Thank you for what you do. I just said a prayer thanking the Lord for this series. It has really been a blessing and an enjoyment to me to go through these chapters of the Bible with you. I feel like I'm having girl talk at tea time in my living room with you over the word of God, and it's AWESOME!

There is so much richness in this chapter - from Jonathan's boldness to stand up against his (crazy) father, to the soul kinship between David and Jonathan (may ALL of us have a Jonathan in our lives!), to the knowledge that belonging to God does not mean immunity from suffering, sadness, and the evil of the world. James 1:2-3 came to mind: "Consider it pure joy...whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith develops perseverence." I know I'm not the only one who'd like to think "I've got enough stamina now, God. I'm good!" but our Father knows better. I KNOW that I have indeed drawn closer under my Father's wings through the trials I have faced, and can honestly say that I have even found joy in the trials I've walked through with my children's sicknessess, namely because God saw fit to give me these two beautiful lives for the days He ordained in the first place. I DEFINITELY cannot wait to "rejoice with exultation" when the day of glory comes!

Danielle Mbadu "may ALL of us have a Jonathan in our lives".....yes! I would add, Lord, give me grace to BE a Jonathan. His fierce love and loyalty in the Lord (not to mention that great faith he's been known to display!) inspire awe. And RIGHT...."I've got enough stamina now, God. I'm good!" Ha. Would that it were so and the trials could cease! It's amazing how the Lord knows ALL that's yet to be done in us, all that's left to be shaped, refined, purified.... And it's also amazing how we can testify, often even in the midst of those trials, that God is faithful. You, my sister, are a walking testament to His goodness and grace in the midst of hardship. So thankful that such hardships will one day end. Oh, when the day of glory comes!

I love this passage of the Bible where a friend can be closer than a brother because he knows the Lord and is loyal to God's anointed king 👍☝️🙏

My goodness how this chapter made me cry. So much came to mind in how seeking to act in love regardless of offense to not do evil still hurts. Words and actions of unprovoked attack certainly show us to trust in our Lord for strength to break generational curses. Great lesson Kim. May the good Lord bless you.

So much is going on in this chapter! I love the fact that Jonathan loves and honors the Lord more than any position. Thanks for the reminder in 1 Peter! Our Father is working and He is working ALL things together for our good. Praise Him!

Amen!sis , This is such beautiful chapter the relationship between David and Jonathan is so admirable and honorable, they had a beautiful bond as brothers in spite of his father's wicked ways, wouldn't we all be blessed if we have at least one friendship such as this in our lifetime and this is so honorable before our Lord God.... wow... and so beautifully narrated thank you sis I'm late but I'm here :)God bless you 😇

Blessings Always YES, if we had ONE friendship such as this in our lifetime.... And you know, even as I typed that, I had to thank God that JESUS calls us friend, and we have the privilege of dwelling closely with Him. That's an amazing blessing that I hope to never take for granted. And you weren't late at all, sis! So thankful to be studying with you. Blessings to you! Xo

Jonathan is indeed a friend.. I will copy his kindness and love towards his friend David to help me be a better friend to others. Jonathan always put his friend (David) first in his life, I love that. Thank Kim for this Bible study program, God bless you!

Thank you Kim! I love this. I'm up at 10:56 PM enjoying this video! And you're right about David's humility. I want to meditate on that. I want to be like that. Even though he knew the throne was his, he still self examined himself instead of focusing on Saul. In the natural, everyone would say David had every right to be angry, but he stayed focused on himself. I want to have true humility. I want to make sure I'm right by God instead of making sure everyone else is doing right by me. I'm extremely grateful for these studies Kim. Thank you so much!

JCGIRL0001 "I want to make sure I'm right by God instead of making sure everyoe else is doing right by me".....now that's a mature sister in Christ! :) Amen... We can easily justify taking offense, getting angry, etc. when we're the one who is wronged. But it's not so easy to see where we have erred ourselves. Keeping that humble heart posture before God can be painful (it's not easy seeing ourselves!), but I'm thankful that God is gentle and kind, and gives much grace! Blessings to you, sis!

These verses feed my soul 👐 because of the trust that David had in the Lord, David knew he had done nothing and questioned why Saul wants him dead, he didn't get angry instead trusted the Lord. What an example for us to keep in mind through our trials and tribulations just trust the Lord👐

My Lord our Lord how excellent is thy name in all the earth. I have to take a breath after this chapter. It reads like an Episode of How To Get Away With Murder or Game of Thrones. I like how David and Jonathan now having a clearer picture of the future renew their promises to one another from what was in chapter 18;3. (Jonathan gave David his robe and weapons). This new promise is FOREVER, wow. v28-30 could be Thanksgiving drama after the drinking starts. Saul attacks Jonathan and his mother, that was funny to me. This chapter made me think of several television shows I see commentary about on Facebook. And some folks say they fall asleep when reading the Bible, they might need a different version. Lol God bless all the Clingers' out there. 😎

Laverne B Ha....yes, this could be a dramatic episode from one of those shows.....crazy that it was REAL and these are God's chosen people (I chuckled at Thanksgiving drama lol)... I love the lessons we learn from humanity in the Bible and how God responds. And as you said, I too love how that bond between David and Jonathan is renewed with a FOREVER covenant. I KNOW....how can this be boring?? :). Blessings to you too, fellow Clinger!
