Claudia was dodging the question about being proposed by a prince. Years later we find out that that prince is actual an Arab prince and he asked her out on a date for millions of dollars. Still we do not know his identity and his exact motives. But we can see that she was starting to feel uncomfortable about the question. Who knows, maybe he was powerful son of dictator, and Claudia probably feared that. But we can see that Claudia has always been a private, shy, reserved person who always had self-integrity and self-control. She was no gold digger. She married for love. She has been married to her husband of more than 16 years, and has a beautiful family. Never once divorced. I'm guessing her parents instilled the strict German disciplines in her ever since she was a child. Good for her.

I agree. I once saw an interview with Cindy Crawford. I can't remember if it was Letterman, but this would have been some time in the nineties. She came out looking beautiful. They had been selling her as athletic, natural beauty, fresh... but she came out looking femne fatale... Her eyeshadow was deep purple, of sorts. I think it matched her dress. He was fawning a bit, paying compliments in a way, trying to disarm her. They're talking, she's being sweet, he's getting her to relax. He's starting into her face admiringly, "you look really nice tonight" type stuff. Suddenly, he blurts out "Wow! You look like you have two black eyes!". The hurt in her face and she couldn't think of anything to say. I think she said, after several seconds, something like "Gosh, Dave... Gee whiz thanks". As if to convey, "oh we're great buddies, he does this all the time"... But the shock and hurt in her eyes she couldn't hide... The audience and him laughing and her hurt little face.

See the way he just walks off like that at the end?...just another day in the office for him, he lacked a bit of heart Letterman, hard man to make out, great talk show host, funny, one of the best shows ever, but he could be so aloof, he did an interview with Billy Connolly years ago and he was weird with him too..
