This is like a time machine. I’m currently watching the Sopranos for the first time ever, never watched any clips of it and such before. So after binge watching the first season I’m used to seeing the actors in their younger selves. Now, seeing Christopher in this clip, is pretty weird. Like 20 years just flew by, crazy.

@@hhbentee I would have put the rankings as Gandolfini first. Falco second and Imperioli 3rd in terms of the importance of their characters to the series. These things are very subjective. Look at the likes of Gladiator the movie. I don't think Joaquin Phoenix got second billing in the movie. But in terms of his acting and character importance he was second only to Russell Crowe IMHO. Everyone takes away something different. That's the beauty of the Arts.

@@abouttime5000 Seeing how poorly the Many Saints of Newark was written, it feels even writing is lightning in a bottle. A good writer in the right frame of mind and time in his life, supported by other writers is not something you can replicate easily I don't think.

His first screenplay was actually a film called Cleaver which he co-wrote with his friend JT who disappeared for some reason. It was a slasher film about a wise guy with a big mouth and bigger dreams. Almost like a mix of Godfather, Saw, and Ghostbusters.

I have three favorite lines: 1) "Hasidim but I don't believe him" ---Paulie (Back in the first season prior to the crew getting involved in the motel business 2) "You're looking at them asshole" ---Tony Soprano to the Jewish Hasid in response to his question about "Where are they (The Romans) now?" And Christopher's line to that Rapper in the restaurant: "I know what time it is" (A line I use frequently myself, but I confess I stole it from The Sopranos) That was the episode where the Rapper wanted to go after Hesh for money he pocketed unethically or illegally for an old song.

i am rewatching the Sopranos for the 5th time and I can't get enough of the superior acting, the dialogue, the atmosphere. Michael, you have no idea how many people love your work.

Imperioli is a master of his craft. Always enjoying watching him do his thing.

I have never seen an actor look as real as Micheal when he was doing Chris when he was high

The supporting cast should get as much credit for that show as Gandolfini did. So many memorable characters, the show simply wouldn't have been nearly what it was without those incredible performances.

Michael is a brilliant actor. Next to Gandolfini, he is easily the best actor of the show. Its sad that he threw the award. Hes a very gifted actor, musician and writer and many actors have plenty of lead roles but are never remembered for a particular performance. Michael should be proud that he crafted such an iconic character, very few actors embody a character like he did.

The fact that this guy isn't seen in major productions several times a year tells you all you need to know about the current trashy show business. He consistently managed to be one of the best actors in a legendary series that was full of them down to the last part. He had so many memorable scenes, both funny and dramatic.

The most surreal part about “The Sopranos” is looking at these actors in this day. To see how these people have aged is hard to grasp. This show is so timeless, I’ve watched the series at least 33 times, that it’s weird seeing how much the characters have aged. It’s weird.

Christopher was my favorite character on The Sopranos. He does a great job on his new show This Fool. Always enjoy his work. Very relatable person.

Michael Imperioli is one one actor I truly enjoy watching. His characters can be funny, interesting and irritating. He's definitely not a one trick pony.

I don’t know when you see Pitt, Denzel or DiCaprio headlining a movie, even if it sucks you know those guys will bring it. Not so much with Gandolfini even at the height of his popularity. So yeah he played with them but that’s about it. But was a great actor on a great show. Never really stood out to me in any movies, I think last 2 I saw with him were Enough Said and Killing Them Softly. And the ladder stood out because of Pitt and Ray Liotta.

Leonardo DiCaprio in “The Basketball Diaries” is spot on. Oh and John C Riley in “Walk Hard, The Dewey Cox Story” is a hilarious portrayal of an actor doing their job insufficiently .

I love Michael so much. He's a great actor and after watching Talking Sopranos on KZread Michael opens up and talks about himself. Michael Imperioli is a true professional. He loves the craft of acting and is so serious about doing everything as perfectly as possible. You can tell he's watched tons of movies to perfect his craft. He's a true class act.

I’ve just been watching Sopranos lately, 1st time. Hard to believe been like over 10 years. The series is one of the best I’ve seen. 👏 👏 Michael has worked with some of Hollywood LEGENDS. 👏 .

The sopranos is a true work of art, as each time I have watched it I see another detail that I missed previously

He is a really thoughtful student of the art of acting. He knows an enormous amount about the craft.

Awesome interview Michael! I TOO auditioned for Godfather III! I recorded a version of Cavallaria Rusticana after listening to Placido Domingo. as they requested. A couple of days before the audition, Mrs. Coppola (Francis' mother) left a voicemail on my answering machine to help me with the audition. I thought it was a friend pulling a prank. I called her back and she mistakened me for an operatic singer at UCLA. After she realized her mistake, I wouldn't let her off the phone until I picked her brain for any tips to audition successfully. She told me "My son doesn't let me get involved with any of his casting". LOL!

Man….I thought I was the only one who thought this exact same thing. Love the podcast and I love Steve but he’s a typical loud mouthed NYer who doesn’t know how to hang back and let Michael guide the show. He’s more experienced and has a much more calming voice that should be number one narrator on the podcast with Steve throwing in his piece about mob life experiences etc…Not that Bacala is not good etc. I love him, but he interrupts wayyyyy too much

I lived for the Christopher-Adrianna storylines. I was so devastated when Adrianna was killed … I always wanted them to find a happily ever after but it just wasn’t in the cards for them. This was the first show I ever watched with emotional investment … it was just amazing.

I worked on film sets for many years and in my experience there are two types of actors: 1) super geniuses that can do anything 2) weird man boys that really like to play pretend with toys

Bought my first Lexus because of Christopher. Michael is an amazing amazing actor. Love randomly watching his interviews. Need to checkout his podcast

One of my first professional gigs, they wanted an actor who could play the guitar. During the audition they asked if I could play the banjo. I said yes, though I didn't, and got the part. I had to learn to play the banjo to an acceptable level in two weeks before the read-through. An actor will do anything to get the part.

He's a great actor. Extremely underrated. Watch him in The Lovely Bones. He played Christopher perfectly. I can't wait to see what's in for him in the future.....

The woman who wrote that book lied and had an innocent man convicted of a rape he never committed , he served 16 yrs for it , look it up.

@@bigpun7916 Did she lie or did she incorrectly identify him in a police lineup? I’m asking because that is a huge difference. I have absolutely no respect for eyewitness testimony, especially by a person who is traumatized after having been raped. If that is the evidence being relied upon in a case, in my opinion juries should dismiss it. It has been proven to be extremely unreliable.

Such a great screen play “summer of Sam” I have always been jealous of that film.

He was great in the Sopranos and seems like a nice guy.

The funniest scene was when they found out vito was blowing the security and Chris mentioned what vito said about greasing the union and the other guy cracked up 😂😂😂 funniest damn scene
