God's favor has been shown through all my trials and tribulations and how He has protected me, has bought jealousy to others through their behavior toward me. But my faith remains in God's favor👐👍⚘be bless sister Kim
Prospering in the name of the lord does not mean that everything will go smoothly always. It just means that through both the highs and lows, God is with us always and guiding us, and taking care of us. I want people to see the many blessings in my life because I cling to God and Jesus. Thank you Kim! Your series has helped me soak in the word of God so well!
As always, thanks for the study. I can only imagine Saul's thoughts /feelings as he transitioned from afraid to dreaded to more afraid. His pride won't let him accept the inevitable. He still thinks he can work it out for his benefit despite "seeing" and "knowing" that the Lord was with David and not him.

"His pride won't let him accept the inevitable." YES.....and given the evil spirit at work in his life, I guess we shouldn't be surprised that pride is big on display. When you KNOW God is at work and that God has spoken, yet you still think you can override it.....whew! Just asking for a real-time demonstration of Proverbs 16:18. 😩😳
"May our life show the fruit of devotion to Jesus!" Amen Kim. PREACH!!! I want that. I really do. I want people to see Jesus large in my life! I love this study sooooo much! Everything was powerful, but you know what struck me? How dangerous darkness is. By the definition of darkness, blindness is inevitable. How blind and deluded is Saul to think he can override God's plan? God told Saul his house is over, but Saul still believes he can stop God by killing David. Saul is still fighting. That is satan through and through. Satan knows that he has lost, but he still fights. Evil is deluded and dangerous. And, the appetite of evil is so gripping that Saul enlisted people to help him carry out his scheme not caring what it would do to their character or walk with God. Evil does not care how many of us it carries with it to satisfy its appetite. And the people do it because he's king. Lord Jesus, please keep me live in Your light! Please help me to see clearly and stay awake. Help me not be lured into the enemy's schemes no matter what form he takes.

So true, sis, that darkness is evident as Saul sinks further and further. We're told that an evil spirit is at work, and we see evil all over Saul's actions. Love the way you put this--> "the appetite of evil is so gripping...." That's exactly it! No constraints. Just full-on evil. Reminds me of King Herod killing all the babies up to a certain age in order to get rid of THE King, Jesus. We KNOW that was the enemy, just as it is here in this chapter. Saying AMEN to your powerful prayer!
Ooh, there is so much here! I was struck by so many things in this rich chapter -- one of which is how nasty jealousy can be. Ah, Saul just festered and plotted and schemed because he was jealous. It's still a bitter fact of many lives today. Also, the idea that David is safe from Saul's plottings and spear-throwing because he is under God's protection, but our "invincibility" toward the things of this world do not make us immune to desolation, wandering, wondering, questioning.....how many Psalms did David write during his time in the wilderness? How many prayers to we weep out because we are in wildernesses of our own? BUT God - even though we struggle we ARE under God's protective wings and He will watch over us. I love this assurance and hope! Also, I have to echo Velicia's post about your closing comments - yes...powerful and beautiul! A life spent clinging to God is an amazing one, despite the trials of our worldly walks. I love His amazing grace and love!

Oh, the ugliness of jealousy on display.....yes! And Saul had the same Spirit David had.....same opportunity to walk in faith and trust.....but he preferred sitting under a tree or cowering in fear than engaging in battle. ;) Amazing how jealousy can spin *everything* out of control.....and as you said, it's a bitter fact today. And yes, what a truth for us to explore throughout the rest of this book.....we are not immune to all the things you named, though we are in God's will and under His protection. May we cling to that eternal assurance and hope! Thankful that NO MATTER WHAT, His amazing grace and love are OURS! Thankful for you, my sis!
1) It amazes me how in this chapter we see the by product of jealousy; fear. But still we don't recognize it always in our own life as such. 2) Saul had his plan to get rid of David, Trin-Ni-Tee sang a song years ago about putting your mouth on a child of God, I guess Saul missed that principle, well no; now that I think of it Saul knows he just can't help himself..LOL We plan, and God laughs (metaphorically). 3) Getting to the theme of clinging to God - I'm blessed to see how God's will is all over this chapter and David.

Ooh, so true, Laverne, that it's easy to jealousy and fear in Saul's life, but somehow we can miss it in our own. Lord, give us eyes to see what lies in our own hearts.... Amen, I am continually blessed as I read these chapters and see GOD all over the place. Such an awesome God! I pray we stay encouraged as we behold His might.
Love the way you break down what you reading! Helps me get a clearer understanding for my own study and writings!
So I read ahead a little to chapter 19 because the word just draws me in, and all I could do is smile at God's protection of David through Michal, Jonathan, Saul's messengers and even Saul now that blessed me.

I did also laugh about David's "dowry double" of the TWO hundred foreskins was mentioned almost in passing in the text, like "Yeah, no big deal, David just got 200 of those guys. Meh." Humility and confidence are a powerful combo when happening under God's plan!

David is a beast! Whether it's attacking a lion or bear or nabbing TWO hundred foreskins, I keep thinking, WHO DOES THAT?! Such grace on that man! Humility and confidence in the Lord are indeed a powerful combo!

Thank you so much, Kyienn, and saying a hearty amen to that prayer! xo
Got me thinking Saul was afraid of David because of the announcing GOd had in his life it seems like Saul should have been more afraid to go After David seeing that GOD was upon his life he really thought he could take out a child of the king
God Bless you!

Hello I'm a new subscriber, really enjoyed this video. The reason I clicked on it is because I was trying under 18:10. It says "that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul," So you have any insight?
Also sounds a lot like David's plot against Bathsheba's husband.🤔

We're on the same wavelength here as well. I thought, hmm, at this point, David probably never would have thought he'd go there....
