Chuck Norris showed up when I was deployed to Iraq. Months away from retirement, I was like a damn kid again. -Skipped out on a safety briefing to go see a childhood hero. He wished us all well and choked up doing it too. Genuine as f*ck that guy is.

He was really a rags to riches story. Grew up in poverty and overcame a lot of adversity. I loosely make an analogy with him and Tito Ortiz.

Chuck Norris will go down as one of the greatest Marital Artists of all time. Notwithstanding his philanthropy. God bless him..

@@jamesmiles5662 Lee was a street fighter that nobody ever saw get into an actual fight. I'm not taking anything away from Lee, I'm sure he would have been a tough guy, but it's really just pure speculation. At least Norris proved himself in the ring.

Greg Bailey well there wasn’t mobile phones doing worldstar back then lol,it’s very famous he beat up two guys on set saying he can’t fight on film set loads stories guys he beat up,plus every actor or martial artist all said was quick and very good,he was training with the best around at the time including chuck Norris so he was legit,plus you say chuck Norris proved it yes true was multiple karate champion,but did you ever see videos off the fights there point fighting gay fights,with 100 rules,and all very slow,he didn’t win knockout tournaments with leg kicks so none them are real fights at all,

MrBrenman21 lol you haven’t got a clue have you,first off all no chuck Norris did not do real fighting lol,karate point fighting has 100 rules to protect the fighters it’s a sport,and it’s not even knockout kickboxing either that he done also not Muay Thai where kick to legs knees elbows clinch sweeps,was just point fighting he done,real fighting is in the streets no rules,that’s what Bruce lee did most he’s moved where designed for the street,he was first guy doing Mma way before was around had trained in multiple martial arts and weapons,everyone who trained with him said was lighting fast and very good and he sparred heavyweights they all said couldn’t touch him,so your deluded mate,yes chuck legend too

I totally agree. One thing I have noticed, for a few years after the first UFC came out and BJJ exploded into mainstream, it seemed like you would just find meatheads trying to go 100%, at academies all over the place. After a couple of injuries and my buddy getting his knee torn up by one of the aforementioned meatheads, we decided it was time to leave the one academy in the area. I think it's now time to go back! I would love to attend an academy of one of these greats like JJM; to me they have brought something back to US martial arts that's been missing for a while: they teach respect, patience, promotes personal growth, i mean you basically have to leave your ego at the door, - those are all life lessons everyone should know.

@@_Chipster it’s a hell of a grind training BJJ. No short term gratification like karate and TKD with multiple quick belt promotions. Your body gets beat up with wear and tear with the constant rolling. But the sense of accomplishment is huge.

Chuck Norris trained incredibly hard. You know how many push-ups that guy did every day? _All_ of them..

Chuck Norris’ foundation style is Tang Soo Do which he learned in Korea while stationed there. Norris is the poster child for turning his art into big success outside the dojo, he has always walked the talk.

He actually started out in judo, got a brown belt, injured his shoulder, and then took up Tang Soo Do, during which time he won 6 karate world championships. Then later on started Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and switched to Machado Jiu-Jitsu.

I'm a drug addict, and I've actually been looking at Jiu-Jitsu schools in my local southern California area to train at now that I got rid of all my friendsI should definitely be finding a hobby that's healthy and productive and teaches discipline and self-control such as jiu-jitsu

Cowboy Have you started training? Train Jiu Jitsu and pursue what God has for your time on this earth. Put away the drugs. I lost one of Jiu Jitsu brothers to drugs this week. He relapsed, overdosed and died at 35. Put down the drugs, brother. Pursue the things of God and train Jiu Jitsu. You will not regret these things.

why has Chuck never been on the show ? Chuck was one of the most open-minded guys back in his day he comes from a Tang Soo doo background and in that day it was very frowned upon to get caught cross training back then, but he had an open mind and wanted to cross train to become well-rounded, Chuck and Bruce Lee were some of the first celebrities martial artist to start cross Training to learn all arts to become more rounded, and this started back in the late '60s early 70s these men were well ahead of their time....
