Great to see it him and others work for on perfecting their craft for many years. Andrew Scott and Joaquin Phoenix to name but a few.

ah now he was also incredibly lucky with a small but vibrant theatre/play tradition in Ireland and exceptional writing from the likes of Enda Walsh and Patrick McCabe - you can nearly spot the moment when Danny Boyle saw Disco Pigs and thought 'oh that forlorn lost look is exactly what I'm after for 28 days'; that being said he had toured with the play (and others for years) and I think he's right about theatre being formative.
Cillian just sat there for 1 hour and 23 minutes giving credit to everyone but himself. HUMBLE MAN. he's incredible.

Hi I am Irish and this is a very Irish way to be, its almost impossible to compliment an Irish person, we´ll always try to pass the compliment to someone else. I have travelled to many countries and rarely see this elsewhere.

@@lea-anne9133 I agree BUT I wouldn’t downplay the honor of receiving such an award and I think cillian would feel incredibly humbled and grateful to be praised for his work in such a way. it’s been a long time coming

This is not long enough. Cillian is the most unbothered person in the industry. I just love his energy.

I think he's gotten better and I think if the interviewer is this informed / intelligent he can get into it, as here; he doesn't want to 'play the game' I think of Stephen Colbert's disastrous paddywhackery interview about C.Nolan's weighty Dunkirk - that interview would have been so different had Stephen seen ANY modern Irish film like Disco Pigs, On the Edge or Intermission!
He's beautiful he's calm he's clever he's eloquent what a man
Oppenheimer deserves to sweep every award under the sun. It brought back moviegoers post covid

@@GalvezrebornDid you notice what I did in the Trinity test sequence: during the silence of the initial bomb blast, the only thing I could hear in the theater was the “click click click” of the IMAX projector. Just like a Geiger counter. Brilliant.
I'm from Dublin and I remember waiting on the bus home after work and a mate that I was waiting with he said "there's cillian murphy"...and I said "where" and he said "right there in that car" and he was 100% right...he was right there in traffic sitting in the passenger side up the front about 3 ft away from me...traffic at 5pm on amiens Street is really busy so he was sitting there for at least 10 minutes for the traffic to start moving so I got a really good look at him just to make sure it was him and yup it definitely him no doubt about it....that was over 20 years ago....hes a fantastic actor that worked his way up from the bottom.. He has to win the Oscar for oppenheimer.

The interviewer is empathetic and charismatic/ quick witted. And Cillian responds well with her. Good interaction.
I think listening to Cillian is an education. Since discovering him rather recently, I am compelled to buy the books he suggests, watch his many films and I even listened to him narrate the history of Ireland. His voice is like honey but his intellect, his honesty, and his sincerity about anything he does draws me to him. I have learned so much and am so grateful for him.

Samee I’ve listened to many podcasts and interviews with him and I end up taking notes on his recommendations, advice, etc. I’m so glad he’s gaining much deserved recognition for his acting contributions ✨

The same thing happened to me. I had no idea who Cillian Murphy was but I knew who Oppenheimer was. I’d read Feynman’s books and was eager to see how the film played out. I hadn’t been in a theater in 18 years when Oppenheimer came out. I was astounded, astonished, blown away by Cillian’s portrayal. The I saw Peakey Blinders. The contrast between Tommy Shelby and Oppenheimer could not have been more stark. Now i watch his interviews, his films, read the books he recommends….. i read Small Things Like These and can’t wait to see the film. This man is a genius. And humble. Great combination. Plus he’s funny.

He's a tonic! He so self effacing, even when his sons text him that he has been nominated for an award, his first thought is not, 'oh my boys, I'm so happy you two told me', it's, 'why aren't ye in school?!'. Humble even when being praised by his own family!
Oh, give him the Oscar. He has earned it time and time again! Brilliant bloke, so humble and talented.

“Instinct over intellect.” In the world of art and acting, feeling something is more important than rationalizing it. Great advice! I have learned so much in this interview.
Janelle did a good job here! i think Murphy really becomes engaged when the journalist he talks to is very skilled.
I first noticed Cillian in a film about the fight forcan Irish Republic called 'The Wind that shakes the Barley' from the old song. That movie is around 20 years old now, and I have grown to look forward to the honest characterisation which Cillian brings to every role. Well done Mate
People think Cillian's super power are his eyes. I think it is his voice. Or maybe it is both: the warm, lush voice combined with the cool, icy eyes. But it is also his total embodiment of being. V cool guy. Oppenheimer was brilliant. Thank you.

wow. I like how he thinks of himself as a working actor. A worker.
Cillian Murphy’s is the epitome of an actors actor, impressive individual with no airs or graces about him and an incredibly down to earth kind of fella.
Being a massive Peaky Blinders fan, I’ve seen Cillian as being one of the greatest actors of our generation for a long time now. So happy to see everyone who didn’t faithfully watch that show be fully on board as well.
I think this is my favorite Cillian interview. He's so damn delightful.

he's genuinely so funny throwing dad jokes and you can really see how much more he gained confidence and talks a lot, maybe because he finally got the platform for talking about all these things I'M SO PROUD OF HIM😭😭😭

He’s so articulate and interesting. And funny. She always seems to brings out the best in the interviewee.
What an absolutely lovely lady and journalist she is. I tend to come back to sag aftra interviews again and againg because they are the most genuine and I always want to see this lady. She has more charisma than most of the people she is interviewing. I hope they are paying her loads of money because she is gold. And also, how pretty. Love her style.
Man Cillian waited 20 years for the perfect pitch and hit a Grand slam!.

This is the best interview I've seen, great questions, he looks relax, inmerce, and is genuinely interested in giving a good answer. Love him❤ and she is a great interviewer.
He is so different from his Peaky Blinders character. What an actor he is, imagine how difficult it is for your everyday Joe to be so good at acting.
Glad that there's an hour and 23 minutes of Cillian Murphy being interviewed at the SAG Foundation. He seems wonderful to be listened too in telling stories

He is such a joy to listen to. Intelligent, humble, calm and surprisingly funny. Very easy on the eye too. Happy to see his current success, hope he wins that Oscar - though I'm sure it won't bother him one bit if he doesn't.
No one talks about Watching The Dectectives, it's a delicious little romcom and he's quite funny. I need someone to ask him questions about that movie.
I came to see him because media make us believe that he is kind of introvert and what I found is that he is kind and funny, glad to watch this interview and get to know a little bit more of this artist.
Jenelle Riley really is the greatest interviewer; genuinely engaged in whatever/whoever she’s talking to and has this subtle way of making whoever’s being interviewed so comfortable and at ease.. Not to mention she always seems prepared, clearly intelligent and knowledgeable about the craft and industry and asks interesting questions.. So kudos girl!👏🏻 Also looking fab here, love the pants❣️

As a long time cillian fan I'm so happy he's finally getting the recognition he deserves, finally everyone sees how sweet, humble and talented of an actor and human being he is. I dare to say now the whole world is obssesed with him hahah even he is kinda more social now because he is meeting and chating with all the people he admires. I really hope he's gonna get more diversive and interesting scripts, working with various directors, this really shifted his career and my heart couldn't be more full.
A guy with major talent without a beard and gorgeous face … so few of these.

I remember being a child and watching him being the villan in Red Eye. Even if I only watched it once, I kind of felt he has something special. ❤️ i am glad to see him being main lead in amazing movies or series

Without question, the most insightful and rewarding interview I’ve seen with Cillian Murphy, who was both relaxed and forthcoming in his responses.
Here you can perfectly see how happy, relaxed and so funny he is, maybe it's because he finally has the platform and finally can speak about the things he wants and look back at his career. I need more interview just like this one with him alone, nobody interupting.
Cillian: "Sort of a dead genre" re: zombie movies 😂. That was underbelly hilarious

Jenelle is one of my favorite interviewers, there are some interviews from years ago that I always rewatch, actually. And to have her interview one of my favorite actors is amazing. Especially considering how interviews can be quite challenging for Cillian from what I've seen so far😅 This feels organic and comfortable, definitely going on my rewatch list
