Although this looks like the Sopranos cast members were appearing on the Letterman show stage in New York (at the corner of Broadway and 53rd Street in uptown Manhattan), this bit was likely recorded at one of the Sopranos locations where the cast was already located. They then did the bit in front of a green screen, so they could later, in post-production, appear to be delivering their lines "on stage." There was no audience and sound and applause were added later. It was nicely done, though.

I never fully appreciated the depth Gandolfini's brilliance in the Tony Soprano role until I saw him in interviews and other roles. It was then I realized how far away from the character he truly is. Such a great show. And like the beginning such a great sound track. Top ten was so iconic. I don't remember all the scenes of the show. One character I had to look up because he looked like bill barr. On the actress wanted a better part. I remember crying because it was such a tough scene. Holding on to the car for dear life.
I've gotten into this thing of watching Letterman's past Top 10 lists from different years and it, is by far, more entertaining than anything that current late night crap talk shows spew out every weeknight.
Just now watching that series ... what a great cast!
Did they really have to censor the music? Even on DL’s own channel? Wow.

Greed.
Good old times. They would never be another cast like the sopranos!!
I love that when James comes out they all genuinely look so happy to clap for him:) he was such a lovely man, I wish we had him for longer 😢
The Sopranos, television at it’s peak. An absolutely amazing show. RIP James Gandolfini and Tony Sirico.
That was top quality comedy! I miss Dave. . .

Silvio was a barracuda and ruthlessly whacked her in the woods. She was down on her knees crawling too. " Ohhhh barracuda...."

That was great acting by Drea and Steven in that scene. Drea really captured the look and terror of someone realizing her time is up in that scene.
This was so good .#3 was superb.
Hell yeah dude!
Jamie Lynn and Drea 😍

Thinking the same thing.
Paulie is the most iconic character ever. I don't care what anyone says. I know, you know it, everybody knows it.
