F150 lightning, which is why it has the bracket. You can add some sort of insulation, but it would have to be custom made.

    What condition lead you to believe the IC pump had failed? I have a 2.3 Whipple that after driving for a period of time starts sounding like a bag of rocks were dropped in the engine. I've ran the engine without the SC belt connected while hot and don't get this same noise so trying to determine if it is the SC itself or not. I'm going to do this test for the IC pump but I've also been dealing with horrible belt squealing on the SC drive. Actually chucked the Aux Idler couple months back and ever since have not been able to get this setup figured out and belts squealing is a constant problem.

    On mine i had coolant come out of the expansion tank, indicating it was boiling so i knew the pump was bad. They will still work on and off so its hard to know they are bad unless you see high charge temps (my aeroforce gauge reads charge temp). Is change the oil in the supercharger, but it might be bad bearings or rotors contacting in the blower. I’ll post some videos below

    Hey, how expensive is the maintenance on a termi? I've been looking in to getting one for a while now and I just wanted to ask someone who has one.

  • @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    9 жыл бұрын

    They really aren't that more expensive to maintain than a regular mustang..except for a few parts that you may have to replace that the other mustangs dont have, or parts that wear out faster if you're not on top of them. I.e. you'll burn through spark plugs faster on a heavily modded cobra, but you can keep buying the inexpensive tr-6 NGK plugs that do just fine. You have an extra drive belt since the supercharger runs on its own belt system, alternators go out faster if you change the lower pulley and don't change the alternator pulley to be bigger (spins the alternator too fast- not the alternator's fault), the IRS wheel bearings must be torqued often or they will get loose and wear out prematurely. I just replaced the intercooler pump (of course) and that's a part the cobra has but other mustangs won't worry about. It all comes down to what you want. If you're going to mod a non-supercharged car, you'll have the same problems, even more actually, as the cobra has been very well designed

  • @dannyjohnsonsgarage

    Yes, just full it up and then let it run to make sure it’s circulating. I would keep the same color and brand of coolant. The green is more silicone based and should not mix with other colors. If it says all makes all colors it may be ok (some prestone say that)

    Do the pumps have date on them?

    Most likely not a date, but the part number would tell you if it was an original run or an updated later part kzread.info/dash/bejne/aqWW2NmhabPYZ6g.html

    Ewwwww...I hate coolant....I have this siphon pump that can remove oil...coolant...water or just about any other liquid..it’s known as a suction gun.......it’s made by OTC...model 2359...I just used it to remove the water in my disposal when my kitchen drain became clogged....very handy....cheers...😀😀.

    Prestone 50/50 pre-mix. You can also add a little distilled water as well, but remember that water Will expand and freeze in the extreme cold and could damage the system, so you need to make sure it is it is mixed well with coolant. If you do not use distilled water it could cause rust to form
