Saul came face to face with the culmination of his disobedience. It's amazing how acquiring the kingdom was so important to Saul previously - important enough to throw his relationship with God away. But now all he's worried about is staying alive one more day. Sometimes we think we'll never have to deal with the consequences of our actions, but that's not true. We all will. There are no exemptions. Obsessing about the treasures of this earth will end with a life of regret. God let me live today, knowing that I may meet you tomorrow. Another excellent study Kim! Makes me very pensive. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, it's amazing how his worries centered around what would happen with the Philistines....whether he would live or day. But he wasn't worried at all about the way his relationship with God had deteriorated. Lord, give us eyes to see "the main thing!" This was truly a chapter that makes you pensive. Blessings to you, sis!

Kim this over view of King Soul's life from a Chose King 👑 to a fallen man is a man with a Country! God just wanted Soul to seek Him but pride had taken over and he chose a Medium to mess around with an evil person to make matters even worse because Soul didn't remember or chose this avenue because of his stubbornly ways not to bend his knees to God anymore and now is destroying destiny forever. It's very sad when I can see at my age to to reflect on my own life and see how many times I have chosen the wrong path and my life fell apart too. Until you brought up repentance and grace did I feel a measure of hope in my own heart ❤️! Thank you for sharing this powerful message of God's Word 👍🙏😍😇😅

You would never want The Lord to turn a deaf ear to you. Saul didn't go to God an ask for forgiveness any of his sinful time. Lord help me to Cling to you even in my sins knowing I must repent and do what is right in your sight. Great lesson sis God bless.

Disobedience puts a wedge between GOD and us. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness".

"Disobedience puts a wegde between us and God." Yes....harsh truth, and it HURTS when we're in the midst of it! Like Mae said below, I also started thinking of the times in my life when I chose disobedience and went off the path. I felt Saul's increasing desperation - how foolish, though, when it truly is so easy to come back and cling! It seems almost too simple sometimes, but thank God that He provides us this "easy out" - confess, repent, and be forgiven. How I love Him! As a side note, it floors me how some people say the Bible is boring or stale - they clearly have never listened to one of your studies, Kim! :) There are so many entertaining stories in here, especially when listening to you tell them! Seeing David pretenting to be insane, Saul throwing himself on the ground in Endor - this book alone.....wow. Glad to be back in the "Clinging" after a few weeks away! Love you!

Danielle! You're back! 😊 (I didn't guilt you, did I?? haha) This right here--> "...how foolish, though, when it truly is so easy to come back and cling!" It's amazing how the enemy makes us think otherwise! It's SO hard to come back, dig your way out, climb that mountain back to God.... When there's actually so much GRACE and LOVE to *help* us come back...and God's arms are open! So thankful for a gracious God. And yes, these stories truly are entertaining! Saul alone is worth the price of admission....lol All I do is read and they come alive. :D So thankful for you, my sweet sis, and glad your'e back! ❤️

Wow! What a message to those who disobey God... You will definitely feel and experience His wrath, times are pointing to Jesus getting closer in His Second Coming. Those who don't repent and confess their sin and that Jesus is our Saviour will live in torment. Thank you Kim for today's lesson 👐👍⚘

I'm not completely convinced that Saul was actually speaking with Samuel. Maybe Saul was speaking with an oracular spirit that looked like Samuel (Acts 16:16-18)

Hey Kim, this chapter is soooo eye opening. I've heard before, but never seen with my eyes where in the scripture it states not to go or seek out so called mediums and such. I remember thinking, I wanted to learn how to read cards and such- I even wanted my palm read. I'm sooo glad, every time I thought I was going to go do it, I became ill. Thank you LORD! However, I am confused in verse 19, when Samuel said that Saul and his sons would be, "Here with me." Was he referring to "here" as in being dead or "here" as in a location? Any thoughts? As always, you did a magnificent job!

Saul was indeed messy. The Philistines were a sore spot for him. He probably thought of how David stole his thunder.

Saul Saul Saul, why didn't you repent, we need only come to our Heavenly Father in repentance,Saul is really a sad case, and this chapter teaches us so many things sis , we must remember that God is willing and able to forgive us of all things if we repent wholeheartedly of our sins, maybe he would have had a different outcome for his life if he had and the life of his children so sad.... Thank you once again Kim for another beautifully narrated study we so enjoy the cling series I hope it doesn't end :) God bless you sis! Much love to you and your family

I have anxiety because we know what’s next for David and Saul and it’s sad but very eye opening. I heard an author say this about sin further than I meant to go, longer then I meant to stay, so apropos for sin

Please help me to understand Kim. In chapter 25:1 Samuel died. And when you were saying Saul went to the medium and he wanted her to bring up Samuel, and you said Samuel was (Alive) and in their last real encounter in 1st Samuel 15, Samuel went away grieving . So in chapter 25:1 the Israelites all knew of Samuel’s death-passing... I’m sure Saul knew about Samuel or he would have not went to the medium to call upon Samuel to hear some direction be cause he was not getting anything from God . So I don’t know what you mean in this are of teaching by Saying Samuel was alive?

  • @kimcashtate

Frances, so sorry that was confusing. I was saying the medium saw Samuel, as in God allowed Samuel (though he was dead) to appear to the medium and Saul to give Saul this word. Though the act of calling up Samuel was a sin (and God treated it as sinful), He allowed Samuel to give Saul this word about his pending death. Does that makes sense?
