Wow! She was so beautiful here. I think this moment was the apex of her beauty. She was 40 years old here and this is the most beautiful that I remember her - even during her young years during Sonny & Cher.

Totally agree with you harry baules, "wow" indeed. Her smile is captivating and even when she's serious her eyes are so direct and focused. The fact she's genuine, straight talking and devoid of hypocrisy makes her even more attractive.

I saw a clip of Cher in concert, and she was telling the audience the story behind this appearance. There's a lot to the story, but she said she hadn't been on Dave's show because she was afraid he would say something mean to her that would make her go home and cry. But she didn't realize Dave had this huge crush on her and she thought it was cute when he was having trouble putting two words together.

Where does she say that?? Because Dave's huge crush was Terry Garr, Blake lively, Drew Barrymore, Julia Roberts but his biggest crush was Terr Garr. And he had crush on Natalie Portman... He never mentioned Char..... plus Char said because he says mean things to the guests he doesn't like???? Your information is little off ???? Plus only reason she went is he paid 28,000 for her hotel....

Watching Dave interview Cher had me on the edge of my seat, every time.
It's funny, this one has become so infamous over the years, I never realized how charming the whole interview really was!
I love the way the chemistry is so constant throughout this whole exchange. She clearly legit thinks he's an a-hole, he clearly is one and hasn't fully accepted how much of one he is. But he's also masterful at keeping the dynamic fresh and knows his talent. He admires her for saying it which increases his attraction to her, she has enough charm and respect for him that she regards him just enough to keep things electric. She challenges him to up his charm game to max levels, not letting him get away with cheap jokes and effusive flirting. She's simultaneously challenging and coy. It's just perfect.

You were very Lucky to work with amazing People. I can tell by the way She talks, She is very real. She invokes innocence and intelligence combined. I can't stand intellectual arrogance, I once confronted Somebody like that, I think He wanted to murder Me....all I said was, You do realize, being so arrogant and educated like Yourself.....You might as well be ignorant, it's the same fine line, that runs through many things, like the one that runs between Love and Hate
Truly one of the classic moments of television history. Pair this with the entire 1987 Sonny and Cher reunion episode, and you've got you some fine entertainment...
Cher's body language says a lot. At the start of the interview shouting distrust, arms folded is a big indicator, leaning back, sitting away in the chair, her body almost turned away and shoulder up, laughter is a camouflage in a way, it looked like she wanted to sit in the furthest chair when she came close, yea not good vibes. She is not afraid to say what she thinks, very strong personality, she is definitely not a pushover.

Took them as a couple, quite a while to understand that the initial love they had was still there. Truly their business but it is Cher and Sonny and we got to share in their acceptance of the love they had for each other. Frankly, once you have a child with a man that bond is still there after a divorce and life goes on. Only exception becomes if the Dad does not do right by the child and deal with his kid with love. Sonny did that. At the end game they knew that idea and I think Cher truly mourned his passing. Life is complicated and you can't explain it with one "sit down" with someone. who is a stranger like Dave was to Cher, . even if you are Cher.
