I was just attempting to figure out what to make of David's actions in this chapter. Did a search on 1 Sam 27 and found your vid. You really nailed it in vocabulary that I didn't have to have a PhD to understand. Just what I was looking for. Bravo! It brought the story to life for me. Thanks for your work.

That's a truth I turn to time after time---God as my refuge. Such comfort in that! :)

I love that Psalm. "In the shadow of your wings I will take refuge until destruction passes by" Amen! That is my takeaway!!! I have to ask God to always help me remember to stay in the shadow of His wings until destruction passes by. Help me my Lord, not to come out early and be my own refuge. Help me to always cry to You before I cry to anyone else. I love this, I'm going to meditate on this. Thank you Kim for another stellar study!!! Thank you for taking the time to shoot videos and share your gifts!!! :)

Thank you sister for this confirmation. I was scared and crying with the thought of my children being raptured before me and asking God how I would be able to stand during that but telling Him I choose to trust him. It scared me so much and I was indeed feeling discouraged, just like David. He gave me that word and your interpretation was just what I needed to hear. God bless and protect you always.

Another great study Kim. There is no mention of God at all in this chapter - uncommon for David. This chapter is a great reminder for me that coming up with my own solution absent God is never God's will! Very timely lesson for me today!!

Yes, such a great point and definitely unusual to have a "David" chapter with no mention of God. Such a reflection of where his heart was at this time. Amen, great lesson for us all!

Awesome insights kim! Discouragement is a disease, and takes our eyes and hope off of the lord so that like david we seek our own way out? I understand this personally and asking God to help me keep my hope in him!!!

Interesting how David returns to Israel with a plan and betrayal believing in God, when he left he originally had doubts, and believe Saul will definitely take his life. I thank God for sisters like you who could interpret the Bible to confusing minds. God bless you 👐👍⚘

David took it upon himself to flee he didn't inquire of The Lord, but God still watched over him. We should not go before God, but God with his loving heart still looks after us when we go on our own. Lord help me not to get ahead of you for you know all things well. Your word says, "seek you first".

What advice would you give a new Christian who has never been to church or read the Bible? I've been on this search to find God and my faith but I don't really know where to start. I've tried doing a bible reading plan but wasn't able to keep up with it and got discouraged and gave up. I don't go to church right now because I feel like I don't know enough to understand a sermon or the references made in a sermon. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. I want to get closer to God and I know I can, I just really need some guidance...

Danielle O'Neill: I Recommend Purchasing the NKJV Bible and Also an Amplified Bible. The NKJV is Easier to Read...Whilst... Staying Close in Translation to the KJV ( The Older Version (KJV), Because it Uses Words Difficult to Understand... And the NKJV Uses Words to Make it Easier to Understand. The Amplified Translation Explains and Uses Words that Help Understanding the Verse and Chapter. I've Found it Helpful to Refer to When Not Sure What NKJV is Saying... It Opens the Meaning of the Text. A Good Place to Start Reading is John's Gospel in the New Testament ... But Definitely Continue to Follow Kim's Teaching!. I Wish you Well!...God Bless You.

Danielle, you've gotten some wonderful advice already. You say you're a new Christian yet you also said you're on a search to find God and your faith. I agree with Frances that you should first be sure of your salvation. And please don't feel as though you can't go to church because you won't understand the sermon. That's the enemy keeping you from people who can shepherd you into a true and thriving faith in Christ. The Lord will open up your understanding and you will *get* exactly what the Lord has for you. Pray for the Lord to direct you to a church with rich Bible teaching. Saying a prayer for you right now. 🙏🏽
