The fact that many people can flip-flop their opinions on Ariana is kind of bonkers to me. She released an album with her side of the story, and she's absolutely allowed to do that. I also truly, deeply sympathize with her if her marriage was abusive, and I'm thrilled that she was able to fight and get out of it. BUT, to completely denounce her of any wrongdoing, when she got together with a married man, and met his wife, HELD THEIR BABY, is insane. You can feel happy for her and the fact that she got out of a toxic relationship, and at the same time, remember that, regardless of timelines, what she did to Lily's family is heartwrenching. Especially when you consider the fact that this seems to be her pattern with almost all of her relationships. Like Lily said, her family is just collateral.

@@dekuquan7010 We don't have a concrete *story* but we do have information from all sides that gives us some idea of the timeline and what happened. We will never know everything, but it is easy to see that Lily did not expect her marriage to end as it did. That plus confirmed photos and dates is enough to know that Ethan was emotionally and/or physically cheating on his wife with Ariana. We don't know if Dalton was abusive. We won't know his side because he signed an NDA. But, even if he was, that doesn't remove the fact that Ariana pursued a relationship with a still-married man who had a NEWBORN. Ariana is not more at fault than Ethan, of course, but its still icky.

@@dekuquan7010 I completely agree with you. Unfortunately the line has been blurred when it comes to celebrities and people often think of them as not being human. And I sometimes fall into that trap as well. I just wanted to give an opinion from someone who was, prior to this, very neutral on Ariana. I liked some of her songs, she's insanely talented, but beyond that, I didn't think much of her. But I distinctly remember when I first heard about this situation, I had such a bad taste in my mouth. Even if there was absolutely no "home wrecking" involved, the situation is just so nasty, that it honestly made me get put off. Obviously, that doesn't matter to someone like Ariana Grande, but I stopped caring about her music and releases. This was only exasperated when I heard the lyrics to her songs, and just wondered how Lily would feel about it. I think people are allowed to have opinions on other people/celebrities without going overboard and sending hate to any of the people involved. And like you said, we don't have the full picture and we never will, but I think that this has definitely stained her image, at least IMO. And really sorry for the extremely long reply, just wanted to share these thoughts.

@@mertark8511 Ughh... The problem is that we do not know if Ari and him were being nasty with each other BEFORE he asked for a divorce. Maybe they were already having marriage problems. Usually, when you come in and sit down with your partner and say you want a divorce, its either they cheated or they tried so hard that they've become unhappy. Fidelity always plays a part. Like shit, he just had a baby. Most men cheat whenever their partner is pregnant or still in post partum. So, I am not surprised if he did cheated before asking for the divorce. You seem too young and naive to understand why many people strongly they both cheated before leaving their partner. Ari & Dalton theory makes sense about them being on & off for a while before their divorce.

Even if Dalton was cheating, it doesn't excuse what she did to Lily Slater. You can feel love for a lot of people and not act upon those feelings. She acted with gusto and she needs to be held accountable for that.

We don't know what happened, but we do know that ariana volunterily entered a relationship with a man who has JUST had a newborn. Yes, HE broke down his marriage himself but she could and should have handled it better, period. No excuses.

There’s just no way in hell you can convince me that Ethan isn’t a fucking loser for jumping into a new relationship while his WIFE (emphasis on wife because he didn’t even file for divorce until September when the reports about him and Ariana came out back in July) was delivering and caring for a newborn baby. And the fact that at least 9 months prior he was with Lilly Jay enough for her to get pregnant is very telling. So I understand why people would find it messy for Ariana to want to be in a relationship with a loser who would do that to another woman. It makes them both look, at the very least, like selfish people. But as with any discourse on the internet, all respect and nuance is lost.

People are acting like Ariana wanting a divorce for valid reasons suddenly makes Ethan Slater cheating on his wife of a decade who he has a child with okay. It’s not okay. Facts!

My theory: Ariana and ethan both cheated on their partners. Ariana's PR team messed things up but are now trying their best to recover everything (i know a great PR team work when i see one) Ethan cheating can almost be confirmed by the statements of his wife (ariana's not a girl's girl, didn't see the divorce coming, the dates are messed up) Also the fact ethan isn't rich like Ariana who made dalton sign a contract not to reveal anything about their relationship also paid him hell lot of money (to silence him) something ethan can't do to Lily and now Ariana can openly paint herself good again in the eyes of her fans by writing songs, liking post that hints dalton was a bad husband and it wasn't her fault the relationship ended. I'm not saying dalton is totally innocent (that's something we'll never know) but due to the contract, we'll never know both sides of story. Only Ariana has the freedom to speak about it. Its not good. Ariana also definitely bounded up Lily with some money to stop her from ruining her image (again Ariana is hella rich). Also Ariana's name is soo big she is trying soo soo hard to erase the homewrecker thing. But fortunately people can see through it. We shouldn't invade someone's privacy at all, eternal sunshine is purely magical, she is a great artists, but she did destroy a home.

I think it's important to remember that anybody can lie to you, whether that is the media or Ariana herself. She can say whatever she wants about Dalton in those songs, and he can't say anything back because of his NDA. So for that, I only take her lyrics with a grain of salt, because it reads to me personally as a tool to get people back on her side, rather than something we have substantial proof to believe. What we do have substantial proof of though is the fact that the timelines don't quite match up for them to have been single when they started dating, and even Lily strongly implied that they definitely were not split when Ethan started seeing Ariana. I think that Ethan wrecked his own home for sure, but Ariana was far from an uninvolved bystander as well. Everybody involved can be an equally terrible person (other than Lily and the baby).

It is important to call people out for their wrongs. You can say it’s non of our business all you want but it’s harmful to behave this way. The timeline makes no sense and she’s broken couple up before in the past. I agree with everything in this video except for the potential exoneration of Ari in this situation. Even if the situation was horribly abusive and terrible and she was finding a way to cope the midst of awful trauma, she potentially played a part in breaking up a marriage that had a newborn in the mix. I know it’s speculation, but as you mentioned, there’s also a pattern of this behavior from her. Yes we can’t claim to know what actually did or didn’t happen, but the fact still remains that Ethan Slater left his wife and newborn, months after his child was just born. I don’t know how much of that is okay and can be nicely wrapped up as “we don’t know what happened and it’s none of our business.” Yes it is none of our business, but it’s also not right to excuse such behavior, especially when unfortunately all signs point to that happening

From what I got from that recent interview she had done. Ariana honestly may just want to have her happily ever after and finding the one as she said, the problem is is that she’s trying to rush it and she’s finding it and all the wrong ways. There’s a video on the KZread channel called scandalous media, which I recommend, and they just posted a video of the psychology of Ariana,and with the main thing it came down to is that she has high self-esteem, but low self worth and I agree with that. I said that same thing that we may not ever know what happened of this whole situation, maybe Dalton did cheat on Ariana and maybe he was abusive but if the rumors and articles are true that Ariana ruined Ethan Slater’s family, that still does not make it right because why would you put another woman through the same pain that you are experiencing? bowen yang has already confirmed that homewrecker allegations are false. ethan’s (ex) wife has confirmed that she never said anything about ariana not being girl’s girl and that she hasn’t made any statement. it has been revealed that all stuff page six wrote about ariana (and ethan) weren’t true a girl confirmed in ig comments that she wrote all kinds of stuff about ariana’s relationship and her body bc she saw that it was trending to hate on her so that is confirmed as well. there are many proofs that ariana is not a homewrecker but people still choose to believe what they want bc they just want to hate. absolutely nobody cares about that baby or his wife, they only care about hating on ari.

I know this is not on topic but for EVERYONE struggling with body image, body dysmorphia, or ED: Arian’s current body can’t be achieved healthily unless you have pre disposed illness or genetic alteration that causes such a low BMI (not a fan of the BMI system just using it for simplicity purpose) I don't know about Ariana’s personal life and it’s non of my business. I have however seen people trying to achieve her weight or even exact body type and I am asking everyone to not take her as “body goals”. Stay safe

I was raised in a methodist cult basically and gossip was the biggest issue apparently for young girls. Meanwhile for young boys it was porn (but actually the dehumanization of women) lol my life thesis is let women gossip because it’s survival for us. EXACTLY BRO. there was a certain quote from the Oliva/ Sabrina video that sticks with me and it was the "people will side with whoever comes out with new information" and I think this is the case here. Ever since Ari's album new came out everyone's acting like all is forgiven. I think Nichole needs to rewatch that video and take her own advice.

I have been in an abusive relationship too I also didn't share the truth with anyone and my ex made a lot of people hate me the entire city knew me as this demon but he claimed he didnt do anything while every single lie he told was what he did to me. He was confessing through accusation. Nicole I'm sorry you went through that but if anything at least he is not your future now. He is only your past and sure you can't change your past but your future doesnt have to be the same you can write your own story. When I think that he is the past and not the future it makes me feel better so it might make you feel better too. I know that this is just a random comment but I heavily believe that victims should support each other even with just a comment.

This story is pretty heartbreaking in my opinion. I think it would literally break me if my partner did to me what Ethan did to Lilly. I genuinely hope she and her baby are doing okay.

i think it’s a really nuanced situation. i wouldnt say i hate ari or anything, but the fact that this is a pattern of behaviour she’s had for years (even admitting to it in break up with your gf), yet she decides to make herself the victim of a hate campaign is iffy. And just because she wrote an album about how awful dalton was, doesn’t mean any of it is true (or false). I also think it’s a bit gross considering dalton doesn’t have the platform or influence to defend himself against ariana. overall i’m glad ariana seems happy and i don’t wish any bad things to happen to her, but i don’t think she’s the innocent heartbroken little girl that she’s trying to play up to. she is 30. she’s a fully grown adult and she can’t even accept the fact that she did something controversial without making it everyone else’s fault. releasing “yes, and” as a response was tone death and kind of just shows that she doesn’t give a fuck, and now i think she’s backtracking to make herself the victim so that her new album doesn’t flop. but that’s just my opinion.

I still don’t see how any more context helps Ethan or Ariana’s case considering Lilly jay’s statement about being blindsided. If they were even flirting without first ethan communicating to his wife things weren’t working, he sucks. And honestly Ariana should have confirmed the state of his marriage and the wife’s feelings with him before pursuing anything. Considering she definitely knew about it and their child. The only thing that would excuse that is if Lilly jay was lying or she was like dalton unfaithful or abusive.
