Jonathan! What a mighty man of God. I can see why he and David were BFF's!!! He is a great example of how I have to take the offensive stance against the enemy rather than the defensive. And the courage and faith of that armorbearer...he also must have seen Jonathan's great faith!! This is a reminder to me that the victory is already mine because I belong to The Almighty God. Imagining that 2 to 20 victory is awesome! Our God is truly the Lord of the Armies!!! This was another great study!!!

I completely missed Jonathan’s faith move until you shared this perspective. Originally, I saw Jonathan as “impatient and defiant” to his father Saul because this was his 2nd time waging war without consulting with him. In actuality he was faithful and fearless with his Heavenly Father. Thank you for clarifying and thank God for his anointing on you! Love these bible studies!

I have the Spirit of God within me. There is nothing that I face this season that God has not already delivered me from. Let it be on earth as it is already in Heaven. My respect for Jonathan has reached another level. 😉🤗

I love Jonathan's aggression with the enemy! He didn't wait to respond, he initiated the battle and won! Like Danielle said, I want to be like that. Not always responding to his attack, but circumventing it! Please God bless me to be on the offensive, not the defensive! And Kim, so true, we always think about David, but Jonathan was the OG!!! He was the young warrior I think before David was even born! (Since David was born when Saul had already reigned 10 years, if my math is correct.) My takeaway is to totally walk by faith, trust God and not wait to respond the enemy's beatings, but cut him off at the pass. Thank you Kim for another profound study!!! God bless!! :)

Ha, I love this---> "Jonathan was the OG!!!" Yes, he was! Totally on offense! Amen to circumventing the attack rather than responding to it. May it be so, in Jesus' name! I'm still fired up whenever I think about Jonathan's faith and trust. Let me live in that lane. Always so thankful for your insights and excitement about the word, sis!

I absolutely love verse six: "Perhaps the Lord will act in our behalf. Nothing can hinder the Lird from saying, whether by many or by few." Oh He is mighty! He is sovereign He is our God.

Glory to God! How inspiring to read about Jonathan's first daring mission! From the get go, he dared to trust in Almighty God. Help me dear Lord, to live every day of my life knowing that You, are not restrained to act / save by many or a few. I choose to walk with a fearless and faith-filled attitude, knowing full well that You are the one doing the work. Thank you sister Kim for another power-packed study xxx

This was definitely encouraging. Also looking at how the Isrealites joined the Philistines when things weren't going right. Like the Body of Christ joining the world. How our numbers seem so few we must stand with the Lord.

As always, I love your insights. I was struck by the use and contrast of the phrases "do all that is in your heart" and "do whatever seems good to you." Jonathan's armor bearer focuses on his heart as if he knew he couldn't be acting out of his own thoughts whereas the people must've been convinced Saul wasn't truly seeking the Lord being that they kept saying do what you think. Their words don't seem to convey a ton of confidence in Saul nor his judgement. Looking forward to next week.

I hadn't contrasted those two phrases, but wow.... YES, not much confidence in "do whatever seems good to you." Sounds like an obligatory nod to the king out of respect, when you can imagine what they were really thinking, But Jonathan's armor bearer was all in! I love that he must've been inspired by Jonathan's faith.

I thought the reason God was silent was because of Jonathan, which didn't make sense to me. But your explanation makes sense, it was Saul who sinned. Makes sense because God was silent with him.
