One of Harvey Weinstein's lawyers said to the press as his court cases were happening, "Mr. Weinstein didn't invent the casting couch". He was absolutely correct. This kind of sex for business favors has been going on for decades in the entertainment business. Marilyn Monroe, after she had enough success in movies that she was earning money for the studios so that she had some leverage in her contract negotiations, signed a contract where she was able to make some demands. After she made one particular deal with a studio, she was quoted as saying, "That's the last dick I'll have to suck to get a part in a movie!". Maybe Harvey Weinstein was so blatantly abusive that everyone around him finally had enough and organized against him. But he certainly wasn't the first, and probably not the last.

You can't just live in the city of Los Angeles/Hollywood and know the inner workings of the film industry. Most people that live in Hollywood are poor anyway. They're not connected. The people that live in Hollywood don't know anymore than someone that lives in Wisconsin. They hear it from the same TMZ broadcast everyone else does. I lived all over LA for 25 years and directly worked in the industry for 10. Even then I didn't know much more than anyone else. Unless you're at the top and you're part of the inner circle. Living in Hollywood or even working in the industry doesn't mean you have inside knowledge of anything, especially after living there for only 5 years.

I also believe Corey Feldman when he says that he saw and experienced horrible things during his Hollywood childhood. MovieMaker2100 I mean...Brad, as far as my knowledge, didn’t actually know all the details of the whole situation. He learned that Harvey sexually harassed Brad’s partner at the time, Gwyneth Paltrow in a hotel room in the mid-90s. Brad threatened to kill Weinstein, according to Brad, instinctively. He said that he “just wanted to make sure nothing was going to happen further, because Paltrow was going to do two [more] films [with Weinstein].” So, Brad’s knowledge was pretty much that he knew that Harvey sexually harassed Brad’s partner at the time, Paltrow, and that he put a stop to it then and there. Apparently, Harvey apologised for it, probably because he was pretty damn scared because somebody actually confronted and threatened him. So...I don’t think Brad knew the full extent of Weinstein’s crimes and actions. From what I’ve read, QT & Pitt had both been wanting to work with each other for many years but they were waiting for the right project and half way through the writing process, QT sensed that Pitt was perfect for the role, which, as we all now know, he sensed right. Anyway, that’s pretty much what I think the story is, I hope this might clear it up for you.
